Pretty ugly OP. Maybe at least try?

hahaha, cool concept, but there's no guarantee that the water will ever pump.

Not sure how I feel about "Half of the pool fees will be converted to BTC and payed as Dividends". I applaud your transparency, but that is just a gently way of saying "half of the pool fees will be dumped".

You know what, time for a slight policy change: After consulting and discussing with BadBear, I've decided that it's time to let people discuss a bit more freely about services. Although BadBear's earlier posts hinted that service posts are a "no go" on most cases, after contacting him a couple of days ago, I believe he has changed his thinking, possibly due to the community's opinion and suggestions (told you it would help ). As per this shift, the following type of posts are now allowed in coin threads: - Posts about block explorers. ("Here is a new block explorer for this coin" type posts)
- If a service comes up in a disussion and directly related to the coin, it's allowed
- "We're up" messages for pools (if it's only once per thread)
- "This exchange added coin" type posts for exchanges (again, if it's only once per thread)
However, said rules only apply to those posts that ARE NOT large, distracting with images, or markup codes (lots of bold and colors) and other traits of an advertisement. If a post is considered an advertisement will be determined on case by case basis. Post your suggestions and opinions regarding this rule and how it should be improved and it might get implemented. Ahh, thank you thank you thank you. These compromises are very reasonable and exactly what I think everyone has been asking for. If people are not able to adhere to these policies, I agree that their posts should be removed. Justice has been served. Great decision BCT!

As much as you don't like the saying, but it's true: I don't make the rules, the admins do. I am also not an alt miner, nor a day trader and I often participate in older coins so this rule affects me the least. I may give suggestions to the admins, however, I really don't have a strong opinion against either side and the final descision still goes to theymos.
You are a smart guy that understand alone when it's a SPAM and when it's a GOOD information. You cannot delete all that you find. Rules must to be interpreted and applyed different for every case. FaSan That's what I do every time. However, referring to the service, with a clear intent to advertise/promote a service is still prohibited as per the definition of the rule. Also, discussion of individual services is off-topic and should be taken to the main thread of said service, since the coin thread is meant for a discussion about the coin, not websites using them. Got it, so as long as we don't discuss what the coin can be used for or where it can be used, everything is okay. Wait, what's the purpose of a coin again?

Was about to make a slick comment, but the OP looks pretty nice.

Not sure how anyone will be able to prove whether they are or are not a "trekkie". Seems quite arbitrary.

In response to the rule, we will not stop announcing that we have listed the coin. Instead, we're posting this: ---- <COIN NAME> has just been added to a mystery exchange which we are not allowed to mention by name! If you can figure out which one it is based on who's posting this, you might be lucky enough to get over there to trade! But, due to the new absurd "advertising spam" rules ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=718124.0) we are not allowed to say who we are. Because that's advertising. So, let's hope you can figure it out! We're hoping this isn't advertising spam as we are not mentioning any exchange, and the coin could have been posted to any, really. What a mystery! The coin is possibly (but maybe not) live and available right now, although the blockchain might still be downloading and deposits might not appear until this is complete. Assuming an exchange, randomly chosen, did in fact, list it. We have (or will very soon) post an announcement on Twitter as well. Follow us on twitter (@all_crypt or https://twitter.com/All_Crypt - Hope it's ok to post a twitter handle! We were only told we cannot post links to our sites?) to help spread the word and keep abreast of site news and updates. We'd very much appreciate being listed as an active exchange in the OP of the this thread. If you'd like a high quality PNG logo to use, a zip is available at: http://www.[figure it out for yourself].com/aclogopack.zip An important note: It sucks for everyone when there is a fork, or a version upgrade, and we don't get notified. Sometimes developers just tweet that there is an upgrade. We're busy running the site - we do not have time to read every tweet we are mentioned in every day. We read them, in time, but if it's an emergency upgrade (a fork) or there is a hard fork coming in less than a week - we may not see it. We unfortunately do not have time to read every forum thread of every coin we list - we'd love to - and we do read the forums as much as we can, but keeping up with every coin would be a full time job for multiple people. We'd rather spend that money on hardware and new code and features. Wink The only truly RELIABLE way to ensure we know about a mandatory upgrade is to submit a support ticket. Just have someone hop by http://support.[mystery website].com and let us know. We see those all the time, and some of us have the app on our phones and see support tickets instantly. If for some reason your github source changes (community takeover for example) PLEASE let us know that in the ticket. We save the github sources so we don't have to scour for it again later - and if you have an upgrade, but we're checking the old source code, it will really delay the upgrade. You only need to provide a github source if the source has changed. I think that covers it! Thanks for your support of [insert random exchange name here] and we're proud to support you in return! You know, assuming we actually did list the coin. We might not have. ----- If that's advertising spam, I'll change it again. And again. Until it reaches the point that accounts owned by pools/exchanges/websites are not allowed to post ANYTHING AT ALL. You know, until the real reason this is being done is fulfilled - until we pay. I think we'd all rather it just be said plainly: "Pay us." At least that'd have a small degree of respectability. Whats hilarious is that none of us, except maybe Bittrex and Mintpal and Cryptsy are likely making enough money off these endeavors to afford to pay the absurdly high advertising rates here. I've looked into it. Hiring someone to run a precisely targeted AdWords campaign is cheaper than tiny advertising space here. The last aucton ended with a slot costing 4 BTC for 1 week. They are stating about 2 million impressions, but there are only about 200k unique IPs. No statistics about click-throughs, which is what just about everyone else uses, so, hard to compare. And since there are 8 slots, people always buy more than 1 to increase their visibility. Lowest last round was 2 slots. At 4 BTC each. For $2400 I can get one hell of an awesome Google AdWords rep putting on one amazing ad campaign. For a hell of a lot longer than a week. With infinitely more visibility. Bargain this site is. Any kind of service advertising in other people's threads is not allowed, including indirectly referring to your service ("we're up", "we've added the coin", "see our twitter/facebook/sig"). As per this rule, discussion of individual/specific services/websites is considered off-topic. It is not off-topic, how can it possibly be considered off-topic if this information is pertinent and necessary for each of the coins?. No, it's a dumb rule without any thought behind it and it doesn't make any sense at all, so please don't say that services being announced in a coin's thread is off-topic because it's not. +1000. The majority of these posts being marked as "spam" couldn't possibly by any more ON topic. I don't own any of kind coin related service, but THIS is the information I am looking for when reading a thread. THIS is the information that matters. Everyone in the thread who matters is mining, buying, selling, trading, or exchanging the coin, so the MOST IMPORTANT and most ON TOPIC information is where that activity can be done. I could care less about the fud and back and forth between people saying "this coin is the best" and "this coin sucks". I propose you do the opposite of what is currently proposed and remove all the clutter and meaningless posts and ONLY allow posts related to services of each specific coin.

Badbear please explain in the best possible way how giving a coin's thread a one time notice that they are accepted to our exchange is considered spam. I just had 33 posts deleted by "mprep" for literally telling a community they are on our exchange. I cannot see any reason for this it is pure nonsense. Here is an example of my typical posts, note there are no graphics used and very un-spammish in nature "Welcome to C-CEX: https://c-cex.com/?p=xsx-btc https://c-cex.com/?p=xsx-usd" Regarding the possible ways to show a coin that they have been accepted to your exchange: 1. Make a thread dedicated to your exchange and post a post in that thread that you accepted the coin (it counts as a bump and should be done once every 24 hours). If you don't have a coin added every 24 hours, just post a simple bump which will keep your thread somewhat up. 2. PM the dev asking to add your coin to the OP. 3. To anyone asking on whether some exchange added a coin, PM the user with said information. Just don't overdo it or it'll be considered spamming. Short form: You have no idea what you are doing. Or why. Were you guys drinking a LOT when you came up with this? What information can be posted in a thread? If we can't discuss where to mine, buy, sell, or exchange the coin, why allow comments at all? There's not much else to talk about.
