21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin in the near future? on: March 17, 2018, 03:21:13 PM
You have a very interesting chart on bitcoin. Immediately evident that you are good at what you do. I also agree with the proposed possible scenarios. But many people on the forum say that soon bitcoin will test the level of $ 20,000, is it true? Huh

One month has passed after you made this post. Instead of touching the $20000 mark, it is still lying around $10000 only. It was rising in between but the prices are now dropping again. If we compare the price growth of bitcoins in comparison to last year, the current situation is very depressing.

It will touch $20000 fore sure this year but still if we look at ROI, it is very bad in comparison to past months. We had seen growth like 2500% or more in one year and this time we will see maximum 100% growth.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: March 17, 2018, 03:15:44 PM
There's a big chance that money will disappear and be replaced by Bitcoin or Altcoins because Blockchain Technology is the future of economy worldwide. Even some countries are now merging and trying to develop their own coins.

It may happen in future but it will take a lot of time. I think that I will not be able to see this in my life but my children will be using crypto in daily life.

Regarding my country developing its own coin, this is also not going to happen. Here the people making decisions (politicians) are not much educated. hey also do not care much about people getting benefited by crypto investments. They mainly care for vote bank and decisions are based on announcing freebies and relaxations at time of election.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was bought some bitcoin by sell my land on: March 17, 2018, 03:03:31 PM
Your decision to sell your land to buy bitcoin is not wise at all. You were supposed to invest an amount you could afford to lose in cryptocurrencies. It is a risk you took and it might swing either way. What if the price of Bitcoin is Bullish? You will be smiling by now. I want to advise you to hold as the price will still go up. This may be much later though.

This is one mistake that most of the new investors do. They are making investment decisions based on emotions and do not apply logic. People think that everyone is just making only profits with bitcoins. Reality is that a lot of people make loss as well, it is just that we do not see them sharing their experiences here.

After a member invests his money and he sees that prices drop as well, he realizes the mistake. It is thus advises to start with small amount and thus seeling your house or land for bitcoin investment for initial investment is not wise at all.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Beliefs about money and wealth on: March 11, 2018, 04:44:48 PM
1 - Millionaires are greedy, that is why they become millionaires.
2 - Company managers just want to use the workers to make themselves rich and others poor.
3 - Having money is a question of luck, if not of "gods grace".
4 - Debt is always bad.

1) I agree that rich people are greedy. I have sen a lot of rich people exploiting their workers and I will not like to take that route to become rich.
2) That is obvious but if they are paying well, it is fine.   Not all people are capable of doing own business and thus they choose jobs.
3) Having a lot of money is indeed a question of luck many times.
4) This is something a person understands only  by experience.   I have seen families getting ruined due to huge debts.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: how can the beggars access Bitcoin? on: March 11, 2018, 04:35:48 PM
I remember reading a post here on this forum with an image where the beggar was asking for money in bitcoins so some are already accessing bitcoins. In my country most of the beggars do not have access to smartphones and internet and thus they will not be able to use bitcoins ever. They also do not have any extra savings and can hardly arrange food for two times a day. Some of the beggars though (in rich cities) have accumulated a lot of wealth by begging. I am sure they must be investing some of that money in bitcoins but their children must be helping them with this.
26  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: March 11, 2018, 04:31:41 PM
I really welcome merit system. Obviously yes, though we do make quality posts they are unnoticed.

The main reason for less merits is when one replies to a thread,  the previous replies are skipped to be read. Here where a quality post do not receive a merit.  80% of quality posts are omitted  in this scenario.

And another reason, lack of merits. When one wishes to give a merit, merit is not available. Since it's very low to guys with ranks below Sr.Member, merit bucket is empty.  How then an merit would be given.

These two things can be looked at.

Regarding lack of merits to give, one option to increase the merits in circulation is by increasing the number of merit sources. Now the admin is already doing so and he might be finding it hard to find more responsible and honest members for this task. This roles comes with a lot of power and should not go in wrong hands. I think better solution is increasing the number of merits allotted to each merit source. They should have plenty of merits to give to members.

True, how can I credit someone for a decent quality post when I don't have any merits to give?

With current stats and rules, only thing we can do is that make some good posts and then expect merits. This will also give us Smerits which we can give to others.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirements too difficult to JR. Members on: March 11, 2018, 04:28:15 PM
Thia rule is causing effective selection of quality bounty hunters as for a global

You are a good example of members who do not still care about the merit system. You do not even bother to complete your sentence while posting a response here. I checked some of your old posts and all of them have the same issue. It is hard to say whether you forget about putting a full stop after the sentence or are using some kind of bot to make these responses. Please do not post here if you are not making any sense as it completely ruins the whole thread. If you make just one complete post next time that makes some sense, I shall be thankful.
28  Other / Meta / Re: Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 11, 2018, 04:24:13 PM
Spam has been reduced by cutting off the flow of new spammers into the system and catching some of the alt accounts and getting them painted red. There's a very simple way to remove the rest but it will not be very popular with a lot of people. Make a change to the forum so that signatures and avatars of anyone that has not earned at least 1 merit in the last 3 months are automatically hidden. That will force all the campaign managers to make earning merit mandatory.

Why is it required to do coding change to the forum to implement this. I mean the admin cannot just make it compulsory with an announcement for all campaign mangers to accept members only with certain number of merits as per the rank.

And those alt accounts being painted red, was it the purpose of merit system ? Was the admin aware of the fact that some people will try to cheat the system and start giving merits to their alt accounts. Admin must be laughing hard if this was intentional on his part but I never expected senior members to make it so obvious by sending merits like 50 or so to a single post.
29  Other / Meta / Re: Does merit really helping the forum. on: March 11, 2018, 04:18:17 PM
Yes probably it may help the forum. But not too sure about that. Always there are some limitations in the every activity. It is too associated with merit system. But there are very good moderators in the forum they will definitely counter it . Don't worry about it.

You seem to be having a lot of doubts regarding the success of the merit system. Just go through the posts in this thread itself and you will find a lot of amazing replies added here by new members as well. This itself speaks whether the merit system has helped the forum  or not.

Regarding the moderators taking care of merit system, that is not required. In fact, merit system is implemented in such a fashion that the work of moderators is being performed by the members here. All the members are goign through posts of other members and meriting them if they deserve so.
30  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas for improving post quality? on: March 11, 2018, 04:12:34 PM
Because for the first time they join the forum, they will be prompted in the main page which contains all the sections of the forum which for them is very confusing, and contains a lot of information to be taken in for their fist time (unless its an alt account, there's no problem).

Any member who is serious enough with the account he is creating here should spend enough time learning the rules first. There can be options added like making the users read all the rules at the time of sign up but people just click " I have read all the rules"  and thus it will not be effective.

It is hard to distinguish between members breaking rules because they were new or unaware of the rules and ones who are doing this intentionally for some benefit. We may create a requirement for members to make an introduction here before posting anything and there others can suggest him the links to rules.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 11, 2018, 04:08:08 PM
If this continues, theymos said that he will eliminate signatures and other ways of earning of money in this forum.
He actually said that! where? I thought he ruled out eliminating sig camps because I'm sure I've seen him state this in one of his old posts..
Would you please put a link or quote what he said?
Yes, he has said that in a recent post. At the time when he was asking for suggestions regarding how to remove spam from the forum, he ruled out the option of removing signature campaigns completely. Later merit system was implemented and members started complaining that it is not working. He said that he might have to remove signature campigns if merit system fails to fight against spam.

I think he actually meant the last four posts. I mean when you visit a board you see the threads ordered according to the time of the last reply in each thread, what I think he did is that he picked the last 4 threads (which are placed at the top of the page Grin) then picked the last reply in each of them.

This is actually what I meant and you expressed it better than I would have. I am in no way against merit system, I wanted to make the point here that a lot of members are still adding shit posts and they do not care about merit system. How is spam removed then ?
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tax on crypto? on: March 11, 2018, 03:32:13 PM
it is possible that crypto can be taxed, but i don't like the idea personally.
because they are already taxed us from our incomes. and they want to tax our digital currency too? Not cool.

Why you want relaxation for this particular income. I see  it nothing different from other types of income and thus it should be taxed as well. There is only one difference that any government is not spending anything on the development or promotion of bitcoins and thus it might appear illogical to some people that they are taking tax for this income. But the problem is that if there is relaxation for a particular income source, all people will start keeping all money there. This also applies to big companies and they will start charging in bitcoins to save tax.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be fine on: March 11, 2018, 03:15:07 PM
Yes,  bitcoin will be fine if there will be more investors and it will gain more popularity, and of course if there is no government intervention at all,  then bitcoin will last long.

This question has no definite answer in my opinion. Because you have not defined the high limits. You are asking that will bitcoins be able to cross all time high. Which all time high are you talking about ? If you are talking till today, it will certainly cross the $20000 mark in future, you will be able to see that before May 2018.

Regarding more investors, I think we should now look for ways to promote bitcoins in developing countries as they have a lot of people who can be interested in this. I have seen that a lot of people in my country  are always looking for opportunities to make some extra cash, bitcoin investment can be a good option for them.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: teach your children about bitcoin on: March 11, 2018, 03:11:21 PM
It is seriously cool of you for trying to educate your kid regarding bitcoin and the crypto market from such a young age. This is something I appreciate and more and more people need to follow your example. I am doing exactly what you are doing and am educating my family members regarding the basics of crypto since they are genuinely interested in this market since most of them are tech geeks. My sister has already invested and gained massive profits through the crypto market which she never expected and I feel proud to have helped them step foot into this vast crypto world.

It is fine to teach your brothers, sisters or elder members about bitcoins but what is the use of teaching it to children below 10. They do not have any money to invest in bitcoins and they will not even show much interest in this. I talked about ATM and all to a small kid and used to give me some silly suggestions regarding how we can get unlimited cash from it to buy candies. Smiley After 10-15 years, when they start earning and have some savings to invest, there may be another investment opportunity way better than bitcoins. Thus, in my opinion, it is not practical to teach children below 10 years about bitcoins.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Advertising through bounty profitable? on: March 11, 2018, 02:53:25 PM
I want to ask how does the people that do bounty make money.I mean they are giving away money for free. How is it profitable for ICO teams?
Because very less amount of people invest in their ICO through bounty. Huh

How can you make conclusion that only few people are investing thorough bounty. Here is why there are doing bounties:

1) Many of the bounties are giving their own coins and it is kind of free for them. If some people start showing interest in their project because of this, it increase the value of the coins and this is profitable for everyone.

2) You should not forget that this forum gets a lot of visitors from Google for different keywords. When these visitors see the signature of that ICO, they may buy some coins. This number can be huge depending on the number of participants enrolled and the length of the campaign.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it useful to invest my bitcoin to ICO sites? on: March 11, 2018, 02:48:11 PM
If you plan to invest on ICO, try reading alot about the project, always check if it is not a scam check the team behind it. ICO are profitables however ICO can sometimes scam so becareful on where you will invest. Do reading as a habit, lastly Dont rely on other's suggestion so that you wont regret in the future, your money your decision.

You gave some good tips for investing in ICOs. I do not invest in ICOs mainly because:

1) There are so many ICOs being launched everyday and all claim to be the best. Many are using false marketing techniques to attract more investors. I can research about each ICO and then invest but it will take a lot of time to find good ones. End result might not be worth the time invested for this.

2) These ICOs can give better returns than bitcoins but they are also more riskier. Chances of loosing money there are more and I prefer to go with an investment option that has provide itself for some years.
37  Other / Meta / Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 10, 2018, 04:43:30 PM
I picked top 4 posts in bitcoin discussions and here is the last response made in those threads:

it is never too late to invest ,you can invest the little you have ,but try to understand the market and how it works in other for you not to panic when there is a drop in the market

I think need buy right now. I got mane news from expert it will hit 30k$ soon.  So the market is now on downtrend. You will never get such a chance more to buy at this price.  So buy now and get profit in near future.

I think bitcoin is the king of all crypto that exist today, and in my opinion will remain king for a long time, because until this moment bitcoin is still a reference for altcoin. not as easy as it beats bitcoin, because if you want to beat it, beat the community first.

Guys I want to heard your opinion how great bitcoin in your own perception?

Btc is extremely great since it is so useful it gives such a great amount of chances for the individuals who have a money related issues and they encourages our nation to lessen the jobless in our nation Btc additionally gives an additional pay for utilize and it give us a decent advantages that is the reason I am cheerful to have Btc my life.

Was this the purpose of Merit system ? Note that these are not newbies making these posts.

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirm BTC transaction on: March 10, 2018, 04:31:10 PM
Hi , can anyone confirm my transaction please?

Here is the hash 62e9b45ae8789189d2bfca5b615aee356bf7ca99bce9d166b87d1e2fa42e9836

I accidentally added a low fee

Thanks

There are websites dedicated for this purpose like blockchain.info

As per the current stats, it is still unconfirmed https://blockchain.info/tx/62e9b45ae8789189d2bfca5b615aee356bf7ca99bce9d166b87d1e2fa42e9836

And you are trying to send 1 BTC by paying a fee of $0.29 , I think this will take a lot of time. Better see the current fees required for fast transaction and add that much fee. You will now remain worried about the transaction till it passes through.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: March 10, 2018, 04:25:55 PM
I know that there are many kinds of alternative coins existing today, but is it better to have that many coins instead of having just a few? What are the benefits and harm in having that many alternative coins?

I do not think one should invest in more than 5-6 alt coins. Most of the people are investing in alt coins for diversification, they want to remain safe even if one coin collapses, But if someone obverses carefully, most of the coins show similar price fluctuation due to a negative or positive news. And the most important thing people forget while investing in multiple coins is the time required to mange so many coins. You will have to keep checking prices for all the coins, follow the news related to each coin and this can be very time consuming.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think about bitcoin's dominance over whole crypto market? on: March 10, 2018, 04:21:35 PM
1. over 40% now, do you think this percentage will keep going?

2. what will happen if % drops, is this a positive or negative sign for you?

I think that this % will only increase. Many of the current bitcoin investors are moving to alt coins as well but we should not forget that a lot of new investors are starting with bitcoins as well. I think 90 5 of the people who are entering the crypto market are starting with bitcoin investment only. I will be happy if this dominance increases as most of the alt coins have no value or uniqueness to add. They are just having a different name and trying to create hype with marketing so as to benefit from the craze of bitcoins.
