21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies will make you rich overnight? on: November 14, 2018, 05:37:20 PM
One investor says it's the only investment opportunity where a poor person can leverage skill and luck, and literally become a millionaire. So, do you think crypto can make us rich overnight?
Like it was previously said, crypto is one big lottery, so it's almost impossible to become rich quickly without due knowledge and trading experience.

Though it may happen in several cases:
1. If you already had some coins in your wallet that suddenly became extremely valuable (like it was with bitcoin);
2. If you were lucky to guess which of the ~2,000 coins made several X overnight and make a valuable investment.

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Hunter's Problem on: November 14, 2018, 04:52:08 PM
It's that True if you are a truly bounty hunter you will experienced to promote a scam project ico ?
If you do make a thorough research and analysis of the projects you are going to promote there's little chance to be scammed.
Another problem is that many projects extend their bounty campaigns, reduce the bounty hunters' rewards and do not support their tokens, which eventually cost pennies.
These are not scams in the direct meaning of this word, but they introduce the rules that make the bounty hunters' work harder.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins are dying on: November 08, 2018, 08:51:32 PM
what do you think about altcoin,do you think is the time to buy? am afraid because all my money is heading to zero.. Angry Angry
Alts were overestimated during the rush in December 2017 - there were so many promises made by various projects that could never come true.
Since then some projects even launched their main nets - but that brought zero help for their tokens, which are still at least 10 times below the ICO price.
This is not the end of crypto, but definitely some "natural selection" processes are going on that would sanitize the market.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust ERC20 tokens? on: November 08, 2018, 08:06:45 PM
Last year in early december I bought eBitcoin token which turned out to be a scam. Luckily for me I sold them before the ePRX snapshot but alot others have made losses. I really believed this token would be a succes but I've realized that alot of these ERC20 tokens have the same things in common. The devs (or better said scammers) create alot of hype and pretend their token to be the real deal while they never intended to create a working product. I've thought about investing in tokens like Credits and Elixir but I'm afraid they are all the same kind of scam.

Do you trust them?
There is no connection with the token being ERC20 or not and if it is a scam. With ERC being only a platform, it is solely your decision whether to invest in a certain project.
I personally would refrain from investing in things like eBTC, since I fully understand that there is no unique idea in it and the real bitcoin is more trustworthy and reliable.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Government should implement blockchain technology to prevent corruption. on: November 08, 2018, 07:14:08 PM
Blockchain is a good technology that will be use as a tool of transparency to every transaction being done. The government should know and develop a system like this on their system. This will eradicate corruption or transactions being made under the table because there will be a transparency on every transactions and how much money is involve. The budget of the people will be obviously utilize to its intended purpose. Would you agree with this idea?
You mentioned blockchain as a backup for transparent payments, but it could also be used for things like storage of data, which could not be intentionally changed.
One of the examples is implementing blockhain-based system of elections. Imagine there is an open system that prevents cheating with your vote - I think this could be especially demanded in the countries with high level of corruption.
26  Economy / Economics / Re: If you had 10000$ on: November 08, 2018, 07:01:19 PM
If you had 10000$ where would you invest it?  I'm hoping for 10x in about 2 years, how would you personally split that money? There are so many altcoins that I dont know which to pick, I remember the top 5 altcoins from years ago and  now they are all gone, so should I only invest in  BTC end ETH or others like NEO, ADA and EOS?
I would recommend staying away from crypto market - the bull run that we've seen in late 2017 is unlikely to happen in the nearest future.
Look what happened to Ethereum - it used to be one of the most promising coins, and where is it now? - almost below $200.
Btc could be a safe way to store your money, but I'm not sure it will once again hit $20k  - most probably it will oscillate around $6,500 for the next few months.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: November 08, 2018, 06:48:03 PM
How can we get people to use bitcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to get cash as a lot of people seem to do? When I say currency, I mean the literal definition of currency as something that is used as a medium of exchange.
Even online, there are only a few stores who are accepting it as payment.
Demand breeds supply, so obviously there will be more both online and offline stores accepting cryptos if the developers see that it is demanded by the customers.
The main problem is the volatility of bitcoin, so many people would prefer keeping their btc in their wallets as an investment that could cost several times more.
If bitcoin becomes a more stable, buyers would not be afraid of spending it on goods and services.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Africa be a good place for crypto? on: November 07, 2018, 04:39:11 PM
The success of digital wallets in the African continent was really great and based on what I've read on news articles about it, it really helped the economy and the businesses when it all started years ago.
With this in mind, will Africans be welcoming of bitcoin/altcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to earn cash or invest? Like using it as real money / cash?
Using digital currencies requires a well-developed and stable Internet infrastructure and basic computer literacy of the population.
No offense, but I don't think that both these preconditions are fully met in Africa.
Instead of introducing cryptocurrencies there I would rather encourage African governments to spend money and efforts on combating hunger, shortage of water and electricity and building normal homes and roads.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will finally win the Blockchain competition; USA or China? on: November 07, 2018, 04:29:50 PM
Who will finally be the Blockchain Leader in the world; USA or China?
If you mean mining infrastructure, China has already become the world's leader in the number and hash power of local mining conglomerates.
If talking about the widespread use of crypto, I bet on the US. Even though there are new restrictions being adopted to trading and investing in crypto, the US legal system is more loyal to crypto encouraging the citizens to utilize digital coins in their everyday life.
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold & Silver are safe than bank deposits ?? on: November 07, 2018, 04:19:39 PM
I think now fixed deposit interest rates are less than 5% p.a in USA and Europe. In India fixed deposit rates are 6.5%.

Gold and Silver gives average profit of 8% to 12% per year. Silver will most likely give 20% to 30% profit each year from here on to reach $60/ounce.

How secured/safe are investments in gold and silver if you decide to remove/withdraw your money from banks fixed deposits and invest them in Gold and silver ??
Gold is closely connected to inflation of fiat currencies such as US dollar and euro. Yes, its price doubled in mid 2000s, but the value of dollar also fell 40%.
Precious metals were considered to be a "safe haven" during the financial crisis in 2008 and many people invested in gold and silver in order to protect their funds from devaluation.
On the whole, I think investing in precious metals can be as risky as investing in crypto, so I prefer keeping my money in a reliable bank and get that stable yearly profit.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short term Trading investment or Bounty campaigns? on: November 07, 2018, 04:04:10 PM
Which one is preferable short term trading or bounty campaign?
Have limited investment around $400.
Give me some suggestion!
Why don't you try both? By the time the bounty is over and you get the reward you will already have the idea of what trading is and how to sell your tokens.
Enter a bounty campaign and in parallel try to do daily trading with, say, $100. If you think that you are doing everything right and actually making profit, invest the remaining $300.
I hope this strategy will help you not to lose money  Wink
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where are the investors? on: November 07, 2018, 03:54:34 PM
I see that there are many ICOs that fail because of lack of funds even though the concept is good and potential, isn't it if the project is funded and realized the project will be successful and profitable for investors?
Good concept and potential have cease to be key factors of success. The main point now which is taken into account by investors is whether the projects will be able to support its token by implementing a good marketing strategy and listing the token on most popular exchanges. Moreover, many investors have lost a great part of their portfolio value over the past 6-8 months, so everybody now is extremely careful when choosing a project to invest into.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs dying off? on: November 01, 2018, 10:55:02 PM
"September has seen the least amount of funds raised by #ICOs in more than a year. Are ICOs dying off?"

Chart here: https://twitter.com/Bancor/status/1049690978213404673
ICOs are alive, but projects are making a lot more of preparatory work if compared with ICOs held in the first half of this year.
One of the indicators is that bounties are being extended for several more weeks - it means that projects make a more thorough advertising campaign.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin really stabilize any country's economy level? on: November 01, 2018, 09:13:12 PM
As we all have been speaking many times that Bitcoin possesses the power to diminish the use of fiat in a country where it's welcomed with full hearts, I wish to know that does it really have the ability to cope up with the challenges a country's economy faces? Can it help in the growth of their GDP?

As we know, Bitcoin is limited in number whereas Federal Reserve has the power to do monetary easing when things go wild with their economy levels. So with such limitations, can Bitcoin really stabilize any country's economic issues?
As a speculative asset bitcoin can improve the financial state of people, provided that they make a nice monthly profit by byuing btc at a low price and selling it at high price.
Consequently, the consumption level of the population goes up resulting in the increased GDP (which as we know is the final value of all goods and services in the country).
I am not sure if bitcoin can improve the economy if it is utilized solely as a means of payment, but the freedom of using crypto is definitely one of the indicators of economic "health" of a country.
35  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is one of the saviors. on: November 01, 2018, 08:54:12 PM
we certainly hear a lot of people whose their lives change 180% because of Bitcoin

based on https://www.livebitcoinnews.com/venezuelans-turn-to-bitcoin-and-online-gaming-to-survive/
when government policies make them miserable, they find ways to survive.

Do you agree with Bitcoin is one of the saviors and are there any of us who have saved their economic lives since focusing on Bitcoin?
and honestly, I'm one of the people whose economic needs have survived because of Bitcoin  Grin
If talking about the Venezuelans, several dollars per day could be a true remedy for those poor people who are forced to suffer from the foolish economic policy of Maduro.
But in well-developed countries people have to earn massively more per month in order to pay their bills and bank loans. In this case bitcoin could rapidly change one's financial situation in case he bought some btc for $200 in 2016 and sold them for $20k in late 2017. Regrettably, not everybody had those several thousand dollars to invest in btc when it was in its lows.
36  Economy / Economics / Re: Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: November 01, 2018, 08:33:18 PM
Hi ! First message here.

If a global disaster would happen on earth ( And I somehow don't wish it ) Would the value increase or decrease ?

I'm not talking about solar flares or EMP. But more like big wars or great natural disaster.

What are your opinions on the subject ?  Cheesy
I think the value of btc will decrease, because a global natural disaster will result in the deterioration of infrastructure.
Problems with electricity and the internet will prevent effective use of all digital services.
Fiats and other means of exchange like precious metals, weapons and food will again be the most valued "money" in this post-catastrophe world.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mass Bounty hunter or Full time crypto trader on: November 01, 2018, 07:36:50 PM
I wonder what is better, a Mass bounty hunter or a full time crypto trader? What are the pros and cons of each chosen position?
Bounty hunting can be profitable only if you have a bitcointalk.org account of not less than Full Member and a Facebook/Twitter acc with several hundred friends or followers (it is preferrable to have all of them).
One can also do translation bounties, but these are risky since the translators are frequently scammed by unscrupulous projects.

At the same time, trading requires some initial capital to be invested and a lot of nerves/time to follow the fluctuations of the market.

I personally chose bounty hunting because trading on crypto market is too much exausting for one having a stable full-time job.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto a danger or an opportunity? on: November 01, 2018, 07:23:34 PM
Crypto has given a lot of changes to our modern world and its potential is still full to be opened in the whole way. There are a lot of tasks of crypto like saving of privacy, giving new working places and so on. But is it right to consider that crypto will replace usual economics because it has more advantages and potential for the future? I support crypto but I have some doubts about its possible negative future because it could be the danger for some countries that have some serious problems in this sphere.
Crypto will not replace the usual economy for at least nearest 50 years - its infrastructure is not yet so well-developed and there are unresolvable problems with regulation of crypto, especially in the Asian countries.
The way I see it is that blockchain will be gradually adopted by the "first world" countries with other states looking at their experience and learning from their mistakes. It is natural - somebody has to be the pathbreaker making headway for others.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think this year will be bad year for ICOS? on: November 01, 2018, 07:14:22 PM
Do you have any good reason to believe that the ICO market is going to grow this year?
This year was definitely very bad for ICOs, even though their number grew almost exponentially.
Most hyped projects indeed managed to reach their hard caps, but due to the crash of Ethereum in mid-summer their tokens are worth several times below the ICO price. Investors are desperate, some of them are selling their portfolio and getting out of crypto, resulting in prolonged stagnation of the market.
I don't have any good reason to believe that the situation will change by the end of this year - something extremely unusual should happen for the market to recover.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if Bounty is scam? on: November 01, 2018, 07:01:15 PM
How do you know if it is a scam? Because I have encountered a bounty that let me finish all the translations first and didn't respond to me after I have passed it. I hope bounties will not be like this anymore because they demand and we did our part but they didn't do theirs. I hope you could answer my question.
Yeah, translation is the most sensitive part of any bounty campaign, since it needs more time to be evaluated.
If I were you, I would try to figure out whether my translation was actually used in their WP and ANN thread, and if it was - report to the forum admins and ask them to ban the initiator of the campaign and all the topics that the corresponding account started. I think this could a nice lesson for project teams not to scam those who diligently work for them.
