where can i check the total network hash?

1 block every 3 seconds seems..crazy.

It usually is 1 block every 15 but someone dumped a load of hashes on it it must be. Will take 20 s or so to adjust.

Trying to send GG
I get this error: {"code":-4,"message":"Error: Transaction creation failed  "}
4 times, same error. Restarted client, nothing.

Is there a transactions size limit or something? Sending 10k GG in one go didn't work out but when I split the transaction into 2x5K it works.

So you can't send more than 5000 ? Odd, I'll look into that.
Correct
Did some more testing and it seems limit is at 6000

Thought I could share my settings and tweaks since I started pool mining Geist.

Using cgminer on dual 6990 rig.
cgminer -o pool.simplecoin.us:8337 -u user -p pass -g 1 -w 128 -v 2

Stats:
Cgminer reports (avg) 1535 Mh/sec and efficiency 88%.

Will do some more tweaking during the day and report back if it improves significantly.  Smiley

Yep, pool seems to work great!

Edit;
Changed to worksize 256
Stats:
Cgminer reports (avg) 1500 Mh/sec and efficiency 94%

Settings in cgminer:
Longpoll on
Intensity 8
Queue 0
Scantime 20

Is anyone have this strange problem?
Every time i restart GUIMiner to mine solo GG, it changes the port to 8332.
Every time i change back it & saving.
Still when i starts again, the port changes back to 8332.
Only way for me is to change the port to 8777 in server.ini file itself.
Anyone getting this strange behavior?
I got it in both GG, GG-new & now also in GG-pack.

I did have this problem too back when I used GUIMiner.
Here is a simple workaround!
In the server dropdownmenu, set it to "other" instead of "solo".
Now you can change port number as you wish without this problem, and it sticks.
The "solo" settings make it revert to default bitcoin solo mining port.

Can you please give some more info on the difficulty adjustment?
Retarget is every 1 week. Is it entirely timebased?
How can I check current difficulty when using the gui?

Which you would rather I put a bounty on, splicing Tenebrix implementation of scrypt into cgminer or further tweaking of Jgarzik's code ?

Cgminer bounty.

That didn't work out for long.. gpu hashrates slowed down too much when enabling minerd on the same cpu core. Setting a low priority for minerd didn't help. 3 threads will do for now. Using process lasso to put the threads on desired cores.

Is it possible we can use CGminer-cpuonly with this algo?

Hashrates (average per core) (default settings)
C2D E6750: 1.25 khash/sec
i5 2500K:    1.67 khash/sec

Thank you Lolcust for the generous starting bounty!
Been mining during the night with 2 spare cores on my i5 2500k (Dedicated one core to 100% cpu bug for gpu mining and one core left free for system stability.) and my second rig is mining with C2D E6750. Found nearly 30 blocks so far.
Will unleash it on all of the i5 cores during the day to see how it affects overall system performance and gpu mining.

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Geist Geld now has a website! on: September 24, 2011, 05:54:07 PM
I do have a request of Geist Geld coins, can we have an easy copy and paste address function?  As far as I see, at the present, sending from one account to another is not that easy as I can't seem to be able to copy and paste the sending address.

I suppose your using cmd?
Try this solution
Enable quick edit in CMD.
Alt-space, select properties
Go to options tab, tick "quick edit mode".

Now you can just double left klick the word (or address) you want to copy and then double right klick to paste it at the cursor position.  Smiley

OMG I just made my 101 post!

You don't have to stop mining. Just switch over to one of the alternate chains for a while.
