Looking for that perfect last minute gift?  I've got just the thing!  Point your miners to bravo-mining.com and if you find a block before the end of the day tomorrow, you'll get 1.225BTC.  Now that's a nice stocking stuffer!
22  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why all miners need to mine on a pool that pays them the tx fees. on: December 24, 2017, 03:35:19 PM
Preach on, Brother Phil!  I fail to understand why people continue to donate their coins at such an alarmingly high rate.  Maybe they're just so used to paying taxes, that losing 30% seems normal...
23  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why are you still mining on AntPool? on: December 19, 2017, 06:49:07 PM
Because this is the best pool and gives 0.0024-0.0026 for each S9
Some people just don't understand...

Look at the latest blocks.  Other than the empty block (yes, AntPool is STILL mining empty blocks, even though there are nearly 200k unconfirmed transactions) each block solved by AntPool today has averaged over 4BTC in fees.  Every.  Block.  As of this post, that's 77.14335391BTC AntPool has kept for themselves since the day started.

Let me put that in bold for you:

77.14335391BTC

They've solved 18 blocks so far and generated 225BTC from those solves.

They have kept 34.29% of your earnings.

You guys using and/or promoting AntPool are deluding yourselves and others.  Would you like it if your boss said, "Hey, I'm going to keep an extra 15% of your paychecks"?

That's what AntPool is doing to you.

Stop mining there and putting all that extra coin into their pockets.  Mine on another pool and put that coin in your own.

It'll be a nice stocking stuffer for sure Smiley

All,

It's one week to Christmas.  I'm increasing the block finder's bonus.  If you are the next miner to find a block, you will get 1.225BTC bonus.

Merry Christmas and good luck everyone!
27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: December 16, 2017, 05:05:58 PM
Got one of my S3 running. Will probably be running when asleep so I dont kill power bill.
I think I fried half a board on one of my S3 overclocking it. Lol

I looked on ebay for what a S3 is going for and its nuts. I might sale my 3 I payed $30 for each one.
I've got 8 of them sitting in my basement... lol.

So, BTC hit $19,000 today.  Let's find that block so I can give somebody a very happy holiday Smiley

Glad I actually saw this. Sent about 15TH/s your way. Fingers crossed... 1BTC would go a long way for my family right now.

AHH! Help. I just pointed two Avalon 741s your way and they started SCREAMING. The loudest I've ever heard them. The monitor says they're only at 40-50% and its around 45-50F where they're located.

What happened?
Hopefully they've calmed down.  My Avalons occasionally let out a few screams, but they settle back down after a few minutes.  I can see that you're hashing away on the pool.  Good luck!

Hey Jonny I got a small 45gh doing nothing here :p Im just not able to connect to my account. Any idea why ?
I go into login write the email and password and it doesnt said wrong password just do nothing and bring me back to the login apge ??
PM me your sign on info (email you use is just fine) and I'll take a look to see if I can spot anything in the database, or the logs.

Every bit of hash helps!  Maybe you'll be the lucky block finder and take home that extra 1BTC bonus Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: December 12, 2017, 11:50:29 PM
All,

Due to the increased transaction volume and the correspondingly increased transaction fees, I've had to increase the withdrawal fees on the pool.  They are now 0.001BTC per withdrawal request.

If the fees across the network drop back down, then I'll adjust back down as well.

I hate to do this, but the network dictates the increased fees.

Also, please note, the block finder's bonus is there for the taking!  Find our next block and get an extra 1BTC in your pocket from me.

Worker page will not load for me, most of the account pages are really slow and I'm trying to create a couple new workers. Can you take a look?
I'l'l have to address the SQL queries to optimize them for the large data sets present in the database.  Until then, I can manually create new workers for you directly in the database.  Check your PMs.
32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What services offer being able to buy hashpower for mining within pools? on: December 11, 2017, 02:26:14 PM
You mean since NH got hacked?

The only one I can think of is MRR (Mining Rig Rentals): https://www.miningrigrentals.com
33  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: December 10, 2017, 04:21:30 PM
i found that im getting paid accurately for the found blocks, dead on the numbers in fact. about half as much twice as often at Antpool minus the 30% fees which they just keep.

This was a good enough deal for antpoolers when bitcoin was less of a thing and tx fees were insignificant, with Eligius pool drying up a lot of us went to Ant for the zero pool fee.

Antpool has not addressed the point, now that tx fees are running 25-33% and up (of the block reward), They are simply relying on consumer ignorance (a faithful old freind of the merchant throughout history) to dodge/skirt the issue.
They most certainly do address it.  It's right on their website:
Quote
Assign to you alter Antpool found a new block and the new block confirmations more than 3 (Transaction fees not paid out to miners for maintaining cost and the bonus for our engineers). Earnings = 12.5 BTC * Your share count in 2.5 difficulty cycle / Total share count in 2.5 difficulty cycle
(I put the bold in there so it's clear).

They have ALWAYS kept your fees.
34  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: North American Mining Pool on: December 10, 2017, 03:16:39 PM
Bigger means better...

For some reason, people have it in their heads that they need to see a daily income when mining BTC.  I find the concept odd.  You don't get paid daily at your job.  You don't have to pay your electricity daily.  You (likely) don't need to fill your car with fuel daily.

Once people get this concept in their heads, they automatically flock to the biggest pools.  I'll pick on AntPool here, since it is the biggest, which must mean it's the best.  Oh look, they are 0% fee mining!  That's the best ever!!!

Read the fine print.  When AntPool hits a block, they keep the transaction fees.  It's right on their website.  So... that 0% mining really isn't.  Look at the average transaction fees per block.  Today alone after finding 12 blocks so far, AntPool has pocketed over 30BTC.  Those fees are supposed to go to miners.  The very reason those fees exist is because they are to incentivize miners.

This about this another way.  As we continue forward, the block reward diminishes.  It started at 50, then went to 25 and is now 12.5.  Each time the reward diminishes, the fees become more important.  If you stay with AntPool, you continue to make less and less.

So, bigger is not necessarily better.

The change has to start with YOU, and with miners like you.  Because of the "bigger is better" mentality, and the "I need to get paid daily" attitude, people will continue to flock to the big pools.

How many shares are needed to see 0.000001 unconfirmed BTC account balance? I'm throwing .07 TH/s at the pool. Hoping my S4 will arrive before the holidays.

NiceHash survivor/beginner
Hi Scorppro,

You won't see any balance until a block is found.  The balance is unconfirmed until the block matures.

Hope this helps Smiley

Anyone lose coin from the NH hack?  Don't know where to point your rigs now?

Try pointing them here!  If you're the one who finds the block, you'll get a 1BTC bonus.  That might help to lessen the sting of loss from the NH hack.
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Penalty of submitting invalid share in mining pool on: December 06, 2017, 07:13:14 PM
If by invalid share you mean "a share that still conforms to the structure of a share, but doesn't make sense in the context of the work given to the miner", then the pool would just reject your work.  Only valid share submissions are counted towards your rewarded work.  My pool just lumps all non-valid submissions into a single "invalid" category.  When you log into your dashboard, you see your valid shares and your invalid ones.

The penalty?  Invalid shares aren't counted towards your eventual reward.  Let's take an extreme example: you submit 50% valid shares and 50% invalid shares.  The result?  You get half of what you were expecting.

Hey why not use antpool ?
Sounds fair with antminers Wink Cheers !
Sure, use AntPool if you want to lose out on a ton of coin.  AntPool does NOT give its miners transaction fees.  Those go right into Bitmain's pockets.  Take a look at the average transaction fees per block.  As a miner, those are YOURS.  It's the entire reason for charging fees - to incentivize miners.  Yet, Bitmain keeps your coin.

Do yourself a favor.  Mine somewhere else.  Lots of other (and quite frankly better run) pool options out there.

That game was fun!  Ton of work on his part, though.

yeah  spent hours and hours doing it.

Was fun  now crypto coins  are more serious  cause

12,600 a coin = good money.
LOL Phil... we were saying it was good money at 500... and 1000 was an unrealistic goal.  Now it's near 13k.  What a ride it's been!
