22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dilemma of FBI coins on: January 17, 2014, 10:28:51 PM
Honestly, I wouldn't be too worried about it. We've trusted far worse people with far greater things.

When in Rome...
24  Economy / Economics / Re: what affects the bitcoin currency? on: January 16, 2014, 11:21:06 PM
The price at which people are willing to buy and sell bitcoins affects the price.  This is affected by the negative or positive perception of news regarding bitcoins...
^ yes. Think of it like stocks. The general demand for exchange is what fuels current exchange rate for Bitcoins
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy or Wait? on: January 16, 2014, 11:19:58 PM
I'd say go ahead and jump in now. Of course, it's all about how financially stable you are and whether or not you can do so, but yes, jump in now! Before it's too late!
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pro sports team accepts Bitcoin: A first for the virtual currency on: January 16, 2014, 11:18:10 PM

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: earn as much as .26 bitcoins for a 3-night stay in New York - btc rewards?! on: January 16, 2014, 11:16:20 PM
I can see this catching one! Offering a small amount of bitcoins for paying for their services in another way. Brilliant!
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: He should've used bitcoin. Idiot lol on: January 16, 2014, 11:14:02 PM
in the near future TSA will make you login to your wallet with a gun to year head (after knee capping you) to show them how many Bitcoins you have.
Then after you show them, they'll proceed to arrest you for not following TSA regulations
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay UK annouces new policy for virtual currencies on: January 16, 2014, 10:47:46 PM
I don't understand why, I see this being a bit hit for Ebay!
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin - My idea to make it better on: January 16, 2014, 10:35:20 PM
I could see a lot of technological problems with this idea... but it would be pretty efficient!
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S. announces forfeiture of $28 million of bitcoins belonging to Silk Road on: January 16, 2014, 10:33:35 PM
Something tells me this isn't all what it seems.. besides, it's not like they can control where Bitcoins go.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a new way to embrace taxes on: January 16, 2014, 10:32:33 PM
Not all taxes can be defined as "an exchange for Government provided services"
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in 5 years on: January 16, 2014, 03:39:20 AM

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 problems with Bitcoin on: January 16, 2014, 03:33:25 AM
I see some people here are very emotional about Bitcoins! Lol, joking aside, let the facts speak for whether Bitcoins are good are not.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: another mention of bitcoin on primetime TV on: January 16, 2014, 03:31:57 AM
although i do not like highlighting the silk road history. The TV show 'person of interest' series 3 episode 13 mentions bitcoin  in context of (kinda loosely) the arrest of DPR.

so thats
the goodwife
simpsons
almost human
person of interest.

big named TV shows mentioning bitcoin

Bitcoin just got a shout out on Criminal Minds. Wasn't in the best light...paying for hookers, but any press is good press?
Lol let's be honest here; a hooker that accepts Bitcoins probably isn't your typical corner-trash hooker. That lady is probably a high-end prostitute!
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens in china on the 31st Jan? on: January 16, 2014, 03:30:06 AM
China banned it as currency, but did not ban the mining and possession of it.
Interesting... wonder if this will prompt the rise of serious Chinese mining.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1000.00 ATMS comming on: January 16, 2014, 03:28:16 AM
this $1000.00 machine and Lamassu machine (https://lamassu.is/) are not ATM's, they are vending machines.  Therefore Licencing shouldn't be required in most countries.
In Australia we have 2 Lamassu bitcoin vending machines already operating.

Now this is an ATM where you can buy and sell bitcoins https://robocoinkiosk.com/ but they're worth $20,000.00 each.

All depends on the country, financial regulations thereof, legal status of bitcoin. You cannot just say "they are vending machines", life isn't that simple.
When speaking in general terms though, I think "vending machine" is perfectly acceptable
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 minutes of crypto history on: January 16, 2014, 03:26:38 AM
