Next contract is soon! Can't wait to see if we get paid; are you withdrawing?

I don't know if it'll be "soon", but I don't think I can withdraw.  What was the minimum investment to be able to withdraw again?

I'm out for now.  Too many weird things recently.  If they prove their legitimacy, I'll get back in, but now they're just too sketchy for me.  I might look into bitcoin-trader.biz (they do arbitrage too, and are significantly more trustworthy) when the price of bitcoin goes back up.

bitcointrader.biz demands a great deal more trust as once you deposit you can't pull out for 120 days.   To me that makes it much more likely to be a scam.

So because they demand more trust, they're less likely to be a scam? Wait, or, more likely? I'm confused.

No ... Turning over your money for 120 days requires a lot more trust and leaves them a lot more room to just take off at some point.   Anyway I looked at the bitcointrader.biz several times, but personal it feels more like a scam to me than btc-arbs.com does and that is saying a lot.

I haven't actually done basically any research myself yet, just heard about it.  "They are significantly more trustworthy" was probably an overstatement.  Sorry about that!

I do still have one referrer in BTC Arbs, so I'll still be making some money.

Another thing: one of my withdrawals was "cancelled by admin" because I "provided an invalid address".  I don't think I messed the address up because I think I copied the address straight from MultiBit, but I could have made a mistake.  I did immediately send a withdrawal request to get all my money out, and that went through fine.  This happen to anyone else?

629 maybe?

I have an issue with the transaction log on OSX.  In the previous version, I received bitcoin, sent some, received some more, and then sent it all out.

I forget what the transaction log looked like in the previous version, but after I installed the new beta the last transaction is missing under the transactions log.  The balance is shown as 0.00, but under transactions there are only my first three transactions, not the latest one that emptied my wallet.

Transaction 1: +0.145259
Transaction 2: -0.1001
Transaction 3: +0.064
Transaction 4: empties wallet, but not shown under transactions.

What's to stop someone from making ten accounts, all referring to one another in a line, and picking up extra interest?
I don't think the referral bonus carries on beyond one level.
27  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Daily ROI (0.01-10%) Update: Registration issues + deposits on: April 01, 2014, 09:31:37 PM
best way to do that is int(amount *10000)/10000
There's also the TRUNC function.

Another issue: on the interest for April 1st, the interest is given as 1.05%.  But in the report, it says that "Today's result is 1.045%".
28  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Help test next major release of Armory! [0.01 BTC per bug!] on: April 01, 2014, 08:58:25 PM
Had an "Armory is out of date" notice on first run on OSX, then it goes away.

I had that too.

EDIT: except it comes back on each restart.

Got this email from bitcoin-trader.biz today.
I don't know if you realized, but what you posted is about Bitcoin Trader, not BTC Arbs.  Is this related to BTC Arbs in any way?

I keep a spreadsheet with all the movement and percentages and they always come out exactly as on the site.
Ditto to that.  It always matches up (except for the referral earnings).

Why number of posts matter at all? I had my 1st post on this forum today, but I've mined my 1st btc way before most people did on this forum.
People aren't likely to trust someone who just joined.  And there wasn't a way for us to know about your bitcoin mining.

Is the website down for anyone else?

Thank you for your message. A member of our administrative team will get back to you within the next 24 hours.

But no one ever gets back to me. I've listed email address and phone number in the message body. I am getting very unhappy with this situation. If anyone has contact information other than that Contact Us form, please let me know.
There was an email posted a few pages back, I believe it was something like admin@btc-arbs.com or something.  I also sent an contact form with a few questions that was never answered either.

I don't know much about using 2FA, but there is a chance you are doing it wrong?

All right, well I guess I have overstayed my welcome posting in the thread. I'm not a shill for the site, but since I imagine there will always be that suspicion now, there's no point in posting anymore. Good luck to everyone, however you decide to proceed!
I don't mind if you stay, but if you do leave please at least let us know if you find out/notice anything either positive or negative with proof.

And there will ALWAYS be suspicion from some with anything related to investing bitcoin.

I don't know then.  Good luck!

And once again the results are a day ahead!

I'm going to withdraw some, at least until they fix the date problems.  And I would definitely put a lot more in if they proved their authenticity somehow.  These guys could easily be legit, but until they prove it I'm going to remain skeptical.

Another thing about their referral earning.  They say they "pay 5% of all daily earnings that are earned by your referrals", but to me it looks like 10% (truncated).  This hasn't matched up just recently, but I might have not heard about one of my referrer's latest deposits.
34  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Help test next major release of Armory! [0.01 BTC per bug!] on: April 01, 2014, 03:36:14 AM
I have a feeling that the "Scanning Transaction History" time remaining counter should be counting down, not up.  It's been more than 30 minutes since I opened Armory and it has gone from 27 to 30 minutes remaining.

On the other hand, at least I can open the new Armory on my Mac!

Did you follow the instructions under the "Blockchain.info is giving me an 'Error decrypting' message" section?

It's because both times they posted the result after midnight.
They've posted results after midnight before, but I don't think this happened then.  Although if there was a bot and it had a problem, they would probably have fixed it and not let the same thing happen again.

Also, from their report on the 30ths interest they say:
Quote
This morning, the directors of BTC Arbs met with some of the industry leaders, including exchange operators and other prominent Bitcoin entrepreneurs to discuss the future of Bitcoin.
Anyone believe this?  Heard anything about this from the "industry leaders"?  This looks fishy to me.  It would also be interesting for someone to go through their reports and see if the reports match up with each other and with what happened in the markets.

Is this the beginning of the end?  Or not?  Anyone thinking of getting out now?

THIS IS A SCAM, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING OUT.  DO NOT INVEST WITH THEM!
39  Economy / Gambling / Re: XBTcontracts.org - Speculate to accumilate. on: March 24, 2014, 07:25:02 PM
I don't know if you're still interested in changing/tweaking the referral system (and adding rewards), XBTcontracts, but I just came up with another way you could do it.

Your "shares" are equal to the amount you deposited, * your multiplier (which would start at 1).  For example, having a signature on Bitcointalk might add .1 to your multiplier (and there would be other ways to increase your multiplier).  This would let you do signature campaigns and other similar programs.

And then you would get 5% of each of your referrers shares added to your shares.

What do you think of this?  Just some ideas I came up with.  I don't know if those numbers would be good or not.
40  Economy / Gambling / Re: XBTcontracts.org - Speculate to accumilate. on: March 24, 2014, 06:49:58 PM
OK i have implemented a referral system.

http://xbtcontracts.org/referrals.php
(you must be logged in to view!) I will be finalizing the copy for this on the website over the next day or two, but the referral system is tested and working and any referrals you get going forward from this point will be counted.

Fantastic!  This is an interesting system you've come up with.  Smiley  I think it would be nice to give some bonus no matter what (as long as the referred user deposits).  Maybe take 5% of the money from each round and divide it among the referrers?

If anyone reading this thread wants to sign up, please use my referral link <http://xbtcontracts.org/r/index.php?ref=abbitcoinstuff>.  Half of any money I make off the referral program will go to Sean's Outpost!  (and let me know what you guys think of this idea of mine)

I got that URL right, right?

And don't forget to have the referral page actually give the link!
