Network #rate shows this coin is getting the love it deserves, over 700kh/s today has reached over 800 at times, i think it needs more time on the other exchanges before noble hits cryptsy, lets make it strong, this coin is not a pump and dump & deserves good stature.

I agree. The network hash has been rising well over the last week, and the introduction of a couple small exchanges gave the coin some value.

If it's rushed to the bigger exchanges, we'll possibly see the nethash and diff rise quickly as bigger miners come in to capitalize on that extra value - which may leave Noble as just another alt-coin, which it really isn't.

Given the coins age (2/3 weeks?) I think the growth of the network, both on and off line, has been great, and it really has been a pleasure to be involved.

So, I've had a quick look through the MPOS code, and it shouldn't be too difficult to create a "donate to NOBLE cause" box - it'd be simpler still to just reuse the site donation, and send to another address.

I may look at introducing the latter tonight if the demand is still there. If it all works well, I'll try and fork on GIT so that other pool operators can check the code if they're interested too.

Also, for all you dashboard watchers, we've changed our nethash scaling to GH/S for the time being, so if your screen currently says 0.91 MH/S, it's time to hit F5 Wink

Also, come mine with us.. Because of reasons and things.

Hi,

Does anyone know, where i can contact pool admin at noble.pool-mining.com

i want to edit my account, and there is need confirmation email to unlock. So , i unlock, but there is no email sent, i try it three times, still not receive email. i check all include trash.

when i try to contack through site, there is an error with captcha field, so my message doasn't sent.

Thank you.

i don't know what i have to do, without change detail, how can i withdraw my coin in this pool.
 Huh Huh Huh

I'll send him a PM and he should get in touch, his username on these forums is also 'pool-mining'. He regularly unlocks accounts so he should get back to you ASAP.

Thank you for your help, hope this will fixed soon.

Hey sorry guys, I was sleeping Smiley

After the Zapto hack, we changed the pool to require email confirmation of pretty much any change you make to your profile. It seems we didn't fully test that change. I've just gone in this morning and reverted back to no confirmation needed until it can be tested further.

It also seems as though quite a few people took advantage of us not requiring a "real" email address on signup, which is fine, however, we now require you to login with email address and not username - so I hope you can all remember your fake addresses. (If not, send me a PM and there's a pretty quick way for me to help out)

Both these changes came as part of the newer MPOS software we installed, to mitigate against accounts being hacked.

For now, if anyone needs support - please either PM me here or see if I'm around in the IRC channel. We're working on a better system of support at the moment, but it's not ready yet.

When watching this chart, when it's better? When the actual shares are over expected shares (orange line above blue) or under? Or it doesn't matter?

With a lucky block, the Orange will be below the Blue, for unlucky the other way around. Because of the quick blocktime, a pool's appearance can change relatively quickly.

With the Bottom chart, the most important column is the percentage. 100% would mean that, you're finding as many blocks as your hashpower suggests. So over would be unlucky and under lucky. I think, over longer periods of times, most pools will tend towards 100-110%.

I am sorry to say that earlier this morning, my pool (Zapto) was hacked.
They managed to withdraw all funds,
As we do not know the backdoor or route they used,
WE ARE CLOSING OUR POOL
I will remain an active part of the noblecoin community (I'm a miner myself)
I wish this could have gone better.
My bots will remain unaffected,
I apologize,
Icecube45

I'm sorry to hear this. I liked the Zapto pool, and it's a shame to see it go.

In light of this news, http://noble.pool-mining.com will be setting ALL accounts to anonymous today, and we'll be setting the default status to anonymous also. You'll be able to choose to drop the anonymity, but the "anonymous" setting will become opt out, rather than opt in.

We've also noticed quite a few accounts don't have autopayment set. We've decided, again, to set all accounts to 1 NOBL auto payment. Feel free to modify this if you need, but the less money in the wallet, the less can go missing. This change will be a one off, and will happen later this morning.

We've also already changed our auto lockout process. We have set the incorrect PIN and Incorrect Password counters from 5 to 3. This is back to MPOS default, and it will mean extra work for us unlocking accounts.

Hopefully you don't think we're overstepping the mark, but security of our users has to be our top priority. We think that by reducing the amount of money in the central wallet, and by hiding the majority of our users, we'll become a smaller target and the chance of being brute forced are lower.

We've also started taking more steps to secure our infrastructure. We've started adding more web frontend servers, these are based on a different image - for you this means that should the server you're connected to be replaced, you may have to login again. This will only affect the website.

We're also planning to implement SSL, but this may take a little longer than the above as we assess the impact on the website a whole within our test system.

As has been mentioned before in this thread, please also use different user/password/pin combinations for all pools.

Again, been a few pages, I feel dirty for it, but here comes a little ad.

noble.pool-mining.com
0% fees
0 transaction fee
PPLNS payouts
Auto payouts from 1 Noble

Noble is our first live coin, and holds a special place. We're pretty sure we can continue being 0% for the foreseeable future mainly due to such awesome community

I don't get it. Do these people expect something in exchange for this valuable information?

they are bot

Really, I prefer the term Possibly Automated, Otherwise Overly Optimistic.

With diff this low, you'd probably make more joining a Pool (*cough*), or a giveaway thread rather than begging.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 16, 2014, 04:24:43 PM

And also, I'd just like to thank the current miners! The fees are so low because the donations are so high!!!! You guys are great!!

I'd like to extend this thanks to all the miners over at pool-mining.com too. Since dropping the fee to 0%, the donations have made up for the shortfall.

We'll be using this "extra" to ask a favour shortly, but I'm going to wait another day before launching that.

Regardless of where you're mining though, you guys all rock, I love this coin Smiley
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 15, 2014, 07:41:12 PM
I'm on http://noble.pool-mining.com/ and it seems to be pretty solid, I would suggest it as well.

Thanks for the endorsement, I'm not going to lie - I noticed our hash increase when you started mining earlier Wink

Just a quick note, we were under a lot of load earlier today (it seems to have dropped off a lot the last hour), this meant that some of our webservers got a bit sluggish. It seems to be over now, so things are returning back to normal.

It didn't affect stratum or payouts, as they're on other servers, but signups and dashboard sometimes wouldn't work. If anyone continues to have issues, please let me know as it may mean the server you're on needs a reboot.

I cannot login on the valid-error pool... anyone?

They moved to http://noble.validerrorpool.com/, which should be working OK.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - 2014] [NOBL] = NobleCoin = on: January 14, 2014, 02:32:42 PM
It's been a few pages since I promoted my pool, so here goes..

http://noble.pool-mining.com
0% Fee
0 Transaction charge
25 Noble block finders fee
50 Block Confirm, and auto withdraw as low as 1 Noble
IRC chat integrated into Dashboard (join the coin devs and most pool operators right from your browser)
We've also found over 230 blocks in the last 24 hours
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - 2014] [NOBL] = NobleCoin = on: January 14, 2014, 12:34:27 PM
Whats with all the JSON stratum errors on validerror pool?

I just pointed some of my miners at them and didn't get any JSON errors, could you share what the error says - maybe we can help while the pool owner gets some sleep? There's a couple of things which could cause errors such as that, so more detail may help narrow down the issue.

It appears to be my failover pool (pool 1), so validerror is fine Smiley

OK, great!

Unless I'm your failover pool, in which case (boo!) Wink

Since our block explorer is also currently offline (and I don't like how that looks regarding our transparency) I would also like to offer a bounty for anyone who can set up for us a second and even third block-explorer, so we have a few in different locations. Please PM me, thanks.

I'll also be online for the next 16 hours or so until these pool issues are smoothed over and expect to have everyone sorted. Thanks for everyone's patience.

If it was still basically BlockCrawler, Pool-Mining's is running OK...

could a tax rate based on hashrate be implemented?... at least for a short time Huh

The problem isn't really the pool hashrates, it's the net hashrate.

My pool, has averaged between 25MH/s and 15 MH/s most of the day (currently at the lower end, had a few long rounds the last hour or two) and Valid Error has been sat in the 50's most of the day (some wild swings for both, but otherwise pretty constant). Our pools are remaining pretty stable, but the net hashrate (maybe not totally accurate all the time) has been swinging from under 100MH/s to over 200MH/s.

It the net rate that's making Valid Error go over 50% so regularly, which is not the fault of the pool. In the last hour, the combined hashrates of http://noble.pool-mining.com and http://noble.valid-error.com/ have been around 70/75MH/s, but the total Network Hashrate has been 180 at a high, and 86 (now) as a low. Unless something is reporting wrong in the network hashrates, it means our two pools are anything from 40%, to 85%+ of the total for the coin - and that's with nothing really changing in the two pools themselves.

If we can manage the massive swings in total hashrates, then it's possible to manage the pools, but pool operators can't balance hashrates very well in this situation. If I were to up my fee's to 5%, it may take several hours for miners to notice - and leave - by which time, the total net hashrate may have exploded thus negating the need for a single pool to reduce users, hurting the pool and not having much effect on the coin at all.

I don't know how you'd manage the total network hashrate, but I think we all agree we need to see it either stabalise, or grow at a steadier pace - rather than swing wildly 150% in a matter of a couple hours...

All that being said, my pool will be retaining 0% fees until at least Monday (or if we go above 50%, unlikely) to try and retain the total net hash rate we currently have. I'm looking at putting in higher block rewards too, but given the 0% fee, I'm not sure I personally have enough in my wallet to make this that attractive.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN – NEW COIN 2014] [NOBLE] = NobleCoin = Ticker: [NOBL] on: January 10, 2014, 01:43:29 PM

The problem seems that the other pools are not retaining the workers they end up leaving my pool when I do a increase in fee to correct the 51% issue. I will do the increase of fee yet again, but other pools need to retain their workers.

I can only speak for our pool but this does look plausible.

When Valid-Error fee's rose, our hashrate rose quite a bit too. We instigated 0% fee's in an attempt to keep some of the hashing, but as soon as Valid Error's fee's dropped so did our workers.

We're going to keep the 0% fee and the block finder bonus over the weekend, and review again afterwards. Thankfully, because of donations, and the amount of good luck we've had the last couple days - running at a loss can run for a good while, hopefully until we can balance the pools naturally.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN – NEW COIN 2014] [NOBLE] = NobleCoin = Ticker: [NOBL] on: January 09, 2014, 04:39:41 PM
We're finding blocks at a really good rate today, but could really do with some more power - because there's always need for more coins.

http://noble.pool-mining.com
1% Fee, No Transaction charge, PROP payment and we just paid out our 100,000th coin (20th block - since yesterday)
