21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term vs. short term investing on: February 21, 2018, 08:25:59 AM
Hello my dear Bitcoin brothers.

I would like to ask you about your experience with day/swing trading vs. long term investing and also,
what was more profitable for you and what are pros and cons for both ways of trading?

This question interests me since market is very volatile and it can get quite easy to exploit daily range for a quick small profit.

Thank you fellas.

Short term investing is for people who can spend more time on this. For people like me with full time jobs, long term investments are best. Volatility does not matter in long run.

By what percentage did your assets go down to during January?
P/S: this is not a contest you want to win  Grin
I had invested in only bitcoins and I saw about 185 growth in last 30 days. I am going to invest some more money in bitcoin cash.
23  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 15, 2018, 06:10:25 AM
Can you clear to me that which sector or thread is suitable to discuss for counting as good post.
If I don't know about Bitcoin mining how can I say anyhing about this. I will participate in those discuss that I know somthing. You guys are senior in this forum, you know much about this forum but what about a new comer. How can he/she get it.?
And please I'm not asking for merit, I just want a suggestion from you.

Check this page to know which posts and sections are getting good merits: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats. You are yourself admitting that you have less knowledge. Solution is to read as much as you can and then start writing here.
24  Other / Meta / Re: Were sMerits being wasted ? on: February 04, 2018, 03:08:55 PM
The main point here i want to talk about is Merit System was made to lead this forum into the future right ? But what is the point when they were wasted into those old posts . sMerit are limited and with this problem, it gonna becomes more and more rarely for people who really need it ? I know theymos added 49 sMerit resource but seems like it's still tough enough for members to get some sMerits from them.
The new merit system was added to looking for an anti-spam and shitposting , yes i do agree it works but it makes things becoming miserable for those people who has an average quality posts ( they hardly to get a sMerits from their posts) .
I badly want to listen for your ideals much to help this merit system going to the perfect way.

I also not like the idea of these merit points being used for old posts. Another wrong trend is that if someone gives 5-10 merit points to a reply, we start seeing merits raining on such posts from other members.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Merit! I can't beg anyone for it on: February 04, 2018, 02:58:03 PM
The main thing is most of the people are here for signature /bounty campaign. So they want to rank up easily and earn more bucks. They desperately wants to reach higher ranks and earn bitcoin more.So that's why people are begging for merits I think.

They do not realize that it will not help at all. Senior members are not going to encourage any practice that affects the merit system negatively.
26  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 04, 2018, 02:47:51 PM
There is hardly any forum which can beat the bitcointalk in all aspects. We should always keep in mind that this forum was started by the Satoshi and hence there could not be any alternative.

Sorry I do not agree with this point given you. I appreciate the work being done by staff on this forum. But if you think that this forum will remain number one just because it was started by Satoshi, it is not practical. One has to keep up with the changing trends. For instance, at the time of starting the forum, he might not be expecting sections like alt coins here.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Can the Merit system be used to incentivise good reporting? on: February 04, 2018, 02:39:03 PM
Just posting a suggestion for the senior members. Considering the huge amount of shitposting in most sub forums, especially the altcoin ones, would it be useful, if one were to incentivise users who report with 100% accuracy? Like reward them with Merits? Benefits would be;

There is already a reward for them. If there is some vacancy for staff, those members are given preference. (Information based on response of a senior member here. )
28  Other / Meta / Re: I done good posts but not receive any merit on: February 04, 2018, 02:28:44 PM
this system is good, but have to be modified. if i say i post quality posts but who knows who will give Mertis, we can not beg on that.  thats biggest weakness.

sometimes we will stay member forever. but here bitcointalk alternatives will be born rapidly and move away

You have to work on your grammar first to make a good impression on any other alternative forum that you are going to join.
29  Other / Meta / Re: Serious issue with the merit system on: February 04, 2018, 02:18:42 PM
This is something very different to spot and will result in lot of confusion. I hope they check past posts of members if they had conflicts or so for this.

If you have two houses, you can sell one and try this technique. If you have only one house, then this is not advised.
