Without widespread adoption, the market is entirely speculative. When a market is entirely speculative, it is far more voaltile and vulnerable to emotion, because you can't just look out your window and see people enjoying Bitcoin and be reassured by that fact, thereby preventing a panic selloff.

Don't worry. Price will go back down, that'll make fees "cheap" again.

23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't worry, Bitcoin will be fine. on: August 13, 2018, 09:58:57 AM
If you don’t need the money in a hurry, I say calm your tits and hold. I think in 3 years your profits so far will look like peanuts. If you sell now you’ll be kicking yourself later.

24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for bitcoin Price Drop? on: August 13, 2018, 09:14:09 AM
I see a lot of "hodl" posts with no reasoning behind it.

Here is mine :

I'm with you as I'm more "afraid" to lose my coins than the fiat I exchanged for it.

If I had to choose, I'd rather have the coins.

Dealing with databases daily, I can't say no to a technology making it obsolete with blockchain.

Yes losing money sucks, but being part of, I believe, what's the next mass adopted tech is just not something I can't say no to.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: August 13, 2018, 08:33:55 AM
I'm probably among the lesser biased here. I am holding my XRP because I realized it's safer to just keep my investments still. I came for the moon, stayed because I got in at $0.70 and it's still >$0.70 after the entire market crashed. Waiting to see if there's growth.

The adoption from financial institutions seems very promising, so I definitely don't see it dropping much below $1. I think it can easily get back up to $3 if we wait. I'm basically just waiting to see if my patience will be rewarded.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should buy and hold NEO? on: August 13, 2018, 08:14:26 AM
Well i am only interested in it as an investment so for an investor off the top of my head.

-most secure blockchain with largest hashing power -most well known brand in a young market -good developers -reigning market cap champ since the beginning of crypto -least volatile crypto asset, preforms especially well in market corrections -the most widely accepted crypto

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized? on: August 13, 2018, 07:21:04 AM
There's a mathmetical measure for "decentralization", you can't tell how exactly centralized it is by looking.

Obviously, to be exact, one would have to calculate a number.

However, it is trivial to observe qualitatively that the network is quite centralized, and this is only the larval form. If a meaningful amount of capital was actually involved, it would be much more centralized.

28  Economy / Economics / Re: Newbies panic & Old timers smile, when the Bitcoin price take a dip. on: August 13, 2018, 07:07:01 AM
It's a big dip since December, but it's still roughly increased by 800% since this time last year at the time of writing, so it should be put into perspective. In December Bitcoin was super inflated mainly because of lots of hype and it's price was too high at the time for it to remain stable. Even if it dropped to half the current price, it would have still been an amazing investment if you got in this time last year.

29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How foolish are people who invest in Bitcoin? on: July 26, 2018, 03:51:33 AM
If you saw the bitcoin rase in last years, you wouldn't talk like that, I believe who invest in bitcoin is the truly investor.
