21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for trusted sites on: June 28, 2011, 11:15:16 PM
Although my product is not directly tied to Bitcon, my company is very reputable.
Great for anyone that wants to add a personal touch to their lair, or give a perfect
gift to friends and family.

Bitcoin is not currently available on our checkout page, but with a call or email, we
will make it happen.

There are resources out there to make this happen. Accept Bitcoins on your site and I'll consider you for mine.

Hi guys,

I'm going to be adding another page to my site with merchant information but I want to make sure the sites are credible. What sites are honest and what sites are scams relating to bitcoins?
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Link Exchange on: June 28, 2011, 08:45:56 PM
Yeah, Just follow the directions above and let me know when you have the code on your site. Then I will add you to the list.

Just get the ad codes widget and insert the code in there.

Also, make sure you are running the 32 bit edition. I've read sometimes the  64 bit can cause this.

Lol, I hope so.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Link Exchange on: June 28, 2011, 06:37:20 PM
Starting a new thread due to revisions in the process.

Add this script to your site

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://startbitcoin.com/links.js">
</script>

Here's what it currently displays. It is basically a list of sites written in html with style attachments so you can customize the look for your site.

Code:
<div id="bitcoinlinks">
<h3>Other Great Bitcoin Sites</h3>
<ul>
<li>
<a target="_blank" title="Bitcoin" href="http://startbitcoin.com/">Bitcoin Guide</a>
</li>
<li>
<a target="_blank" title="Bitcoin Blog" href="http://bitcoinprofits.us/">Bitcoin Profits</a>
</li>
<li>
<a target="_blank" title="Invest in startup companies using your bitcoins" href="http://www.btcvc.com/">Bitcoin Venture Capital</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>

You can download the CSS at http://startbitcoin.com/bitcoinlinks/bitcoinlink.rar

and upload it to your home directory after you customize it to look right. I'm willing to help if needed.

I will put your site on the list as soon as you put the links up to be fair to all the people that have already posted links.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Private Website Owners look here please on: June 28, 2011, 06:16:42 PM
Ok,

It took some doing because I've never worked with JS before but I went ahead and made up a solution so you don't have to do much work. Just insert

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://startbitcoin.com/links.js">
</script>

into your page or if you have wordpress the adsense or advertising widget and then go to

http://startbitcoin.com/bitcoinlinks/bitcoinlinks.rar and the bitcoinlinks.css will be in that rar.

This is easier for everyone because there now is a centralized list and it is easy to remove people who are on it but not reciprocating the links.

From the time of this post everyone on the list has 1 week to put this on their site or I am going to have to remove them to make way for people who want to be on the link exchange.

I have dedicated a fair amount of time to getting this working in a way that won't mess up your current designs and also is customizable so please donate for the effort. 1HbdRpinMDQ2cgUWsKiMPDN2icC8rNpS1i

I've looked around on google a little and it seems to be caused from hardware issues. Try unplugging all peripherals like printers and scanners and try it again.

Might be a problem with the USB stick. If the USB drops off the the computer loses its OS it would reboot. I would try a new USB stick.

Make a separate wallet as a saving account in Ubuntu and send your bitcoins there. By sending a copy to a secure location, you still leave a copy that is vulnerable.

Here is a tutorial on how to make a secure wallet.

I would recommend that you uninstall the guiminer and also remove the hidden files. To remove the hidden files go to control panel, folder options, click the view tab, then click the show hidden files and folders.

Then, go to Windows Explorer - C:\users\username here\appdata\roaming and delete your bitcoin folder and your poclbm folders assuming you don't have a bitcoin wallet on there. If you do just make a backup and restore it later.

If your gpu is not showing up in your device manager I would suggest deleting your ati software from control panel>programs and features and reboot.

When you reboot it should automatically reinstall the drivers and force you to reboot yet again.

After the reboot, reinstall the catalyst software (I would recommend a fresh download from your manufacturers website), then another reboot

After that is all installed, go ahead and redownload the guiminer from the website and run it. Everything should be good to go from there.

Finally, if that doesn't work - Install Ubuntu try that.

Also, if this works and I have gotten your mining operation operational - donate 1HbdRpinMDQ2cgUWsKiMPDN2icC8rNpS1i

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need help with my signature.. on: June 26, 2011, 11:22:38 PM
again...it works with the html test bed but when I make it my signature it's just html coding no image..

The image might be blocked by the forum itself. Try using a smaller image. If anyone knows the rules on this forum for posting images in the footer, can you fill us in?
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Private Website Owners look here please on: June 26, 2011, 08:35:06 PM
I'm already working on that. I just have to come up with the php to do it. And to make is so it's scale-able over many sites without messing up the aesthetic of their site.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin client display merging income from several addresses on: June 26, 2011, 06:13:33 PM
I'm pretty sure that every time you do a transaction your wallet generates a new address. All the addresses that display in your bitcoin UI are attached to the same wallet. This is a security measure so you can't duplicate transactions.

I, of course, could be wrong.
AFAIK the client generates a new address when:
1. You send money, to receive the change
2. You receive money to the address currently selected in the GUI

In any case this has nothing to do with the problem I am describing.

I see, misread the post.

Did you quote the wrong one?
