21  Economy / Services / Re: Graphic designer to hire on: August 28, 2015, 01:22:14 PM
I like the logo you created for your company. It's better than most i have seen on bitcointalk. It is matching over all.

Though i think you might want to post some more products of your work in the thread. I doubt that many will search on your website. If there are more, since i didn't bother either. Tongue
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Trading on: August 26, 2015, 01:46:06 PM
You don't need any broker in order to trade bitcoin. You will only need fiat money and an exchange that is legally allowed to operate in your country. If you are from the USA I would suggest you to use the Coinable exchange since it's the most trust worthy one.

I am still searching for creative ways to convert my fiat into bitcoin without directly buying bitcoins because that shows a proof that you own bitcoins, and what is worth was when you purchased it, which is a conflict with your privacy because even the govt doesn't deserve to know how much you own and where it is invested, they didn't buy it, you did.

You might want to check out NuBits and BitUSD. You can hold coins instead of fiat and you can hedge against a falling bitcoin price by holding them. On top you don't need to have laying your fiat on exchanges.

Nubits already survived a couple of big crashes and they still are alive and stable.
23  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO who raised workers’ minimum pay to $70K hits predictable problems on: August 26, 2015, 01:08:40 PM
I think a minimum wage is usefull as far as it means protecting the state, that are we, from sponsoring bad business models. I mean the state has to support all the workers that don't have enough to live. Which means we all pay that.

So now when an employer calculates that in he can pay less. But we sponsor his bad business model.

There has to be a limit that high that a worker can live from a fulltime job.
24  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO who raised workers’ minimum pay to $70K hits predictable problems on: August 26, 2015, 01:04:03 PM
What an idiot.... income inequality will be there as long as differences in experience and skills exist. Someone who is working in the McDonald's with less than two years of experience can't expect to get the same salary, which is given to someone else who is having 30-years of experience and working as an electrician.

The problem with income inequality isn't because what someone working at macdonald's makes less than someone working as an electrician.

Watch anybody who supports this find some way to blame those people who left, oh wait, people are already trying to, some people really don't understand how the real world fucking works until it hits them in the face, much like this CEO.

I don't blame those who left. But I would have gone further than that ceo. I would have turned the company into a cooperative. Doesn't mean everyone would be paid the same of course. But the people working there would have a much greater incentive to work than what they made versus their colleges then. That's the best way to address inequality.

I'm not sure that the idea of a corporative is so great. Sure, it would make them work, but will you give away hundreds of thousands to normal workers one day when your company is huge?

On top... a corporation means risks to the employees too. They are legally liable for debts the company has. So when the company goes down then the workers go down too. Who wants that?
25  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Can I file a lawsuit against someone who owes me Bitcoins? on: August 26, 2015, 12:17:45 PM
Ha, yeah. I have text messages as evidence and screenshots. Also have receipts and text messages for the money transfers.  Also I live in nyc

All depends if the person lives in the US, ive had people cut and run with 10's of thousands and tried to contact their law enforcement and was in these word:

We do not recognize this online currency we can't and will not waste resources for something that holds no real physical value.
I was then informed of other channels we could try and use but they all basically said the same thing. Most European countries are this way.

I live in a state were it is legal tender so if they also lived in my state its considered a currency.
The cash proofs is enough but the legal fee's dealing with someone outside the US isnt worth it and your better off taking it as a 4.5k investment in knowledge.

But if they live in the US sue them im sure you can find someone online that can find you all the info you need.

Where do you live? As far as I know Bitcoin is not recognised as legal tender anywhere, so it's interesting to hear about this.

To the OP - yes you have a legitimate claim for those Bitcoin if they were listed down as agreed payment in a contract, whether for the performance of services, a bill of exchange or anything else. The fact that Bitcoin is not legal tender does not detract from the fact that it can be used as a method of payment; I can even agree to be paid in toothpicks and it wouldn't make a difference. A contract is a form of supreme law between the parties who contract, as long as it is not contrary to the general law of the jurisdiction in which the contract is formed or performed. Therefore, as long as payment in Bitcoin is not illegal, then it can be used as a method of payment and no one can interfere.

I'm a lawyer who specialises in Bitcoin and Virtual Currencies, so if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

It does not have to be a legal tender. I mean diamonds or art is not legal tender either and you still can claim them stolen. It's the value that matters. If someone doesn't accept that then go to his superiour officer.
26  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-Games.net] ★Signature Campaign★ | Jr. - Full Members [OPEN] on: August 26, 2015, 12:06:55 PM
I would like to change my bitcoin address, please help to update my new address.

My new payment address - 16QzPCY9fuTTUXt2tYTujWhBHdTQFK7bbq

Thanks

I think you need to sign a message with the previous address you used. So that it can be ensured that you did not hack that account and that you are the real owner of that account.

28  Other / Meta / Re: If there are certain threads I like in BTT, is there a way to get an RSS feed? on: August 20, 2015, 07:11:11 PM
I only know that there is a way to get a feed for certain subforums. For example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=7.0;type=rss;action=.xml;sa=news&limit=50

Will give you the 50 newest Posts of Economics subforum. Simply put the board number in and the limit.

Saying that... you might want to experiment if that works with threads somehow too. Normally the easy solution should be to get a notification mail for these threads. Simply click on notify on the top right or bottom of that thread.

Thunderbird then could move the mail to a directory you specify.
29  Other / Meta / Re: next activity period ? on: August 20, 2015, 07:01:12 PM
I liked your Applet made in PHP for potential Activity Calculation , can you share the source code so that i can allow do more modifications.
Let me know your responses.
I am getting this Message: Sorry max posts allowed in DEMO MODE is 200, full version supports upto 10K posts

where is the link for Full version?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148647.0
the one in that thread have no limitation. it can be really slow depending on your post count. maybe because the forum doesn't allow more than 1 access per second.

That website actually is using a free open source script from this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148181

You can host your own bot to calculate the potential activity of a forum account. Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I have a ton of old bitcoins I want to sell, how do I handle the taxes? on: August 20, 2015, 06:35:57 PM

Even if that is the case... he can't proov anything of that. Even when he would show the last address these coins came from, it would be less than a year since he claimed he moved it around all the time. No proof that he held them for a year.

And probably he sold and bought them all the time anyway.
31  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I have a ton of old bitcoins I want to sell, how do I handle the taxes? on: August 20, 2015, 06:34:04 PM
I have a ton of bitcoins from about '09 that I've decided I want to start selling them off. The problem is, over the years, they have been moved around a lot. Different exchanges, back and forth between exchange-money and bitcoins, many times, but I've never put them into my own bank account. I mean maybe a few here and there, but whose counting. The problem is this, most if not all of the exchanges I ever used are gone. Shut down. Inaccessible. It also goes without saying that these are certainly not the same coins I had years ago.

I was thinking of just selling them off over time, declaring that transaction that makes it to my bank as capital gains, paying the tax, and being done with it. I don't see any way I can get history of all those micro transfers over the years. I've talked to tax lawyers, they haven't a clue on anything about bitcoin. They told me to just treat it as the single sale of a commodity (each bank withdrawal), pay tax on the capital gain, and be done with it.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I want to reiterate the sheer amount of bitcoins I have. Selling them all at once would absolutely crash the market, which I do not want, and the amount is certainly high enough to potentially warrant an audit, so I want to prepare for that. I don't plan to take any deductions so I don't think the audit risk is too high. I have no objections to paying taxes and want to make sure I do it correctly.

That is a VERY difficult topic i had to deal with too.

Lawyers have no clue, right. Though you might meet lawyers that are specialized in bitcoin. Every country should have such. Ask the exchanges in your country which lawyers they use.

Then... the problem is you can't proof anything. Of course you can claim profits, the IRS will happily take your money for that but you can't proof your expenses. And the thing is, you need to proof expenses and the IRS need to proof you had income.

So i think be cautious and maybe do as you thought to do. Though you should be able to explain where the money comes from. If you explain you won it by trading on an exchange that is gone and you only have your notes anymore then that is what they will accept.

I know this is a VERY fearsome topic. But in your situation you can't go back or forth really.

Good luck with that.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal for a new mining method. Mining with bandwidth. on: August 20, 2015, 05:28:45 PM
I read about a new mining method from tribler project: https://github.com/Tribler/tribler/issues/23

Can you explain this a bit more? He writes about donating harddisc space so how does the "mining with bandwith" works?

I have 100Mb/s, so i would like to know if i could earn from that. Tongue

But i fear the only way to make money from that to justify the usage would mean risk for me. I mean what is down- and uploaded? Copyrighted things maybe? And is there the possibility to get a virus?
33  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Request: Peer review my brainwallet concept on: August 20, 2015, 05:18:39 PM
I would be already happy when a website would offer the signature verification tool. It was a very quick and easy way to copy paste a signature and check it there. Wallets and coinig need 3 times copy past, including carefully chosing the signs to copy.

I would like to have this tool. I don't need anything other that was on brainwallet.org. I guess bringing that tool online would be no risk at the moment right? So hopefully someone does.
34  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Binary Options Bring ‘Immense’ Opportunity for Bitcoin Users on: August 20, 2015, 02:47:12 PM
awesome article, secondstrade.com also does this, i have never tried it myself Cheesy

Yes, they do. But you have to deposit 200 or 300 USD before you are allowed to start.

And then you should check out the web of trust ratings. Deep red. People complaining about being not able to withdraw their money and such things.

I would not touch it after being warned by others that way.

And i wonder why binary options are needed. You simply could use trading with leverage and you would be able to do the same. Only with much more possibilities on your side.
35  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB - Your Coin For My Cash (Paypal) on: August 20, 2015, 02:38:22 PM
Hm... are these scam attempts happening now so often that forum members not even bother anymore to warn newbies that it is way too dangerous to accept paypal?

Would be saddening somehow.

At least no one asked interested on here but maybe by pm? Roll Eyes
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Promoting a Bitcoin business on: August 20, 2015, 12:23:02 PM
In your shoes i would start a service announcement thread in the matching subforum on bitcointalk.

You don't want to pay ads you said but i would suggest it. Simply do it cheap. The advantage would be that you can check out if the traffic coming from that sources is converting. You drop the ones that don't convert and keep the converting one, so you can scale up your sales.

Then, if you want to spread the love a bit further by spending money, you can contact carra23 or any other signature campaign overseers and ask them to create a campaign. Then users will be paid for promoting your website on the forum.

Third thing would be to take part in the auction for adspace on bitcointalk directly.

I think bitcointalk is an ideal place for your matter.

Besides that... i have heard bitcoiners had great success by contacting websites related to bitcoin and checking out if advertising there is worth it. So brings something back.
37  Other / Meta / Re: Your IP HAS SOME EVIL POINTS? on: August 20, 2015, 12:14:25 PM
Smells like you are being scammed or whatever. Don't pay shit to anyone if asked.

No, that is no scam. That is when you register a new account on bitcointalk and you use an ip that was previously banned. That only should ensure that a scammer or spammer isn't simply creating the next account and starts over.

With the fee it costs a bit and might make it not worth anymore to scam or spam.
38  Economy / Auctions / Re: PocketRocketsCasino.eu - FOR SALE- 3080 BTC PROFIT - Bitcoin gambling site on: August 20, 2015, 12:07:45 PM
Besides that... i agree it will be hard to get an escrow for that amount of money. It's fearsome to hold that much i imagine. And even established escrows might run since it might be that that amount of money is enough to throw their morals over board.

I disagree with this part. My personal integrity has no dollar limit to it. If someone offered me $1 billion, and had it, in cash, right now, asking me to do something I disagree with, it would affect nothing. I don't care if others could live with my decision -- I care that I wouldn't be able to. And to me, stealing by using someone's trust is the ultimate act of betrayal. I wouldn't even steal from someone I absolutely hate, much less someone I don't.

You are right. There are certainly honest people on the forum. For example dooglus, who held thousands of bitcoins on his dice-site and he paid them all back when he decided to stop using bitcoins. Or some escrows held thousands of coins over time or at one time and they paid it back.

Saying that... i'm with you, i never would scam, regardless of the amount. BUT. We might be made this way. That does not mean that all others are so too. I mean you have read the scam accusation against Maidak? Once a very trusted legendary member. Then he decided to take on deals he knew he could not solve. He still owes thousands of dollars now.

And there are others i know that would turn scam the moment they would have enough coins.

Only because you and me would never do that... there are others that would.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why i will support bigger blocks - and you should too on: August 20, 2015, 11:58:59 AM
Still don't understand why people don't want to let the block limit increase

because no limit is not a good idea ... when you want excluded (and monitoring) SPAM traffic.
that why i don't trust XT ... and i prefer a PHYSICAL LIMIT to 2-4-6 or 8MB for 3-4 months to see what it's happend.

I don't understand the argument that no block size limit would fill the blockchain with spam. I mean the blocks up till the spam attack, which was costly for the one doing it, were not filled up nearly.

So when we would drop the block size limit, why suddenly should there be a lot of spam bringing the blocks to 20 MB? When it didn't happen till now then there is no reason to assume that it will happen then.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why i will support bigger blocks - and you should too on: August 20, 2015, 11:54:51 AM
Still don't understand why people don't want to let the block limit increase

Heya Smiley

Off the top of my helmet:

1) They want it to be easier to maintain the full chain / full node, not harder
2) They don't think block size affects use / adoption rates (rather it affects logistics, fees)
3) They want to encourage alt-coin use Wink

Point 3... what is a lightning network other than an altcoin? Roll Eyes It might be a sidechain but still it is not bitcoin.

Point 1... If you think it is easier to handle only a couple of big transactions then you are right. With a block size limit of 1 we would turn bitcoin into a high value transportation system with fees compareable to paypal. And we would get far away from what satoshi wanted, providing an alternative to the current fiat system. That would only work with small transactions possible and that means the transaction can't be worth less than it's fee.

Point 2 is nonsense. I don't think they don't think so. They know it will be so. They only think that instead users will use their sidechain then. Bringing them personal profits.

This developer team is so corrupt at the moment. It's no fun watching at. Roll Eyes
