21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Your Bitcoin storage solution? "Share It!" on: April 12, 2014, 07:13:52 PM
I felt like creating a thread..... how do you store your Bitcoin (No Locations!)

I use 2 USB's which have my private keys on them,
I have paper wallets with my private keys on them,
I have 1 USB with a bootable OS to securely access my private keys without compromising my cold storage...

What about you?!?!

Ahh I had this problem with XP the other day and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, but when I tried to call support they told me they were now all dead.
Was the support team dead??? Shocked
I always knew Microsoft was evil, but this… Oh my...

A moment of silence for the Windows XP support team....

I miss Windows XP, I still have a fresh sealed copy. Is it even safe to use it anymore? I wouldn't mind installing it on a spare PC.

I wanted to get a few opinions, sorry for the multiple threads. I just get paranoid since it isn't a small amount of Bitcoin at stake (Mid-High double figures). Plus my private keys are stored in a safety deposit box so I needed to know if I need to replace them.

Anyone else share some light on my situation, don't want to lose my Bitcoin since it isn't a small amount.. :9

I created 4 private keys offline in Bitcoin-QT 9.0 via TailsOS. My client never touched the internet, do I need to bring my cold storage online to create 4 new wallets in 9.1?

Shameful quote, I need to know Sad

Cliffs >

Downloaded Bitcoin-QT 0.9.0
Disconnected from Internet
Generated 4 Private Keys
Wrote them down
Formatted USB

Are my coins still safe or do I need to download 0.9.1 or w/e due to the bug

36  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Safe Offline OS? on: April 03, 2014, 11:22:57 PM
Hey Everyone,

At the moment I have 2 USB's with my 4 private keys backed up on each, I used Tails to create the private keys with Bitcoin-QT, I have since removed Tails since I don't use Tor etc and needed the USB and now I want to print my private keys to have a hard copy but i dnt wanna compromise my keys by using my windows machine

Which OS is best to put onto a USB to boot into to access my private keys from my 2 usb's?

37  Economy / Service Discussion / f u blockchain.info, :( on: April 02, 2014, 11:54:17 PM
Jesus Christ...

I orig created this account to ask for some help on what happened to my funds but..... i guess it's fine now.

I logged into my Blockchain.info account earlier as I had a payment from someone and was about to send it to my paper wallet then i saw all my transaction history gone and my balance at 0... it wasn't a huge amount but it was around 1.5 BTC which would of pissed me off

I was thinking well... I guess i've been hacked and started to freak out as I didn't have a clue how......

kept logging in and out and gave up and just ran malwarebytes and went out to grab something to eat

come back home log back into the blockchain to see if i could find the tx where my funds go bye bye and boom my transactions appear and my balance is restored....

wtf happened?

oh yh i just enabled 2fa
