21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.2c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: April 06, 2019, 04:13:32 PM
warming up is not a case, last time started happening at 5 am, when cards are usually coldest. even during the day, cards run at 45c with fan 21%, 21% is minimum fans can spin
Also tried changing clocks, didnt helped. Running for 6 months on phoenix with same clocks and no problems before this

I had a sort of similar issue and i found 1 card had tilted slightly in its riser. I went and resat all cards and things went back to normal.

This post belongs in the Mining board which is why I recommend you to move it there asap!

Thanks its moved. Mods please feel free to delete.

Hi folks thought I would share the results of my fan mod on Radeon VII and the results were really amazing!

https://youtu.be/LmEf9qP5GbE

Check out the video above. Phoenix Miner was able to get to 110 MH/s. If I had better fans I would have been able to get higher MH/s.

Regards

Is it  with this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5123724 or without ?

Your current HR is equivalent (even faster) to 2X Vega 64 with the on the fly mem tweak, that's really impressive.

It is without the the vega mem tweak. I am also looking at some registry edits. that will allow greater under volting
How does claymore performs on Radeon VII with all your tweaks?

Made you a video!

https://youtu.be/H_JyJxHVhQw

Claymore is not bad but Phoenix is better!

Green kernels do not work on vega 64 or radeon vii

Are they supposed to?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 4.1c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: March 18, 2019, 05:02:03 PM
Thank you PhoenixMiner for your response.
Yes, it is strange because only 2-3 cards have this issue, go under 32.xxx and on both rigs is the same. If it's how you said then all should have the same speed ... this is the theory Smiley
I will try to update also the driver, maybe ... I will change something or I will destroy everything Smiley)

thanks and regards!

I also recommend all cards are seated correctly in any associated risers. All cables firmly in place.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Some Radeon VII and wattman stats and Phoenix Miner on: March 14, 2019, 07:02:51 PM
Hi I put together a video on some of the stats I found for Phoenix Miner and the new Radeon VII gpu.

I hope to soon do a Cooler mod as well and run some more tests.

Thanks to PM team!

For AMD

Code:
PhoenixMiner -pool http://10.69.1.10:8547 -coin clo -mi 14 -cdm 0 -amd -gpus 2345678 -acm -clKernel 2 -gpureset 1 -rmode 2 -log 0 -wal $wallet -worker $worker

For Nvidia

Code:
PhoenixMiner -pool http://10.69.1.10:8547 -coin clo -mi 14 -cdm 0 -nvidia -gpus 1345 -gpureset 1 -rmode 2 -log 0 -wal $wallet -worker $worker

is geth running on same machine?

can you add -v 3 to the command line its for more verbose output.

geth is on a different machine.

-v only prints version and exits - doesn't enable verbose.  -log 2 is supposed to enable debug messages, but doesn't really appear any different.  Here's a full log with -log 2

So same thing here - why is it monitoring a stratum thread and rebooting because of it if we are not using stratum.  Seems like a pretty clear bug to me.

geth --rpc --rpcapi eth --rpcaddr IPADDR --rpcport YOURPORT --mine --miner.etherbase <the-eth-address-where-you-want-to-credit-your-rewards> console

Ok so it is supposed to be supported protocal so try one of these 3 things:

ADD -G see if it will trigger the getwork method.

Claymore command:
-mode 1

Phoenix command:
-gwtime 200 (Recheck period for Solo/GetWork mining default: 200 ms)

see if any of these help.

I'm having the same issue.  I'm mining Callisto (CLO).  I had been using Parity with its built-in stratum support, but since they have not updated their Parity client (rust-callisto) for last week's hard fork, I tried to switch to Geth, which doesn't have stratum - thus needing to switch to the RPC interface for get_work.  This is where the issue comes in.

I am setting the coin on the commandline.

I tried setting a "password' in commandline as suggested above, but that doesn't make a difference.  Over the past few days, I've also tried as many other options as I can.  It appears that the issue is it's connecting on RPC for get_work, but there's still a watchdog for a Stratum thread - but since we're not using Stratum, it sees no activity and bombs out.

See here - you can see that the coin is properly set, has connected to geth successfully, and has started mining, but at 51s, it kills itself because of the stratum thread.

Code:
*** 0:00 *** 3/3 08:18 **************************************

yes geth local connection PhoenixMiner.exe -pool http://192.168.1.12:8545
Other miners are working fine, what could be wrong?

Take a look at post 1. Your startup isnt defining coin corrrectly.

See examples match them as they will still need local user  and password as well.

PhoenixMiner_4.1c

guys what's the problem? he doesn't connect to solo mining through my geth
------------------------------------------------------------------------
and this version works fine  - PhoenixMiner_4.0b_Windows

Have you enabled stratum connections in GETH locally?

if not then you should be connecting via getwork then.

thanks for the quick response i am completely new to this but spend a good amount of time trying to figure this out yesterday .

ok Just was trying to get you to dig for more info was all. Help you learn...

So try these 2 lines... First to see you can just get a connection working... then try with backup pool if it works. The -v is to help error messaging.

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool stratum+tcp://eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -wal 0x6e9219E93f72D45e4c2043Dc2ee43cE6D3DEB088 -pass x -worker rig -v 3

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool stratum+tcp://eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -pool stratum+tcp://us1.ethermine.org:4444 -wal 0x6e9219E93f72D45e4c2043Dc2ee43cE6D3DEB088 -pass x -worker rig -v 3

thanks for the quick response i am completely new to this but spend a good amount of time trying to figure this out yesterday .

very welcome! Its a fun hobby but can make you want to pull your hair out.

I recommend for that type of card start with 9.x driver not 10 in case its too new for card...

Also make sure virtual memory is not to low. For a few cards no big deal usually.

ok  so if understand correctly i should use 9.xxx instead of the 10... i made sure i had most recent drivers but the new one may not be compatible yet is what you are sayin?

You need to check samples in text file. as you are using nvidia you need to define it as platform. its missing from you startup bat...

Try 9.x as its newish. The 10 on that model card may be an issue as it may be too new.. Worst case try 10 if still an issue roll back... Up to you.

Ok so i tried both things i rolled back to 9 no change and then updated again i have also switched from get work to stratum i believe but i know have new errors lol here is the log can someone please help me Smiley

thanks for the quick response i am completely new to this but spend a good amount of time trying to figure this out yesterday .

very welcome!

Try 9.x as its newish. The 10 on that model card may be an issue as it may be too new.. Worst case try 10 if still an issue roll back... Up to you.

I think its the driver being used is an older CUDA driver. Can you upgrade to 9.x?

Also if you can i recommend stratum over getwork.
