21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins - Which are the best? on: August 10, 2014, 04:26:11 PM
If you want to play safe look here http://coinmarketcap.com/ then sort by trading volume, market cap.

As always, invest only what you can afford to lose.

So by this logic if someone's got nothing to lose they should invest nothing?  Grin
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top 5 altcoins - in order? on: August 10, 2014, 04:20:31 PM
I notice quite a few of the coins people recommended at the start of this thread have tanked. Some of the advice offered was not very good.

Smiley You revived this old thread, only to get more bad advice after exactly one response hahaha.

Don't listen to anyone's advice or recommendations.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Withdrawal Delays! on: August 05, 2014, 09:59:50 PM
This is absurd, nobody should have to tolerate this inconvenience without some explanation.

There are always withdrawal issues with Cryptsy. I've requested withdrawals on countless occasions before where they only sent 1% to 10% of my request. No explanation, no apology, nothing.

Basically BigVern can suck a big dick as far as I'm concerned. Fuck that guy.

"Open Beta release - estimate August"

I"m pretty sure not.

We're still working on NCC. We haven't started working on beta features, and we'll need at least 2m to make them.
hmm no problems november btc value is about 3000 usd  Grin and nem stake value will fly

If they push the beta back to November some people are going to bee displeased. And with good reason.

where did I say something about November? Smiley I hope we'll make it till end of Sep. but I think you shouldn't treat it as something set in stone.

We're thinking about some really great features for beta, that would really make launch SOMETHING.

There's really no room for error when dealing with something as important as this, so we need to get it right and also have innovative features that will blow people away at launch.

What about ease of use? Will these new features blow away the average person or just the tech savvy?

Can you point me to a thread of where I can read about these upcoming innovative features that are being implemented?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Last two Bitcoins on Ethereum on: July 26, 2014, 12:08:17 PM
Might even be longer than six months..

BTW - 2 BTC is only going to get you around 0.000033% of all Ether.  Just to see a 10x return you're probably going to have to wait until Ethereum is worth $300 - $500 million and no alt other then Litecoin has done that.  I'm not saying it can't happen but Ether right now is just speculators and there's no guarantee that crypto mainstream will even come on board.  Maidsafe was another huge IPO and that was a major let down and people would had made way more money off Darkcoin.

Especially considering the time you are waiting for Ether to come out - you might have missed out on several good opportunities.  You don't need to go big to score big, people who invested $150 into NxT back in October 2013 made $2-$4 million.  It's too late to reverse your decision but you're technically better off diversifying into multiple promising coins than throwing all your eggs into one basket.

Auroracoin almost hit a billion dollar market cap, even if it was only for a brief moment. Certainly not impossible for some other coins to accomplish this because Litecoin was not the only one.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will one doge coin hit 10 dollarS? or 1 dollars..? on: June 25, 2014, 01:56:04 PM
ROFL at this topic man

DOGE goin to $1 or $10 is as likely as u becoming the president of the united states of america while being struck by 100 lightning bolts at the same time

in other words:  utterly delusional n totally stupid hoping

~CfA~

well there is allways a chance, but even 1$ seams over-optimistic for now.
0,01 $ is a better shot, and will also bring you big profit.
i remember some cryptos that were worthless alts, but after bitcoin spike you could make a fortune on them.

if it means nothing to sell them , then dont, better to have some hope for something, than to sell an idea for 20$

For Dogecoin to reach $1 USD they'd need a market cap of $85,000,000,000 USD or roughly 11 times the current market cap of Bitcoin.

Even at $0.01 USD they'd still need a market cap of $850,000,000 USD.

I don't see either ever happening.

I think the logo design is nice, but who choose those colours? Green, Orange & Purple? That's a horrible colour combination in my opinion.

The logo could look really sharp with the right colours, but as is it doesn't look good or professional. Maybe you guys need help from someone with a better eye for aesthetics/design.

You have got to be kiddin me.

Sorry not trying to offend anyone. I know there are way more important things for the dev team to focus on, but I personally don't like it. To each their own.

Purple?......looks blue to me.......

That's interesting. I don't know how anyone could think that's blue, I didn't know colours could be subjective  Smiley.

So is patmast3r now in charge of distributing the remaining 500 + tokens or is someone else responsible for that?  Some clarification on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Who has access to this NXT account (13254208495541261949)? Patmast3r?

How many NEM tokens have been requested & issued since this Utopian Future situation happened?

Thanks in advance for answering.

Yes I'm in charge of that.
I've issued about 10 tokens since UP left and have about 20 more that will be issued with the next batch.

Thanks for replying so quickly. When are you issuing the next batch?

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 10, 2014, 11:07:07 AM
Seems like there's still roughly 600 Nemstakes available to be claimed, with the first 400 going to 3 kinds of people - NEM enthusiasts, NEM whales and NEM early dumpers.

I'm guessing not everyone follows this thread or the development of NEM on a daily basis, there's still probably a large amount of people who are on the stakeholders list and don't know about the NXT AE or have yet to claim them, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Are there any statistics available on the amount claimed vs. the amount sold on the NXT AE?  I would like to know how many people claimed a NEMstake just to hold.  The higher the number the better in my opinion.

The early dumpers are a good thing as it gets rid of people who aren't that interested in the development of NEM and just want to cash out, but several accounts holding more than 2 NEMstakes doesn't bode well for the NEM either.

The distribution model is one of the better things NEM has going for it.  I'm wondering if the NXT AE has ruined that to a certain extent. If it turns out that only a dozen or so guys are holding 10 plus stakes than this discourages new members joining this community.  That's not what anyone wants to see as far as the long term success of this coin is concerned.

Thoughts from anyone more informed than me would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I think the NXT exchange was a good idea for latecomers, but i didnt like how the prices were pumped up so high, i also have read that some people were able to claim NEM stakes for only 40 NXT before being listed on the AE.
It was my fault for buying into the FUD about NEM and was advised by many that i paid too much for it at 15K, so i sold it thinking it was going to drop in value.
Now im going to have trouble buying one, i should have kept it.

I only want to know if the NXT AE has increased the number of NEMstake holders (even only owning 0.1 Nemstake) or decreased the number of NEMstake holders (i.e. less than the 400 issued thus far).  I'm not interested in what it's currently selling for as the market will always dictate the price.

In any case I don't understand how a few posts on the NXT board could influence you to sell your stake at a lower price than you bought it at.  I'm afraid that decision was all your own doing no one else's. I lost my first BTC to day trading last year, but learnt a lot as a result of those mistakes.  I didn't blame anyone or even become disenchanted from crypto currency. It just made me more informed too look out for more interesting projects with an eye on the long term as opposed to just trying to make a quick buck. Today's price of NEM isn't even that important in my opinion, it's the level of participation and enthusiasm from the community that's of far greater interest to me personally.

I'm not selling any NEMstake, but I would encourage you to do more research and buy back in if you feel encouraged about what your read about NEM dev team and the amount of effort that is going into it.  Really smart, transparent devs are hard to find in the crypto world.

How much is a NEM stake right now? Converted to BTC

Roughly 1 NEM stake = 1.8 BTC as of right now, but it's fluctuating every hour of course.

Since the NXT AE launch it hit a high of 5 BTC and a low of 1.3 BTC roughly if my calculations are correct.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: June 08, 2014, 07:02:13 PM
Some people on the asset exchange have upwards of 12 stakes.  I saw multiple accounts with over 10 just scanning through. Some big holders are beginning to form.

This is to be expected on the NXT AE, but I think it's only possible to claim 2 stakes once NEM is officially launched to avoid such hoarding.

Can someone who's more well informed verify that this is in fact the case.  Thanks in advance and dev's keep up the great work!

Well, two stakes per NXT account, but that's easily avoidable. Just makes it more difficult for the whales to cash out their NEM.

Well that's a big difference. At least there's some effort to try avoid this type of hoarding, but I understand that it would basically be impossible to avoid this type of action on an AE, it's simply human nature.

Anyone know how many of the 1000 tokens have been issued? Also does anyone know how long the NXT AE runs for?

I'll be interested to see how the public auction works out on the Bitcoin blockchain.

As of today, 388 people have requested a token (source).

For your second question, Check out this thread.

Quote
8. NEMstake tokens will expire and has no more conversion power after the completion of V1 blockchain (about 2 months after the official launch). All NEMstake tokens will be destroyed by sending them back to Nxt genesis block.

So the tokens will be valid until September/October time.

Awesome thanks for your help!

Any idea when the public auction will happen or it's still yet to be determined at this point?

who sold at 50k? your guna regret that move lol

Is it possible that some people are overestimating what these shares could go for?

I understand the desire to profit from an investment, but someone needs to be willing to buy at the price you're willing to sell, no?

It looks like most people who requested a NEM token aren't serious about selling at this point.  Where are the 300 plus dumpers?  Grin
