21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~7 days! on: July 07, 2014, 11:02:12 PM
I can live with 2-5% increases compared to what we have been getting. I still think a lot of old equipment is getting retired and thats helping the difficulty this time. When the s3 hit en masse it will be interesting to see. I was suprised the knc didn't make more of a difference but i guess since they have allegedly been mining for months with them it would't make a difference if it was true.

I can't see how that is correct. Not trying to be a jerk but its shocking that ltc could be being bought in larger numbers. Unless your talking about ltc being counted as ltc compared to btc as the price difference is huge. Any more opinions here?

Gave it a try! Thanks for the link. I look forward to giving the new intel a try. Wonder how they select who receives one however.

Glad to see Pink back up higher. The new features are getting noticed by more people everyday. And I am staking everyday Smiley more profit for everybody. We should be Hot Pink right now with all the new interest and the poker thing getting ready to start.

if your wanting to mine say x11, x13, or x15 or a few other algo's it would work assuming you have a pci e slot to run a graphics card. I do this with an old athlonx2 4600. Works fine power draw isn't bad.

I would say it depends. I am very small btc holder. I use an online wallet. If I had even 1 btc i would use the offline wallet bitcoin core the latest version of course. The only real disadvantage to an offline wallet is the time to catch up on blockchain. It can take a long time hours and hours. That and if i was desperate and only desperate I could check my online wallet somewhere other than normal. This is an advantage and a huge security hole. Again I would limit my exposure to loss on the online wallet.

I was trying to send it from bitrex to poloniex.  btw Its now showing up on polo as 0 out of 9 confirmations. So it is making it slowly but surely. Just to double check what would your expected time take from wallet to exchange. Maybe this one is a fluke its a small test transfer anyway just want to get an idea of time frames.

How long does it take to transfer these coins to an exchange. Its been 30 minutes and I don't have any confirmations yet. Getting a bit impatient. I guess jpc spoiled me lol

I would hold. You already lost around half. It can't really drop a whole lot more quickly. Short of a crash. So you already lost most of what your going to lose assuming it doesn't go back up. I think its going to take some action from the litecoin association to really get much of an increase. They seem to be in complete denial with no public plans to restore confidence.

I guess I don't. Please tell us more? How about this why would a business WANT to do that? That might be key. Also whats the plan to get all the older owners to try out something they have never seen before? Don't get me wrong you have my attention but if you’re going to hype it up some info would be nice.

Yes, I find myself agreeing with mega in some things. I do wish an exchange would do some due diligence. Sadly the community is failing this terribly and I agree it encourages more scam coins. I myself would use an exchange with enough volume that did that. But to be clear i also support jpc and I am still mining and holding it Smiley

36  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Keeping ASIC Miner(s) from Heating the Room? on: July 05, 2014, 01:33:14 AM
You can build a box around all the units. Usually out of some sort of foam insulation make a hole on the bottom front for fresh air. On the top of back make another hole for exhaust. Run some sort of flexible pipe out window. Problem solved.

Yes this is the super simple explanation but its enough to get you started in searching for the exact design you want. Most do include fans in the exhaust to pull the heat off the asics.

WankCoin is going to be going up slowly but surely very soon. Why you may ask? Because it actually has a market. While it would be nice if porn.com removed btc we have no idea how much they are actually making from this therefore its unfair to ask this of them.
Porn has driven almost every new technology never forget that!.

I am really un happy with the way this has turned out. Why bother with the coin in the first place if you was just going to leave it again SeriousCoin. Being busy is one thing but dropping in for a message now and then is totally reasonable. Anything else is just an excuse. Want me to believe your not even online now lol. No of course not. Finish what you started you was doing good work for a while. Don't blow it now when its in the home stretch.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin trend reversal on: July 04, 2014, 05:34:09 AM
Sad to say it but LItecoin is in a serious decline. Perhaps the litecoin foundation can do something/anything to help project some confidence. New roadmap perhaps. The titanic is slipping and the leadership from the top seem non existent to me at least. In all fairness with all the new scrypt asic's its easy to see why the price is dropping at least a bit.

40  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin difficulty may actually go down in ~10 days! on: July 03, 2014, 08:50:40 PM
This is interesting. I have been thinking and posting a bit about my feelings that the difficulty will not keep skyrocketing. My feelings are some of the new hash rate is canceled out by old equipment going offline. I also thought the last increase was super high but not being an expert by a long ways I just kept watching. And if the next increase is very small or even slightly negative that would tend to prove the theory of the last increase was shall we say a perfect storm.
