21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: March 22, 2021, 04:07:14 PM
Novo had some profit takers today, after making over 2500% on the IPO the price was too tasty to resist for some.

All this from making good decisions by reducing max supply from 10 billion to 210000 and introducing a halving soon from 0.1 to 0.05 per block. Miners won't be able to crash the price and if traders sell they might never get back in for the same price.
Witnessing reward will be increased to 0.075 of the reward and miners 0.025.

No pressure on the market and witnesses coins can't be spent until the witness period is done.

Gulden developers developed the witness tech and the Gulden advisory board is watching the positive impact on the price action from the above changes.

I spoke to one of the traders on slack and he says with Gulden because 100 000 new coins are coming onto the market every day and this continues for 35 years more there is no incentive to trade Gulden up because the next day 100 000 coins could be sold back on the exchanges.

Imagine Gulden without this pressure and a brilliant development team. It will be a life changing event.

I was one of the few voices at the start who was against the reward change from 1000 to 100 and when they went ahead with the change Rijk never adjusted the max supply to compensate. Next year if the rewards remained the same with the 4 year halving schedule, 75% of the total supply would of been mined out.

Next year Gulden will only have 35% of the total supply mined out and a long way to go before 75% is achieved. This scares off investors.

To correct the situation the total supply needs to be adjusted to where current supply is 75% and a reward halving introduced on the 3rd April 2022 when the next reward halving was expected to take place.

Someone else in the team or community can work it out but the max supply will need to be adjusted close to 760 million to bring the initial reward structure back into balance with a reward halving starting on 3rd April 2022 and every 4 years after.

I do like your suggestion. It also gives the devs 5 years of good funding while also catering to the users and putting the blockchain in sync with where it should be with the circulation % vs Max coins.

Is this proposal worth mentioning in the #GAB channel on slack?

Seems like a reasonable thing to suggest in Slack, they’ll discuss the max supply cut for sure, I heard it’s in the list. Reward halving I’m not entirely sure.

Gulden advisory board and Rijk I can't see having an issue with the reward halving.

Look what is coming for Novo.
99% reduction in max supply
Reward halving from 0.1 to 0.05
Witness to have 75% and miners 25% of the reward.

Looks like they flexible to change.

Novo up 400% in a week after the above announced changes. Lets see what is coming for Gulden after the meeting on Wednesday this week.

Don't worry about it, if it's only a max supply change then my suggestion won't be necessary. Without a reward halving schedule I would go as far as saying there is not much point in changing anything as it will erode confidence in the supply changing whenever it suits the community.
My suggestion is the right thing to do as it can be argued this is where the coins supply should be in relation to it's total supply when the coin was started.

Changes:
760 million total supply
3rd April 2022 or close to it the reward halves to 80 for 4 years. This change brings it close to where the coin would of been if no changes were ever made from the start of the coins inception.
840 960 blocks later (year 2026) the reward halves to 40.
840 960 blocks later (year 2030) the reward halves to 20. Gulden will be close to 90% mined out when this drop occurs and most of you will be alive to see it

The 4 year cycle also gives the market time to adjust to the changes and no sudden drop off from 160 reward to 0 when the new max is achieved.

This change makes total sense to me , I like it!

I own some Novo and it's definitely performing well this last few days, up another 50% today.
The same could happen for Gulden depending on the outcome of the GaB meeting next week.
Whats working in favour of a max supply and reward change is Gulden has dropped out the top 1000 on coinmarketcap , making it one of the worst performing coins this year, and the results of less supply speaks for itself with the Novo changes.

Gulden has a strong community,  they work hard to bring the Gulden name to the public but the price performance is making it hard to bring in new users.

Stay strong my friends, all will be good in the end.

I want to add that Novo is most likely a testing ground for changes to come for Gulden. Another beautiful change coming for Novo is witness reward is going to be 75% and miners 25% of the 0.1 reward.

A change like this for gulden with reduced max supply and rewards can only be positive. I don't know if Rijk hired a specialist in finance but all these changes are super smart. I am excited to hear what is going to come out of the GaB meeting.

Dev reward is first offered on Blockhut.com. If it is not purchased there, it will be put on an exchange. Shares site is not possible because it requires a DNB license.

Will EUR or USD purchase options become available for new users who don't know how to use crypto?

Gulden community will have to wait for another entrepreneur like Roel.

I hear Nocks and the team was purchased by litebit, if I were to guess the same features will be coming for all coins listed on litebit and Gulden can introduce IBAN transactions in the wallets.

Gulden has officially been listed on the Stex exchange with 2 pairings.

https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/BTC/NLG
https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/NOVO/NLG

This is the best position in terms of exchanges this coin has ever been in, I can't believe my eyes, have the devs had a change of heart when it comes to exchange Listings?
Total volume on this exchange is over $23 million compared to Nocks with 4k volume and a 10k monthly deposit limit? You can't compare.
Price of 68sat before listing of new exchange, in 3 weeks the price will move to 77-81 sat. This will bring some confidence to traders, pleased with this news!

It's good that Gulden has another exchange, a relief for many in the community, if this works out the community will look to getting more listings but if the price drops then the community knows it's not because of exchanges the price is low. I believe if the price goes up like you say the community and GAB will use more funds towards exchanges.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: September 21, 2020, 07:04:47 AM
I found out that Rijk has also started a new coin called Novo, why doesn't he change Gulden to have the same low reward rate and keep 200 million for development?

The new coin is trading at 5 Euro and has a total of 10 billion coins, Gulden will only have a total of 1.68 billion coins and is 0.007 Euro. Lower the reward for Witness to 5, the reward for miners to 5 and have max coins at 800 million. Take 200 million for develop and let people buy directly from the fund to support development and remaining 70 million for witness and miners that will last a long time.

Look how well it's working for Novo with 10 billion supply and is a copy of Gulden. The price of this coin will go up 50 times in price very quickly.

I do like this suggestion or something similar. I know the Gulden community won't stand for another Dev reward increase and it looks like the GAB will stand firm here because they will see increasing the rewards causes more inflation and lower price.
Rijk knows this or Novo would have a high block reward. This is why Gulden is going to make a great investment in 2021 because of this change that will come. This change will give more money to the development team and a higher price for Gulden investors.

Refer to the first page on this ANN where people had legal action taken against them. Defamation of character is a criminal offence in the Netherlands and most places in the world, if you are from the Netherlands and posting false accusations here and your identity proven, you can be prosecuted. Be careful what you post on any thread against others.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4937333.0

I got your mail, will remove posts i make here but some people have quote me, I will message them to remove. I am not from Netherlands but not going to risk.

Removed my post with you quoted. I didn't see any problems with the post you made?

Got a asked from a m8 who invested in this coin to explain why the marketcap is a disaster. Its really simple you need more exchanges, I look at the exchange pairings and I ask myself what if bittrex ceases to exist. The price will drop in half overnight because you won't have a place to trade it.

That’s why Gulden is developing an exchange.

https://guldenbites.com/all-coins-dex/

Dex will be a game changer for Gulden, instead of giving an exchange 10btc to be added it's better to build a Dex with the dev funds. It will make the Gulden wallets more fun to use. Already Gulden wallets have witnessing, cpu mining and account system.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: August 10, 2020, 12:31:32 PM
As a long time supporter of NLG , I can say this coin is genuine with its attempt to improve crypto. I have invested in over 40 coins since 2012 and more then half have failed and no longer exist, some are still traded but development team has left them for good.

This is why I appreciate this coin more as it has a stable team that have been dedicated since 2014 and have produced great development results.

7 coins have made me excellent profits,  a lot more then Gulden but I know deep down its due to manipulated markets, false marketing and over promising on what they could achieve. ETH has made me a lot of money and that team has not delivered on its initial promises and very slow to implement new changes.

The development reward going up is necessary to keep Malcolm from moving to a different project. I can only imagine the amount of offers he gets to join other projects. This is why i think its going up and its a good way to spread the load on everyone involved. Instead of expecting a few people in the community to pay Malcolm every month for nothing in return.

Projects like ETH, waves, Cardona etc got more funding then Gulden devs could dream of yet this team has done better development in some areas.

Gulden is the most under valued coin on coinmarketcap in a fair world.

You should come join the Gulden slack its a lot more active and with people who want to see Gulden succeed. Btc talk is dead these days.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: August 02, 2020, 07:44:29 AM
I don't see too much complaining on slack, some guys are worried about the extra inflation in supply causing the price to go down but why would the price go down before the extra dev reward is in place?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] The even greater Gulden thread! on: May 25, 2020, 08:19:27 AM
On Wednesday, May 20, an online meeting was held at which various issues were discussed with regards to GULDEN, DEX, exchanges, network support https://guldenadvisoryboard.com/gulden-notulen-20-05-2020/

I must give credit to Rijk and GAB, when I first heard the news I thought Gulden would shutdown because I assumed Gulden and Nocks was one but it's good to see the team is making other plans.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gulden bringing CPU mining back with SIGMA on: November 25, 2019, 02:41:39 PM
Looks like others had the same idea as me. Still holding the fiat until bitcoin is around $6600 but Gulden appears to be getting more support than the rest of the coins. Moved up 30 places on cmc since bitcoin started crashing.
A million coins between $0.005000 and $0.006000 will be a good deal.

Probably you will never buy Gulden. If the price decline to $0,006 you wait til $0,005 and if there, you wil be waiting til $0,004 and so on. It's a pitty because i think the price is at the bottom now.

I have purchased 25% of my fiat crypto holdings into bitcoin at $6736, if it goes below $6000 I buy another 25%. Now I wait until the bitcoin price jumps over $8000 and I noticed the Gulden price drops to 80-90sat, this is how I will buy between $0.005 and $0,006.

Smart move, bitcoin back over $7000.

Witness Account performance

I setup 2 accounts for 18 month time period.

1. 10k
2. 50k.

After first 3 months the 10k witness account only made 40, the 50k witness account made 440 coins. 50k/10k * 40 = 200nlg if I created 5 10k accounts over same time.

It is better to have 1 account with larger amount then 5 accounts adding up to the same amount. This is a well designed system, going to try 100k for 18 months and will report back on performance.

I can confirm this is the case. The more you risk in witness the more gains you get. This is how the banking system works but at least you have control of your coins with Gulden. My 125000 account is earning about 6.2% interest and my 25 000 account 2.8% interest, both earning more then what I would get in a Dutch bank and my main account earning more then most shares.

However the above does not take into account a price increase but if their is a price decrease the witnessing offsets some of the damage.

Besides development I admire Malcolm and Willem for the type of characters they are. I read a couple of wealthier coins in the top 100 tried to recruit Malcolm in the past and he would of been a lot richer today if he went to develop for them. I am impressed they stick it out with Rijk who isn't rich and a community that does not have deep pockets.

SuperOrca why don't you stick to coins that have all the money behind them instead of bringing down people who want something different from crypto.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gulden bringing CPU mining back with SIGMA on: November 13, 2019, 06:28:37 AM
just for fun a tried this wallet/miner on two of my "better" cpu  for 6 hours , but for some reason i did not received any rewards Smiley there is no place to see your mining process/hashrate nowhere on the internet, only i was able to see on my wallet , but the hard works rewards never arrived Smiley

i7-5960X average hashrate was: 5.6MH/s ,used 8 threads and 4096MB mem under mining settings
i9-7980XE average hashrate was 13,2MH/s , used 28 Thread and 4096 mem under mining settings

So what i was doing wrong ?Smiley CPU usage was on 95-100% all the time in both case . But no rewards at all ?

Did i just mined for any of the dev for free ? used my electricity as a donation ? Smiley
How long is take to see any rewards ? If we can get at all Smiley

Their is only +- 580 blocks a day and you up against a lot of other miners. You would need your systems going for at least 24 hrs.

Total hash rate you can find over here.

https://www.dactual.com/network.php

It's showing 1203.08 Mh/s atm / by your total hash 13.2 + 5.6 = A block every 64 blocks on average.

I would run it for 48 hrs and see what you get.

There's a lot of people who are hyped into mining are now suffered big time lost on their investment  on GPU, CPU, HDD and ASIC mining, I bought Dozen of GPU but a month later, GPU mining collapse. For me much better to do trading and Masternode mining.

Witnessing is like masternodes. Different tech but u still earn with funds
