21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AwesomeMiner Coin Updater *Version 0.4* (Plugin) on: March 09, 2018, 02:59:03 AM
ty for this btw. this is amazing  Grin

Yes, thanks Sootha, great work here!
FYI, if anyone is looking for Raven support, put this in your config.json
{CoinFullName: "Raven", CoinShortName: "RVN", Algo: "X16r", BlockReward: 5000, BlockTime: 60, BlockExplorer: "https://rvn.hash4.life/ext/summary", BlockExplorerType: "Iquidus"}

One thing I don't understand though. The difficulty is always far lower than the website difficulty for  new coins, and it looks like it takes a while (even a few hours) to adjust to the correct level. Why not just start with the exact number from the blockexplorer?

Also, I notice that on some explorers, where there is no value for the coin, CoinUpdater will overwrite any manual entries with zero.
For example, my mktcoin entry:
{CoinFullName: "Mktcoin", CoinShortName: "MLM", Algo: "X17", BlockReward: 2500, BlockTime: 360, BlockExplorer: "https://info.mktcoin.org/ext/summary", BlockExplorerType: "Iquidus"}
Whats odd is this coin is actually traded on southxchange, but I get the error "can't find price" for MLM

Thanks!

Man, thats ugly. So at a nominal $100/BTCP, a 1080ti would be making maybe $3.20/day. Totally not worth it!

Is there a mining calculator? I can't even find the difficulty level right now, doesn't seem to be a block explorer out there.

The difficulty you can see here at this pool: http://btcpmine.org/stats
At the moment it is at Difficulty: 402767.2676036526

Ok I don't get it at all. Based on both professional reviews and user reviews, the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is the best paste available if we ignore the cost to buy.
If that's the case, how comes I don't get A SINGLE POINT of Celsius reduction? It was 63 and it's still at 63 on an open case. Could there be something else bottle-necking me? I want to run it silently at night but I can't just reduce the fan speed and let it run at 70C or more!

Why would you expect that? The EVGA FTW3 is doing an amazing job for a 2 slot cooler, considering its 280w base, and you normally would overclock for best performance..which is almost 2x what you'd see out of a 1070, depending on algorithm. 65c is perfectly fine. The card defaults to 84c and is perfectly safe to that point, and even beyond. If you want it to run silent, just set power to, say 80% and set the fans to "quiet" in the evga util, and it'll do just fine, at about 20% reduced perf.
Thermal paste is nothing more than a gimmick on cards like these.

To do what you want, why not just adjust the factor setting under online services for each pool/algo combo?
Seems like this should work?
This is a piece of code from MegaMiner Software

@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_AHASHPOOL=0.7
@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_NICEHASH=1
@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_MININGPOOLHUB=0.8
@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_ZPOOL=0.7
@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_ZERGPOOL=0.5
@@POOLPROFITFACTOR_BLAZEPOOL=0.7

I've tested and I had similar values when testing with identical rigs.

We have to inform users about the fact that some pools are stealing even 50% from your maximum income and that it is mandatory to find solutions and create a plugin that will inform users about real income they will be receiving from these pools.

What do you think ?

This seems...extreme. Do you have evidence or proof that these multipools are stealing that much? 30% for zpool? 50% for zergpool? Seems rather nuts...

It's not that extreme.  Them's just the breaks dealing with profit switching.  You will never get the full amount for a coin mined now by the time it goes to the exchange and back to your balance on these sites.

It depends on the day. if you remain with a lot of orphaned coins on badly exchange management pools, sometimes is worse. That's why everybody should test and only consider the BTC payment amount, as you can see the values from above are predefined into the mining software with the following statement:
"
Pools profit correction factors
--Usually pools revenue is overestimated, this factor allows manual correction (Profit= ReportedPoolProfit * @@POOLPROFITFACTOR)
--This values are based on experience
"

Maybe patrike will finish soon the promised new functionality that will help all users realize that statistics are highly inflated and disable pools that use this practice.  Miners that use these pools own hardware that worth between $50 million and $100 million and the responsibility is very high for software like AM and also for pool managers that have to carefully manage selected exchanges and also coins used to mine.

Have a great day.

Anyone have a good SPR miner? SP_mod supposedly made one.
MLM has dropped below $9/day now on 1080ti, need to find something else.

9$/day? Are you sure? Maybe last week it was like that...

Ugh. You’re right. It’s currently $7.50 Sad

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: excavator by NiceHash - multi-algorithm NVIDIA GPU miner [1.4.4a] on: March 06, 2018, 04:16:19 PM
Running it through awesome miner. There doesn’t seem to be any documentation on how the config file works, seems very confusing. I was just looking for a cli option like ccminer, claymore, etc all have to run on specific GPUs.

If I have a mixed rig with 6 similar cards (1080ti) and 1 different card (Tesla), how can I get Excavator to disable it, so that it can be used elsewhere? Trying to disable card 0 specifically.
There doesn't seem to be a command line option for this...

How are you running excavator? If you're using config file, just don't assign any workers for the specific card.

How to disable an adapter in a mixed rig?
I am trying to figure out how to disable adapter 0 (tesla card) in a rig with 6 other 1080ti cards. Got this working on most mining software except for Excavator, which doesn't seem to have a cli option for this?

Running on TitanXP and its working, but performance isn't quite as good as Excavator 1.4.4. The fork_hp version gets 2.05MH/card vs 2.17MH with Excavator (which also has no devfee).
Any settings you'd recommend tweaking?

Any idea how to do this with an APC managed PDU? (has a webpage to turn plugs on/off)

I keep geeting "please make sure you have skein, C11, Cryptonight, Scrypt, neoscrypt, etc added in your algorithms. But of course, I do have these enabled! Any idea what could be going on?
Also, any support for MLM (mktcoin)

Thanks!

What are you mining to get that?
But, seriously, $15 a day per card? For a few days with a real exchange?
with 2 real exchanges

Can someone confirm that this is actually a 4u rack mount case, with a cover? From what I'm seeing, it appears to be too small for the cards + power cables and power supplies? (I ordered 1 server PSU and 1 atx PSU, was assuming both would fit.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer B8PLUS 8 PCIe Slot Mining Board (Motherboard, integrated CPU) on: February 17, 2018, 01:47:32 AM
Hi, was wondering when the rest of the orders for the 4U case were going out? I placed it on Feb 3 (chassis, msata, RAM and 2200w ps).
Thanks, and Gong Xi Fa Cai!

1080ti is 250w (300w if you overclock), so 8 is 2kw..or 2.4kw. You'll need two power supplies
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer B8PLUS 8 PCIe Slot Mining Board (Motherboard, integrated CPU) on: February 14, 2018, 02:04:50 PM
Planning to put 8x1080ti in mine. These are blower cards, so hoping they'll be ok? with 7 delta fans in the chassis, they should be...?

Got the first part of my order from Jan, but not the 4u case or other parts I ordered on 2/2. Are those coming soon? Haven't seen a tracking# yet
