21  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: March 05, 2014, 02:56:21 AM
Danny made the point to me recently in a PM, that he is owed what sounds like a considerable sum from Jon/Ukyo/Bitfunder/Weex. And i believe him.
However, we have recently been shown that it matters not, what connections, or skin, or 'knowledge' you have in this game, where you are dealing and relying on someones word.
What i mean is.....how much did Eric V and Charlie S have under Gox's control?
How many days before Mark was forced to bow, was Andreas and Charlie saying that insolvency was not an issue?

Dont get me wrong, im not judging the people named here per se. Its how they approach their judgements, is what i question.

So just relying on Danny's involvement is flawed and based on hope alone........UNLESS WE SEE EVIDENCE OF REAL PROGRESS!

Okay, I see the point now.

Sigh. I did indeed follow the gox saga (before it started, to everything in between like reddit posts, podcasts, Charlie, Eric, etc.)...

Ukyo, did you finally disappear?

Why in the world would he disappear?  That would involve being on the move, looking over his shoulder, etc., etc.  The way things are now, all he has to do is type a few random words every couple of days, and everybody's happy.  With MtGox folding, he's not even news any more.  Give it a few more months, and everyone will stop bugging him.
This is Bitcoin Undecided

Yeah yeah...

Mining difficulty also jumped within the last day right?

The hash rate did jump, but it isn't because of Asicminer, because hash rate is calculated from blocks/s, and since the difficulty readjustment, Asicminer has not mined any blocks, therefore is not the one contributing to the hash rate calculation.

I was thinking about that, someone throw up a website that sends me an SMS text when they solve a block!

AWESOME!

...how annoying that IFTTT, the perfect internet service to integrate with INTERNET MONEY, doesn't support it. Total morons.

I've been watching the MtGox story unfold on Twitter (@twobitidiot seems to have the story and is waiting for his lawyer to give him the OK to post it).

Something about it reminds me of our situation with Ukyo. @MarkFolan1 tweeted this:

"If the #bitcoin "theft" is'n't on the blockchain then #mtgox still have them but can't access them!"

Now doesn't that sound familiar to people who follow this thread?
27  Economy / Securities / HavelockInvestments.com DOWN on: February 26, 2014, 07:55:15 AM
When you visit the homepage, it says: "Database seems down. Sorry about that. We've been notified about the problem. Please try again later."

I really can't wait for a blockchain-based decentralized securities exchange... Havelock should be working on this, not just the regular suspects (Mastercoin, Ethereum, etc.)

Ukyo, is that you?

Yes, just buying more time, as if, you know, I give a shit.
29  Economy / Securities / Re: [Weexchange issue] The fall of Ukyo III - Updates and references on: February 24, 2014, 01:25:38 AM
Why are people so calm?

I have over 10 BTC stuck, and I am calm simply because I spoke to someone with knowledge of the matter and (s)he believes that everyone will eventually get their BTC back. I was told it could take long, there are government agency(ies) involved.

If what you says is right then the correct step would be to involve a lawyer. Simply because when the government really seized the weexchange funds they seem to not understand that these arent weexchange funds but funds of actual people weexchange had in escrow. I dont see a reason that could make it correct to keep normal peoples from their own funds. Or in worst case pay out a single sueing individuals losses from other peoples money. Regardless of if this individual was scammed by an IPO.
Ill do the fourth try to contact the forum lawyer now...

No, I'm not hiring a lawyer when Cryptocyprus has far more coins stuck than I do and has pledged to be the last one to get paid back. No way. Patience has always made me money or helped me not to lose it. Just look at the people selling BTC on Mt.Gox at ridiculously low prices because they fear that the place is insolvent. Instead of waiting for the technical problems to be resolved and get their whole amount back, they panic, and sell to get fiat. Even Andreas A. said he has no reason to believe they are having trouble other than technical.

The problem isn't centralization. The problem is idiots, and that problem will follow you anywhere so long as you've got idiots involved. There's ample proof in my anthology link, if somehow your independent experience has failed to reveal to you this very basic fact of life.

I think of all the smart asses on the Internet that I have see in the past few years, and you are the one with the biggest ego and superiority complex.

Everyone is an idiot to you. Congratulations. In a way, I can't blame you, when there are people handing you 30 BTC just to register on your exchange.

Weird.  Share price rising again to 0.5 Btc.

Low volume is like time slowed down. You have to step back / unzoom your view of what's happening. Look at a 14-day moving average.
34  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: January 24, 2014, 02:09:50 PM
Cheap shares on Havelock. Someone got cold feet and offers us a last chance of obtaining affordable shares! Thanks!  Smiley

lol i've been putting bids by 0,001 of magnitude but there is always someone that immediately outbids me.. manipulation...  Roll Eyes

edit: and when i cancel all my 1share open bids, the guy just cancel his as well and put them back to the lowest bid around 0.45..
so i guess its certainly not going to drop below that.

edit edit: haha and when i buy at the lowest ask, another similar one immediately pops up as well... Grin

Bots following some scheme. I wouldn't necessarily call it manipulation, but yeah it's annoying if you want to buy/sell. And yeah, this may be a 'virtual' wall.

These are just bots that have been instructed to sell at the highest price they can get above a certain lower bound, or to buy at the lowest price they can get below a certain upper bound. They react very fast to any new orders. It's frustrating until you realize that they are orders just like any other and that when fulfilled, they go away.

Not manipulation. I'd use a bot too, but I wouldn't trust them unless I wrote them or reviewed the source code.

Would AM and shareholders be better off, if we stopped solo mining and joined a pool? I realize that it's just variance, but there comes a point where our hashing power(as it stands) will probably be unlikely to solo mine a single block in a weeks time so it might be better to have consistent dividends.

No, please don't give the god-damned pools any more hash power. The variance is fine for AM, they'll win some and lose some but it is more important for the AM team to not miss a minute of time working on the new systems to launch...

The share price is above 0.003 which is great. I look forward to seeing George Papageorgiou at BTCMIAMI this weekend.

Could we have an exterior photo or two of how the flagship branch looks now from the outside and the lobby?
37  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: January 20, 2014, 11:10:15 PM
seems like he can escape with > 1 Mill $.

He plays over time until people give up their money and lose interest.

Are you kidding? Time won't heal this. I am simply being patient, but I will never forget. Don't be a fool. When full bitcoins are at stake (and a nice handful in my case), I'll be coming back to this forum every day to see if anything has developed, indefinitely, until such time I decide to take legal action etc.

That laptop that you "never connect to the internet" -- if I got my hands on it, I bet I could extract the private keys you made with it. Security concern. After generating keys, it should be erased and then fresh installed (use whatever techniques make this faster of course, like images etc.).

"hey ukyo please give us an update where we stand and if we can expect to get our coins back"

Ukyo, how hard is it to just say one of these?

 - "I'm working on it as much as I can but progress is slow."
 - "I'm working on it but it feels hopeless."
 - "I have no time to work on it now." <-- this one would not be something we want to hear, I admit, but fuck, silence is worse. Did you finally "throw your hands up" and give up?
 - "I'm working on it, and there's light at the end of the tunnel. I'll know more in a few days."
 - "There's nothing left to do, the coins are gone, consider them lost. An explanation will eventually be provided."
 - "There's nothing left to do, the coins are gone, consider them lost. An explanation may never come, it's not up to me anymore, my hands are tied."

Bah

If, on the other hand, your account is not an indicator of your involvement with the scene, the comedy becomes a bit darker.

Get ready for some pretty dark comedy. (But there is a bright side, I was chuckling when I noticed your own account is even younger than mine.)
