Now i`m getting worried.

I sent my order through for 2 s3`s and now my order has expired without it being acknowledged.....

Dito!

I put 1 order through for 2

then 5 minutes later another 2

The second order went through almost immediately but the first has expired with no confirmations :s

Bitmain are pretty trustworthy, they'll sort this i'm sure!

As i thought, bitmain have manually sorted it for me already Cheesy

How did they sort it out? Do you mean it shows "Paid"? Does it say "Expired"? Because mine says paid and expired.

Yep. Dont panic, all will be fine  Tongue

Bullshit. Even if there is a screwed-up parallel universe where that statement makes any kind of sense you still can't expect an eBay seller or any other kind of merchant to KNOW and price their products individually to each buyer according to their electric rate and/or their expectation of an unpredictable quantity (i.e. bitcoin difficulty). If the product is advertised with correct specs and delivered on time, the rest is buyer's responsibility.

Thank you, you saved me having to write out a pretty much identical post Cheesy

16,797,892,192 (+24.77%)

Better than the 30% it was displaying a few days ago.

Actual Diff increase prediction I would put at ummmmmm...... 22.45%

Then 26% on the next one, possibly higher.

27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, $1850 per unit, Shipping on June 26th on: June 26, 2014, 06:05:24 PM
Hi,

Before I bother to look into it has anyone had the issue of the Mining pool Configuration details going to defaults on reboot?
In fact nothing seems to be able to be saved from the miner configuration pages. Had a quick check on SSH to see if I could write to any files also and no luck their either.

Any ideas?

 Huh

I think they are waiting to sell all the S2 before launching the S3.

I think that´s the reason.

This is good, because it means that the S3 will be a much better offer (I hope).

Maybe they made a mistake announcing the S3 before depleting their S2 stock.

Everyone knowing the S3 release, whos gonna buy the S2 now?

we dont know when they are going to ship the S3, only that within a few days they are going to open up sales.

I got an S2 a few days ago when btc was 600+ knowing btc would fall by the time they ship it, hence making my purchase even better

Yep, me too! Great minds and all that Cheesy

I do hope many people realize the diff increases have already made this piece of hardware old and redundant. Unless the price for it is outrageously low, which it won't be  Wink

Well as to what works and does not work for roi .78 watts a hash is better then most gear on the market.

The real issue is will fiat to btc change a lot.    I purchased 2 coins at 560-570 usd    so lets say I spent 1130 fiat for the coins.

So for the sake of easy math I send two coins for 2 machines.   I want my fiat back.

So will I get it?  not if coins stay at 565 usd  and diff moves crazy.

So what to do as a smaller  miner get cheap power  under 5 cents I roi .

Buy 2 sell one on ebay   hoping to make 200 on it.  letting me get the one I keep cheaper then oem price maybe.

Hold my 2 coins that I purchased for 1130 hope for price shift maybe.

FYI, bitmain is known widely, so people will just buy directly from bitmain...
btw, hope you can make it bro

I disagree, I've been selling Bitmain products on EBay for about 4 months and I can always sell them two weeks later and at the very least breakeven after ebay fee's and customs fees. So technically I have been mining for free for over 4 months. EBay buyers are often in my experience fairly clueless on Bitcoin and the mining process. They often have recently heard of it and gone onto EBay then jumped into buying hardware without really knowing what they are financially up against.

Selling you hardware frequently is unfortunately the ONLY way to mine on a small scale at the moment, otherwise you'd be better off just hoarding your bitcoin for a while.
30  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 22, 2014, 11:54:53 AM
No need to get panicked. The jump is due to new product test & release. If you look at previous charts there are many such jumps. BTC price will caught it. Be cool.

I think your probably right, but still it wasnt a pretty sight to see for me first thing this morning. The gap between profit or loss on these miners is so small. However one thing I would say, unlike all the other manufacturers with possibly the exception of spondoolies, Bitmain do adjust the price inline with difficulty so that it is possible to make a profit (if managed well, power prices dependent)

Estimated Next Difficulty:    16,847,110,142 (+25.14%) Shocked

With this in mind lets hope the S3 can start at under 1btc, otherwise ROI is unlikely.

 Undecided

Just to depress everyone a little more - Estimated Next Difficulty:    16,982,184,476 (+26.14%)

So lots of page F5 in my browser over the next few days.....  Grin

Price guess @ 1.1BTC for S3

By second batch price will be under 1BTC

People will pay over the odds on the first batch (Including me) just to have it 'first'

ROI on any mining now is almost impossible...... Unless you sell your hardware as you restock!

Its the only way to go.

By your miners, list them on Ebay, mine as you sell, as your current miners get sold your replacements come into stock.

You can mine for..... well free if you have the cash up front and take the time to sell them well.

I just sold an S2 for £1700/$2888 here in the UK - I paid £1211 for it a month ago.

So deduct my customs charge of £185 = £1396

and Ebay selling fees @ 10% final value fee = £175

finally Delivery to buyer = £45

= £1295

Profit: 1295-1211=£84

Plus a couple of BTC mined whilst I sell, then repeat the process!

Its not a fail safe method, but at worst you'll break even, at best you'll make a few hundred per 1TH miner in stock per month.

Anyway time to clear the decks for some S3 Action!

Need to report S2 1TH/S Batch 3 hardware issue here.  My first ASIC miner purchase, and you guys had such big name here. It seems that I can never make the gap between Batch 3 and Batch 4 given current hardware issue... :-).  My order id is 00120140427064424805kx9d0G7b0686, placed on Apr 27, you can confirm that.

To be honest, I am very impressed by your fast shipping rate!

  • LCD panel not working
  • Never reached 1Th/S, started around 992Mh/S, then displayed "x" errors after 2 hours. Reboot won't solve it. Over time, more "------------" or "xxx---xx-x" shows up, hashrate constantly dropped as low as about 850Mh/s.

I have had similar issues on a couple of my units. LCD screen not displaying is usually due to loose cable. These generally come loose in transit. The hashrate issue I have also had. I get this when ambient temp is getting to high, but also double check all your cards are seated correctly.

Have fun!

Anyone seen the bitmaintechs dot com website popping up?

99% sure its a fraud as all text is copied from the bitmaintech site but with the introduction of a Scrypt miner + some other products.

40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Breaking $500 within 24 hours on: April 24, 2014, 09:04:08 AM
Is it me or are many out there taking this way to seriously, its a 'Predictive' informative based site. Its a experimental service which you can choose to use or not to use at your own will. The poor developer never claimed to know the future or guarantee exact predictions.

The bitcoin market is always going to be prone to unknown factors due to the media and unknown personal opinion or motive, however this will overtime become less of a problem as the market stabilizes .

It would not be impossible though to incorporate media news into the prediction Algorithm, however it may require some manual intervention for defining media results with a negative to positive scoring system. Future events and important dates can also reflect the value, but again this could be incorporated but would require human intervention to collate such events and rate them in 'affect factor'

Anyone why don't people give more advice and support to the developer rather than mock and cuss at every negative result the prediction may display.
