For any Denver or Seattle fans looking to spend some bitcoins to go to the Super Bowl, I am offering my apartment as an alternative to any over priced hotels you might find in the city or around the stadium, and you get to spend BTC instead of $. Here is what I posted to craigslist just to quickly get an ad up. I can send pictures or answer any questions and am willing to negotiate a reasonable price for your stay.
"Fully furnished 1 bed 1 bath, brand new luxury doorman building in Jersey City on the Hoboken border available for Super Bowl Weekend (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun nights) or even possibly the entire week. Easy access to the game and NYC: 15 minute drive to Metlife Stadium, 2 minute free shuttle ride (15 minute walk) to Hoboken PATH and train station (8 mins to NYC, 25 mins to stadium). 60in TV with cable/internet. Washer/dryer in apt. Access to parking garage, gym and roof deck with grills. High floor with full uptown and downtown city views. Please contact for more info or pictures."

I think it would be hard to find real reputable vendors selling stuff for venmo. As far as I know it is really only meant as a friend to friend mobile payment system, not really for businesses. I've heard stories of people having hard time with streams of cash running through their accounts, but just stories from forums, so who really knows.
I'd be able to sell you 2.5 btc now, should have a few more in a couple days but I wouldn't want to sell you them all right away. I have not used localbitcoins yet. I have usually just sold for cash in person but I can take a look

I am looking to sell some BTC and am pretty sure I can cash out to my bank via venmo. I could possibly help you out...

Where are you located. Would be able to sell you some for cash.

I am interested in buying one of these as well. Only thing that concerns me is the 6-8 week delivery time. Makes me wonder if these guys will just be gambling with the money we front and fail to deliver if btc price rises and of course fill the order if it drops. I'm OK with the premium, just wish they would ship out faster

when will these ship out? the website says 6-8 weeks and they go on sale tomorrow. Have they not been made?

With all that being said (which is very helpful), I'll probably go with the paypal dispute. But heres 2 questions.
1) How long does a paypal dispute generally take? i don't expect to hear from him, so i'd rather just speed up the process and have them make a decision.
2) I thought paypal wasn't the biggest fan of bitcoin, will that effect the dispute at all?
How did you send him money? I didnt dig through all the other threads so sorry if you said it somewhere already. Did you send as gift to friend or as a payment for a service?

Has anyone done any transaction in NYC face to face recently. Since the price has shot up I have found it harder to find people willing to do face to face.
|
|
|
I made craigslist posts and would chat back and forth until we felt comfortable enough to exchange phone numbers, then pick a place and time to meet up. I probably did 10+ transactions for 30+ btc total. Now craigslist is filled with referral links, scams, etc so it doesnt seem to work for me anymore....
|
|
|
Well what I meant was has anyone had many good face to face transactions recently. I miss the time when I could go wait at a starbucks, do a trade, chat with the other guy for a bit about how they are involved with bitcoins while we waited for confirmations. Plus you got to know on the spot that transaction was good. Good memories selling 15+ btc to one guy and counting all those bills in the middle of a starbucks (sold them for around 100 bucks), too bad I didn't wait a few months and all those 20s would have been 100s!

Has anyone had any luck buying/selling BTC in NYC recently. I was pretty active from June-October (30+ btc bought/sold), but since price shot up seems to be alot of people just scamming/wasting time. I used to use craigslist to find people to deal with. Now its just all referal links, and sketchy stuff. Localbitcoins hasnt been great either. Any other suggestions? Thanks guys!
