Not been here for a while and wondered what's in development. Basically as an investor I'd like to know why should I keep my ultracoins? Seems this coin is dying. Also wasn't we promised UTC would be on a Chinese exchange. That didn't happen.

Things are different than they were before.  There is fluctuation on the difficulty, the block compression is a little more than I'd like on the low end of difficulty swing, but the block spacing is workable, which is one of the biggest goals.   For the most part is has been averaging ~47 seconds a block over the last 20,000 blocks, with Proof of Stake blocks added in, with some gaps longer than 2 minutes.  But as far as the targeting goes, we're fine.  We're in good shape to carry out transactions in a reasonable amount of time.  And we won't be getting stuck on a block as we did with the original targeting algorithm.  If anything the current target favors miners even more because of the faster difficulty adjustment downward.  

At some point I would like to smooth out the block spacing even more by mixing the PoW and PoS difficulties, so that the PoS blocks complement the PoW blocks, and also lengthen the averaging span.  As several have pointed out, the current target is suited for high loading and unloading- it could use some tweaking for our situation.  The ultimate goal would be to able to evenly space the blocks so that they have a better chance to serve the network by containing transactions.   So a hard fork at some point in the future is not out of the question, but it's not even close to urgent enough to put us through through another few weeks of Cryptsy outages.  If and when it comes, it's going to be after a much longer round of testing.  In short, not anytime really soon.

And as for lingering issues, they appear to be mostly in king_pin's mind and rantings.  Disregard them- I do.  Changes will be coming soon, but they are not going to be in the form of hard forks.  It's going to be minor updates, fixes and changes that will be compatible with the current targeting.  Things like adding light mode and a bootstrap option to the Android wallet.  If anything, I only see upside from here.

Mining for UTC is not profitable right now, but who is selling 60 BTC worth of UTC at 0,00001 and why is more interesting???

The Thailand conference was just too many worlds away, it would have also been a very expensive trip. We are open to open any future conferences, and if the community wanted to suggest any, we would be more than happy to reach out to the event organizer to see if we can get Ultracoin involved.

The Android/iOS wallet is a must, and unfortunately as Fabietech says, Scrypt-N coins are notoriously difficult to create the mobile applications for.

An online wallet with apps that merely connect to the online wallet is actually the exact thing we had in mind, that or an electrum solution. If any of you have used the Coinbase app, it is essentially the same thing, with the added benefit of 2 factor security, plus if your phone is lost or stolen, it is much more secure. In my opinion online based wallets are far superior to wallets integrated into the actual phone or even electrum based. This is currently the solution are talking about now. It should also benefit non phone users and give Ultracoin users a safe place to store and access their coins, unlike exchanges which always have the possibility of going defunct or rogue.

I initially bought UTC at 0.0006 and didnt sell when it doubled.. then it dropped, and i didnt sell then either, hoping it would rise.. Then everything went wrong/ dc girl left, bumface chased ppl away...  i was left with a, for me at least, a major loss.. Then when UTC really hit the bottom i bought a bunch more.. iam at the break even point now..

UTC is here for the long haul and long journey and is here to stay.

We have predicted this a long time ago.

The UTC management team works as a real good team behind the scenes and doing their best.

But let's be careful, we are not there yet.

There is still a lot to be done and the price could still fall or stabilize.

Simple, there is still quite a long way to go.

Our next big step is the participation as speaker and exhibitor of UTC at the Las Vegas Convention Hashers United.

If our participation in Hashers Uniters do what we want and what we expect, then UTC could rise to new heights and will land in the top 15 at CoinMarketCap.

I reasoned as following: Let us assume that UTC has as good enough development as the top marketcap coins. So looking first at coins with similar supply one can directly look at peercoin: it has an available supply of 21,747,353 PPC with a price of 0.00326188 BTC. The volume of peercoin is absolutely massive but it could give a nice direction where this coin might one day end up.

I then looked at Darkcoin 4,664,476 DRK are available, compare this to the available volume of UTC (18,151,079) which gives a ratio of 3.89. Divide the price of DRK 0.00888 with the ratio namely 0.00888 BTC / 3.89 = 0.0022 BTC. So this bring us to question of this is reasonable?

Well It's way below the valuation of peercoin which we can use as direction and compared to that this is reasonable.
