Hey guys,
I'm having problems with the torrent file "credits-win-2015-06-03.torrent" that is suppose to help sync the QT wallet a little faster. Getting a failed to read block error. Just passing along the info.
Oh, this is on the 9.1.73 beta version win 64 bit

I don't think you can use the torrent files on version 0.9.1.73, as the torrent files are from a previous version. The current version requires parsing of the bitcoin blocks in their original state and compressing them. You could use an earlier version of the wallet, I believe the last most stable version is 0.60 for GPU mining, and that version can be initialized from the torrent files. Welcome to the CRE! Sorry your first experience is with a beta wallet

Just another beta report, linux creditsd only syncing, been snycing for 20hrs and am at around 55%, block 324,331. Seems to be around the same as before if not slightly faster on linux, but no stoppage along the way. On another note, graffitidice.com is going offline and a lot of their users are moving to use Credits instead, and migrated their balances to creditsdice.com (I compensated, seeing as graffitidice.com had an administrator go rogue and withdraw all their funds. The owner is compensating investors and me in the future). This means more people joining our community! If you're one of the new miners from there, welcome Gabriel gave me a list of things he wants on a roadmap, I'm just working on creating a nice graphic for us and will post it here. I can say I'ts pretty exciting, and some of the features that will be added to the wallet are unique and never done before in crypto-currency. It will help us stand out, and make some news .

Update on coming release
Due to the difficulties in getting the release correct with regards to speed on initial sync on Windows, I have decided to postpone parts of the updates, since these issues have stalled development long enough. Disk usage optimisations will however be included, to further shrink the size on disk. A beta release (0.9.1.73) will be done today. Further info to come.
Maybe through various upgrades you will manage to eliminate the issue, i.e. moving to latest bitcoin core. Still, it is good to see an upgrade and some movement. Are there any new functionalities being added as well? On a separate note, anyone enjoying those ridiculously low prices? Yes, was just about to pick myself up some cheap CRE Take advantage while you can haha. Also, movement on the development/bug fix front is great! Must be frustrating to have been stuck with that small speed issue but good to see things are moving forward now! I was planning on setting up a new signature campaign as well, now that we have an exchange to trade on and a bit more stance in the crypto-sphere, so look out for that!

Wow! This is extremely good news, I was kind of bummed seeing how I use Linux and thought the improvements weren't going to affect me... Great to hear that it's a boost on ALL operating systems! Wishing good luck to the beta testers, unfortunately I'm away and can't help! :/

Can i download the credits blockchain safely somewhere? It would take ages to wait for the 22 weeks to download... i have fast internet but still, p2p is not the fastest. So a direct download link would be good.
There's a bootstrap torrent p2p but no direct mirror anywhere yet, I will look into setting that up, and will mention to gabriel. That's a good idea and a good point though, I hadn't thought of it! I only found bitcoin bootstrap.dat's from 2014 max. Though i found the start option -bitcoin-loadblock and since i have a bitcoin-qt, i tried to point it to its blk00000.dat. When credits wallet starts then it verifies some blocks but it seems those are only the ones it already downloaded itself. Since later it starts downloading from where it ended again. How can i import the wallet? My bitcoin-qt has one blk00000.dat for 2 GB, next is 1GB and all other are 131MB. Is it possible to import the blockchain with that? I'm not sure if the trimming of block files is actually done during the sync or not, but if not then you might be able to import it and then run a re-index.. but that would take just as long as downloaded from scratch. My advice is to initialize not from a 2014 BTC torrent, but from the pre-packaged credits-BTC block files and working directory. I am looking for someone to change and add some features.
1-) Being able to change %chance as well as multiplier. 2-) Add a background image ( I already have the image) 3-) Add autobot so people can bet automatically.
and also if possible
4-) Add coinback program like betterbets but for everybet. You get (win or lose) %0.1 of all your wagered back to you no matter what is the outcome.
So far these.
Looking for someone to be able to do this. The program is already on github , you can check there.
Escrow is a must.
PMed you

Source makefile's need to be updated for linux compilation, at least on ubuntu 14 64-bit.
Just a heads up to the dev! Had a lot of trouble, can I suggest some documentation for other OS's?

Any news on the new wallet?
I can't find it anywhere. I don't mind beta testing it if needs be.
Hey Markov, thanks for the offer. See the post above for info regarding some unforeseen problems in the final stages of testing. Would you like me to publish a binary that you can do beta testing with? No problem. Send me a link in PM and I'l pick it upin 2 hours once at home. Here's a publicly available pre-release that you can test from: http://credits-currency.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=17428Feel free to experiment with it, instructions are in the post. Get back to me if you want to test and let's see how it goes. Quick update from me: I'm still syncing the blockchain after 12 hours on 2 different systems, 1 on Windows 10 and the other on Linux. It seems to take a lot more time than it did last time I did it in full. I'll let you know where it stands in about 12 hours. Markov I'm finding the sync is quite a bit more lengthy too after crashing my laptop with my wallet open and having to rebuild it. From scratch on an Quad core AMD ~2.2 Gh.z laptop its taken over 2 and a half days and I have 16 weeks left on the CRE chain. P.S. DUMP CRE ON MY FACE BROS What system are you on? I've got 2 different machines and the Linux Arch was a lot quicker but it is with an i-4790k so quite a lot more powerful than my Windows 10 laptop with an i3. Gabriel, the Windows 10 seems to be lagging. It was fully synced yesterday but now saying it is 4 hours behind. I'm running win8 OS at the moment. it's been 3 days syncing.. *only* 12 weeks left on the CRE chain it says thoough. To be fair, you've had slow sync times since day 1, so I think your own equipment has a slight role in that slow sync

So when i understand it correctly then Proof of Deposit is, unlike staking, only working when you mine credits with POW. Since i dont mine POW its out of question for me.
Then the distribution means that all bitcoin addresses that held bitcoins in the last three months hold credits too?
Then if you dont have a standard bitcoin wallet how to claim them?
By the way... all future bitcoin users? You dont exchange your bitcoins to credits, right? Then if i claim credits and then send bitcoins the bitcoins to someone then this user cant claim credits for the same bitcoins, right?
Gabriel can answer the second half of your question better, but regarding POW, you don't even have to contribute hashing power to mine CRE. You can offer the deposit to a miner that needs a deposit to contribute work. There's 2 things needed for block validation, work (POW) but also deposits (POD). POW mining is not the only way to "get" credits

Any news on the new wallet?
I can't find it anywhere. I don't mind beta testing it if needs be.
A release will be added to credits-currency.org tonight. Still preparing a pre-synced working directory. I'll add some more info in a few hours. Awesome, that pre-prepared directory is a life saver. Thanks!

I've heard good news about the release being nearly ready! Ccex incoming, new sig campaign starting soon, the Proof of Deposit aspect of credits is about to show its guns, we're entering an era of Credits that we've never seen before! I'm excited, I don't know about you guys

I have downloaded the wallet and fired it up.
I notice you have to download the bitcoin blockchain.........
I already have a fully up to date bitcoin node, is there any way I can import this into the wallet rather than download it all again?
Your coin looks promising by the way
Yes! You can import your bitcoin privkey into Credits I'm fairly certain, with this wallet version. Then you would only have to use one client!

Some notes on the coming release
It has been very difficult to get the improvements correctly into place, therefore the coming release, 0.9.1.70, has been delayed.
I believe I am on top of things right now however, and kindly ask you to have some more patience. I'll add updates here as soon as I have some reliable results.
We are currently in the first spot on the C-Cex voting list. Therefore I've asked C-Cex managers to hold the addition of Credits to the exchange until the coming release is done.
Time is necessary to get things in place, including testing though. Having a stable a good client is what we want and will have, and the new users that join our community from ccex will see that we have a hard working and dedicated developer. Thanks for all your work! As for the exchange, I'm just excited to see what our volume will be like!
