21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: November 25, 2016, 11:41:17 AM
v8.0:

- improved speed by about 15-25% (depends on card model). Up to 300H/s on stock 390X.
- added "-i 5" and "-i 6" values, 1-2% speedup, but can be unstable in some cases.
- now remote management is working in read-only mode by default.
- some bug fixes and minor improvements.

We are waiting v.9))))) Would you do that version or will be waiting for other miners?
and Rx4.. card... can it surprise us?

Upgrades are worthless (imho)
It was the great stuff at the beginning, but currently, with the current network hashrate is pointless...

you just get a few bucks (or cents) more ,for a 6 - 12 hours lapse, until all the network is updated to the latest version, and the diff stabilizes again, and you start getting the same income...

but it's great to see how developers are working nowadays on their sw, the dev fees are juicy.. and they deserve it.
It's like old btc days.

note: let claymore take a breath (for a few days)..  Grin

1280. I started undervolting with 1075v, now I am at 1025v... I dont think it can go any lower. 1000gpu/1450mem. its stable for last 24h.

thanks for the info, i'll test it with my rig
currently i'm 115h/s at 1080/1500mhz...
Hey guys,

One of my rigs is r7 370's (Pitcairn)

After the latest update in my Win 10
for some reason whenever i start Claymore v8 it crashes right after it starts

Any ideas? (without rolling back to pre-update)

Thanks

Did you updated your drivers? that could be the problem... if you did, try cleaning up with DDU.

I heard that w10 is the worst OS for our "hobby"... and also for privacy.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: November 25, 2016, 10:08:29 AM
my undervolted sapphire r9 270 are doing 115 - 120 sols on win7 at 490 - 500 watts from wall,  very nice. I have to use 6xGPUmod to recognize all 5 cards.
that's nice

1024sp or 1280?
Would you share your undervolt config / freq?

thanks in advance, happy mining.

Trinidad pro 1024sp

Stock           860 core 1200 mem: 106h/s (not bad)
Oc mem        860 core 1425 mem: 110h/s (just Oc'ing mems)
Oc core        900 core 1425 mem: 105h/s
testing....

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: November 25, 2016, 09:51:49 AM
thanks for the info adaseb.

Maybe at 860-900mhz core and 1425 mems it could stay at 100h/s
(1425mhz mem is from the classic r7 265)

I'm trying to find the best power efficiency / hashrate

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: November 25, 2016, 09:22:43 AM
Hi,

just to know: who could tell me the hashrate for 7850 and r9 270 not overclocked and undervolted.

Since Version 8.0 i'am thinking about to switch my rigs from ethos (ethereum) to W 7 64-Bit and claymore (zcash)

thx

r7 370 currently 110h/s stock 985mhz core.
7850 is the same? r7 265 too.... right now i'm confused (thanks amd)

Let's mak it more easy:

r7 370 is a rebranded r7 265... r7 265 is a rebranded HD 7850.... TDP 110w, doing 110H/s (Trinidad / Pitcairn pro)
r7 370x is a rebranded r9 270x... r9 270x is a rebranded HD 7870 XT... TDP 150-180w, doing a bit less than 110H/s. (Trinidad xt, Pitcairn XT)

Why a r7 370 (7850) beats a 270x? I don't know... theyre the same "chip" in different editions (pro vs xt)...somehow it does, thanks to the drivers, and AMD.

note: R7 265 overclocks like a motherf*cker. It's one of the weirdest cards AMD has ever made

thx but as far as i know ist a R7 265 a rebranded HD 7850 and a r7 370 a rebranded r 9 270 (without x)

so R7 370 = R9 270 = 110 H/s
so R7 265 = HD7850 = 92 H/s    ??

have a nice day

Could you test your HD 7850 at stock speed (860mhz core?) and tell me what's the hashrate?
Happy mining, currently ZEC (and for the last weeks) is being more pofitable than eth, better point your rigs to a zec pool.
(If you want to hodl eth, exchange zec for it)

Tahiti cards, 2048 sp  ~ 200 h/s
Ellesmere, 2304 sp  ~ 200 h/s
Pitcairn, 1280 sp ~ 100 h/s
Tonga, 2048 sp - only 140. Why so nerfish?  Undecided

Claymore, fix this issue with Tonga cards pls.

Just a correction:
pitcairn have 1024sp, as i know.

7850 - yes.
But 7870, 270x, and 370x aslo based on pitcairn and have 1280 sp's.
Proof

r7 370: 1024sp - Pitcairn
r7 370x: 1280sp - Pitcairn XT

Mining Pitcairn XT is slower than Non-XT.. atleast in ethereum & zcash

The only 370x (pitcairn XT) availabe is the "vapor X, from sapphire", with a 1075 core, 1450 mem, and a higher TDP (180w vs 110w).
I had one, and always it was the slower one in the rig.... you can't underclock it... it's "locked" at 1075mhz core... overclocking it only gets worse... reducing hashrate.

All 370s in the market (sapphire, xfx, asus, powercolor, etc) are non-xt, with 110w tdp and 1024sp, core clock from 9xx mhz to 1050 in OC editions.

Maybe XTs in gaming are better.

Someone can confirm the power draw of r7 370 @zec?
and, there's some way o reduce it? (undervolt, mem straps?)

Thanks.
