Yes, Linux is definately the way to go for security and better control and debugging. Windows may be user friendly, but it is a pain to debug anything on Windows. I have spent wasted hours on a problem that was not really there, just because Windows decided it will not work normally for that day. The coin I am currently mining still has no Linux client, but as soon as one is released I will chnge to Linux.

What if the sock muppets are collapsable, you know babushka style? Will there be more? So lets say another 100 in each muppet, not forgetting that each muppet is controlled by an all-knowing hand, so lets say 200. So how many are there now? 10, Patrick is always right.

Yeah, being labelled a "Newbie" is somewhat demeaning.

Hello, now I have to spend even more time getting rid of my newbie rating. Or even overclock everything manually some more.

Since some time I wondered how many people are really actively mining altcoins. What are your estimates?

The coin only altcoin that came out during the last few months that I see a future for is Gridcoin. Their unique mining protocol together with a passionate community and some great devs really give this coin a huge advantage over any other Litecoin or Bitcoin clones.

Hey Pete
How about you start trading Gridcoin, a coin with great future potential? There is no other trading platform that has accepted Gridcoin yet and currently trading is being done over a Google docs spreadsheet - a remarkable amount of trading for a purely trust based instance.

I suggest you start mining gridcoin. They have great future potential and a really innovative dev and community.

I agree, I also have enough of dogecoin. I am currently mining gridcoin and it is paying me out well. Although the setup is a bit more complicated than with usual scrypt miners (because of the BOINC implementation), once its running its easy to manage and you will make some money.

Definately Murray Rothbard for his books on anarchist theory, which then dubbed into anarcho-capitalism. And Max Keiser is extremely entertaining.

I have been mining with a single 7950 since May 2013 on full intensity and ~74 degrees. I did not experience any hardware problems up until now and have made some good profit with it as well. Sorry for your loss.

Happened to me aswell, it's really annoying.

The only thing to mine at the moment is Gridcoin, it really seems to have a future in internet culture, also their dev team and community have been growing since day one and are really behind the project. Its promising new approach to boinc and the implemented cool down timer, that is supposed to make the coin greener, are the way to go for future crypto-currencies. With my 7950, only mining at 500khash, I made about 2 bitcoins up to this point since the launch of the coin and am now investing in a 7 card rig.
