Hi asiabtc, usually how much do you declare on customs invoice for a LA1THS? Shipping is handled by DHL or other couriers? And last but not least: in case of RMA, customer pay return shipping to china?

@RMA
From what I realized this month:
- in case of RMA you have to pay the return shipping to china
- You have a lot of struggle with the provided address
- You cannot find any phone number for the shipment on the website
- DHL fails to deliver at LightningAsic
- If you ask Jack to force DHL to deliver again he will not react (since 24 hours now)

Hello again,

sorry, I didn't want to blame anyone. Was just worried about my payout. Maybe because it's the first time I use a multipool like chunky and not being able to track my earnings.

I know
- I can see my mining results
- I can see when a batch of coins has been transferred
- I can see my hyper account

There was just something in the middle which I cannot see and lose track, which is "amount of sold KARM (or whatever coin) on the market", when it was/will be sold + a waiting time to see my Hyper earnings.

Thank you all very much for clarification.

I'm in the IRC channel and already asked for the payout. Nothing is movin in IRC sind at least 12 hours.

Hey guys.

I am Mystical Potato (no relation to Joe Satriani, though I do fly in a blue dream sometimes Wink), and I am part of the writing team for the Hyper MMO. I'm an experienced copywriter and editor, and I've also published a sci-fi novelette a couple of years ago (sold a few copies, but I've a nagging suspicion that my mum was responsible for most of the purchases).

Needless to say, we are aiming at creating a universe that is at once rich, exciting and beautiful; a universe that will hopefully keep the average bear entertained for years.

We will be developing the plot and lore meticulously from the ground up, so it will be a challenging project. Hyper community members are most welcomed to contribute their ideas (especially those that can wear Princess Leia's slave costume well Wink), so don't be shy.

Drop by at the Hyper official forum and say hello. Bring some beers though. No one likes empty-handed guests. Grin

Great - I am fan of these kind of games, I´ve even played Elite for months on old ZX Spectrum clone long time ago, so I am looking forward to this (and hoarding HYPERs). On the other hand I know how hard it is to balance all that things, so it´ll be nice to have advices from some pro dev of some great title, like Sins of a Solar Empire for example.

This is a great idea and I've been thinking the same thing. I think once the official MMO Game concept has been finished, and we have the canon story arc of the HYPER universe, we should approach developers of existing 4X games and have one of them on board as a consultant. HYPER needs a higher market cap to fund this though. So we need more people buying HYPER and supporting the project. Not only will investment help us build the MMO, investors will receive 5% monthly interest from their coins staking, and HYPER is very rare so there is large potential upside. Miners can also support the project by mining HYPER in the multipool.

Mystical Potato and I are currently collaborating on the HYPER story arc and we will have more public announcements to make soon Wink Anyone is also welcome to join the (fun and exciting!) discussion on the official HYPER forum.

I don't drink beer anymore but banana smoothies appreciated  Cheesy

Hi,
I'm actually using the Multipool @chunky. I feel the payouts in Hyper take too long time.  I mine there since the very beginning when Hyper was added - I could only receive ONE payout so far.
I've nearly 90.000 RDD sitting in their wallet + 530.000 KARM. I know it's not too much but should at least end up in a payout. (last payout was 3 days ago).
I'd not like to make chunky pools stake my hyper coins and keep the staked coins - this is something I'd like to do on my own.

Can someone perhaps explain why it takes so long? I think payouts should not take more than 24 hours.

Best Regards
Martin

Buying HBN is like trying to get 10 PS4 on launch day... You'll only get one.

haha ;-) I had about  6 PS4 on launch day ;-) could not get more... sold them slowly.

Just for any one's doubt.
Nemercry is very reliable and does a good job on the mods.
I bought devices from him 2 days ago and they run rock solid at 480-489KH/s.

maybe no one cares about the content because no one is interested?

I feel most people got rid of the controller in an early stage as simple windows/linux machines performed much better and allowed proper configuration including real open source miner software.

maybe also an indicator for your donation level?

Hi,

as you have seen I've some LA devices running on several frequencies. The other half of my devices is running on standard frequencies, controlled by the standard controller. When I came home today I realized, that 5 devices stopped working. They are not blinking any more. I plugged out, in again and again.

Nothing happens to them any more.

I had the same issue on one device approx 30 minutes after start up of the system. It had something burned next to the usb connector on the board. I'm now missing a total of 6 devices out of 20 :-/  Jack promised to send me one on replacement two weeks ago. Now I'm at six and don't have the first one yet. Any one knows how to claim the warranty with Jack??   *damn it* ROI is running away.

Any one else facing those problems??? Any one able to repair that???

BR
Martin
Are all 5 coming off the same PSU or 1/2 of a USB Hub?  I had a similar problem where 5 of my miners died (still had the flashing lights but no hashing).  Flashing lights powered by USB.  Fans/hashing powered by PSU. I traced it down to a bad PSU which Jack replaced no charge.  I was also able to order a 30A 12V psu (for LED lighting) from EBay for £16 (looks exactly like the L.A. PSU) so I now have a backup PSU.

yes, they are all coming off from 1/2 of a USB hub. I still use the same PSU... the remaining devices work just fine - also on the burned ones the fans are rotating like always... seems like just USB connection is gone. I tried to exchange the usb ports on the hub. Finally the units themselves seem to be the problem here. Jack now asked me to send them back for repair which is of course very nice from him but I'm scared it will take weeks to get them back working.

A theoretical question: could they be hashing weaker if there is absolutely NO fan by the miners? Stock would be detached and no fan blowing into them.

theoretically "yes"

Running now for 16h without problems on RASPI.
Frequencies seem to be okay. Maybe I have to downsize it for two miners by one step. How do you think about 16 HW in 16 hours? Is this okay?

EDIT: Pool shows rates between 3400 and 3700 kh/s

How did you get the frequencies to differ? I can't get the command to work on mine for some reason.

Start Line
Code:
/home/pi/cgminer --config=/home/pi/cgminer.conf
(where pi is the user)

cgminer.conf

I received this morning 2xLA3M (paid in BTC on February 9th).

Each LA3M is composed of :
- 10x hashing units (each composed of 5 chips)
- 2x 12v PSU
- 1 controller
- 1 USB hub (10 ports)
- all necessary cables and power supplies

Setup is easy, I was able to mine in less than 30 minutes.

Here are the performances :

I couldn't go over 3000khs in scrypt, whatever the core frequency is.
Dual mode LTC/BTC doesn't look very stable : 80Ghs BTC and 1500Mhs LTC.

I didn't flash the units, don't know if it would change anything, since the image I have if from January 19th

I have had one problem on a rig, caused by the USB hub. You should see both red and green light on the hub.
If only red, then something is wrong. Couldn't find what causes this.

What does it mean if only the green light blinks when connecting to to usb and power. BFGMiner running and showing a hash rate of 360 but not getting any accepted shares.

I'm getting very nervous about setting up my LA3M having read this thread. I was thinking about using Raspberry Pi, but I have no technical acumen whatsoever...

What are the honest chances of a noob getting this running in an evening?

With the included controller I was up and running in < 30mins.

I then took on a bit of a challenge to use RasPi instead of the controller..and have been learning bits and pieces over the past few weeks.  So many people on this forum and litecointalk have helped to educate me and for that I'm forever grateful!  Linux doesn't have to be a big scary monster after all.  Smiley

Was it worth the investment if your time? I am busy enough with life stuff that I would have to sacrifice sleep hours to educate myself. I was thinking of just doing the supplied controller and getting a smartphone reboot wall plug thingy.

Thanks also to everyone else for their replies.

I've been running the first few weeks with the LA controller and the only modification being to wire 10 plugs per PSU (scrypt only!). I also ran it with the Belkin WeMo 'smartphone reboot wall plug thingy' which is necessary if you are not around to power cycle dead/frozen miners. Although this became less of an issue with V2 of the LA controller firmware.

So if you just want to get hashing ASAP then you should have minimal issues with the supplied equipment.

Many people here see this as a hobby, i am one of those guys. So I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting intimate with RasPi, building some kind of custom case (taking some ideas from Spotswood and Eric Kenedy here) and learning how to splice PCIE cables safely.

My goal is to have my 60 gridseeds, 6 USB hubs and 3 RasPis all in the same custom case, running off one ATX PSU.

Wow, I wish I had that kind of hashing power!

10 gridseeds and 10 dualminers will have to suffice for now....

Let me understand correctly--I need to buy a PSU in addition to the LA3m kit?

no, you don't have to. It's just a private goal to replace the origninal psus using one atx psu...

Very cool, thank you very much for sharing the link. Will also go to donate.
Do you also have an image version containing the detailed frequency setup? Would love to test that.

Here's a link to the complied version of cgminer made by Girhes:  https://mega.co.nz/#!asJixSiC!kNLgTzZv4qN1j06yptsC__KVdFZ7n8zsRydVja1dwPw

Please don't forget to donate to him as well if you like the modified version he's made!  Donate to Girhes here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=477709.msg5752544#msg5752544

Once you download this version, you'll want to backup the existing one by renaming it to another file name.  Then take this version and change it's name from cgminer.girhes to cgminer instead.

Also, don't forget to change permissions on this file so you can execute it.

Hi,
downloaded and I'm about to setup. Would you please tell me the root pass? Checked here and there but cannot find this piece of information. Only pi:raspberry...

Thanks :-)

All right, the new frequency table is:

700, 706, 713, 719, 725, 731, 738, 744, 750, 756, 763, 769, 775, 781, 788, 794, 800, 813, 825, 838, 850, 863, 875, 888, 900, 913, 925, 938, 950, 963, 975, 988, 1000, 1013, 1025, 1038, 1050, 1063, 1075, 1088, 1100, 1113, 1125, 1138, 1150, 1163, 1175, 1188, 1200

Would someone kindly provide me with a compiled version for the raspi? Even better would be a complete image... I grew up using dos and windows... but I'm not good @ linux :-/

Anyway. Some people were talking about the raspi version with scripta getting stuck over night. Even with the changed line someone supplied it crashed overnight. I found a donation cron job running every night for a short time. Just deleted that thing and the raspi works very fine now...
But would love to implement the latest frequency setup.

Best Regards

Should not write about the raspi... just yesterday night it stopped working and I had to powercycle. Maybe I should lights on during the night?

Any one else has this problem or are all just fine now using the raspi + cgminer + scripta?

There is an issue when using the Scripta image.  It works for some folks and doesn't for others.  The devs are working on this.  Until then I suggest you just run RasPi + CGMiner only...I've been using that and it's incredibly stable.  Along with the tweaks to cgminer that Girhes made, I now have more fine grained control over overclocking them and it's working out quite nice.

Sounds really nice. I feel I don't need the scripta thing...
Would you mind doing a backup of your sd card and sharing it?

Just to play around I'd try to use scripta on a dedicated raspi to sum up all my miners... but that's later... first of all I need reliability on the process.
