21  Economy / Economics / Re: Hoping that its the end of corona virus on: November 21, 2020, 09:30:52 AM
Each one of us has a role to play in working together to eradicate this virus that is destroying the economy of every country. We cannot always blame the government, maybe they also commit mistakes as also ordinary people used to do. We all need to cooperate with each other, just like what the government restricting to always wear mask when you have to go outside, but some people missed to comply. We really had a hard time this year 2020, and everybody hoping that this pandemic will come to an end soon.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple and Bitcoin on: November 20, 2020, 11:13:12 PM
Ripple has many users because of it's cheap transactions and because of being centralized and collaboration with banks and other payment facilities that is why it is easy to use and easy to gain trust from the people who are just starting to use crypto currency. But it doesn't mean it can replace bitcoin someday it's very far actually and they are totally different, many are still choose bitcoin over ripple when it comes to investment.

Deutsche Bank: Investors Increasingly Choose Bitcoin Over Gold to Hedge Dollar Risk, Inflation.

Deutsche Bank’s strategist Jim Reid reportedly wrote that investors are increasingly demanding to use bitcoin instead of gold to hedge dollar risk and inflation. His research concurs with one recently published by JPMorgan’s analysts that shows institutional investors moving from gold to bitcoin.

Investors Replacing Gold With Bitcoin
In a report discussing the performances of several investments post-vaccine news, Deutsche Bank’s research strategist Jim Reid wrote that “One of the oddities has been the dramatic divergence between gold (-3.6%) and silver (-4.4%) on the one hand and bitcoin (+13.4%) on the other,” according to Zerohedge publication. Reid elaborated:

Ray Dalio Admits He May Be Wrong About Bitcoin But Still Concerned of Government Ban?

Billionaire hedge fund manager Ray Dalio has admitted that he may be wrong about bitcoin after stating that governments will ban the cryptocurrency if it “becomes material.” Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates; his hedge fund is the largest in the world.
"I might be missing something about bitcoin so I’d love to be corrected." He quoted..

Firstly, he claimed: “Bitcoin is not very good as a medium of exchange because you can[not] buy much with it (I presume that’s because it’s too volatile for most merchants to use, but correct me if I’m wrong).”

Secondly, he asserted: “it’s not very good as a store-hold of wealth because it’s volatility is great and has little correlation with the prices of what I need to buy so owning it doesn’t protect my buying power.”

Next, he reiterated the risk of governments banning bitcoin that he outlined in an interview with Yahoo Finance last week. Dalio said that if bitcoin “becomes material, governments won’t allow it.” He emphasized: “they’ll outlaw it and they’ll use whatever teeth they have to enforce that. They would say … you can’t transact the bitcoin, you can’t have a bitcoin.”

27  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: November 19, 2020, 04:16:21 AM
Hello.  My country is Turkey.  The situation is the same with us.  Prices doubled in local markets.  While it used to be a self-sufficient country in agriculture, we now import agricultural products from abroad.  life is expensive.  As the dollar appreciated more than the Turkish lira, technological products were also more expensive.  salaries depreciated.  I think this pandemic has badly affected the economy globally.
Same here in the Philippines, almost everything in the market are so expensive and even condiments like onions, ginger etc the price is so expensive. Almost every one of us in any parts of the world are suffering because of unemployment effect on the virus to us, sadly two consecutive strong storms came here. People are really struggling with the situation, but there is nothing to do but pray and keep on hoping for the betterment.
28  Other / Off-topic / Re: in what business would you invest ? on: November 18, 2020, 10:31:42 PM
I think it depends on the people which business is they think suitable for them, sometimes the business works well if you managed it willingly or you really like what you're doing, i think that's the secret on how you can grow your business. For me i'd love food businesses and you don't have to worry about it's season because every one needs food unlike other that they need to wait for the peak time to sell their products. Always consider the place, season, trending and many more things before you decide what business you would invest.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: November 18, 2020, 02:52:37 PM
There's a lot of people out there lost their jobs because of this pandemic, but i'm not one of them because i'm just a plain housewife who always staying at home to take care of my kids. Even before the pandemic comes i'm just joining bounty campaign to gain more knowledge about how crypto works and also trying to get some funds to able to invest in bitcoin or other cryptos. We just have to look everything positively because nothing is permanent and i'm sure this tragic will also come to an end.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People support what Good for them but btc?? on: November 18, 2020, 12:17:11 PM
If you think Bitcoin is not suitable for you then you don't have to force yourself to continue using it, because if you loosing faith to something that means you won't believe to it's capabilities anymore. We have our own way of thinking and it's your choice whether you will continue your journey here or not, but in my opinion bitcoin is very useful to us especially in those times of pandemic that many of us prove it's worth.
