Alty's latest tweet:
Alty @CryptoPioneer · 16m I'm not giving up on #CLOAK #Cloakcoin ... It's been a long and tiresome journey that deserves success after all the effort put in.
Alty, have you tried looking into what CST was talking about? Doesn't sound like a bad idea to adopt already existing working anon tech and then build on top of it.
Not backtracking at this stage.

Update:
Guys I'm sorry for the time away, but you want communication and here it is.
I've been waiting and waiting for an update from the main dev to get PoSA 3 out the door and for a while there has been little to no advancements that I've seen.
That is the only reason I have not been here.
The last correspondence from my CLOAK dev was along the lines of...
"I'm trying my best but it's proving more difficult than I originally imagined".
Not what everyone wants to hear but that is the situation.

In response to the constant talk of bad PR and bad management etc etc.
You can go round and round talking about things all day long, this isn't right or that isn't right but it doesn't change a single thing because actions speak louder than words.
I'll be more active once Cecil is here but until then... it's just wasted energy.

Update:
It's been a while since my last official post here, yes I know!
I don't like posting about things that carry no weight or have nothing to offer, hence the apparent distance or silence.
As posted on twitter yesterday, there has been a delay on the main projects (community pressure demanded for an ETA of which we were very reluctant to put one out) however, I can show you guys something progressive and tangible to demonstrate that work is happening.
We've been building a sideproject called CloakVPN.
Please check it out and provide some feedback.
http://vpn.cloakcoin.com/
Sorry this is not the update everyone wanted but... Just a bit more patience and we'll get the real projects solidified.
Thank you Cloak Community

TheDagger very exciting dude! The tech looks amazing. I'm buying more!
Can you give an estimate on timelines to deliver this?
Also, can you share information with the community on the dev team that will be implementing this to remove any misconceptions?
Trying to avoid eta's. Will let everyone know as we progress and it's reached testnet etc. Same dev team as before, there have been no changes as we work well together.

Yeah, that was probably talk with MrBoh. We have alty in IRC right now as we speak Tried to talk to him. Asked 3 questions and got 0 answers.. Onlything he could ask is "what coins you like then sushi" or "let's all be quiet for the great sushi" When i said i was not interessted in tslking about other coins he went offline without saying bye Great response.. ulgh Goodbye my dear Sushi... let me get things formulated before making official responses when I'm back from vacation, it won't be long.

Update:
PoSA v2 paper is almost ready just getting some finishing touches made to it.
Later on today it will be posted on www.cloaktalk.org as we aim to encourage community interaction outside of bitcointalk.

these are not employees, they are volunteers afaik. That being said, bittrex should at least issue a statement on their twitter about it and remove the mod in question.
AFAIK said mod has been removed.

Update:
Cloak devs working hard as usual, there's a lot to get done and we're not stopping for anything.
Block escrow for the time being is the center of that development as it applies to both PoSA and OneMarket.
CloakPal, the SMS mobile wallet from the secondary dev team has been made public at www.cloakpal.com
Questions can be directed to Ludx on #Cloakcoin IRC related to CloakPal.
We've also been working on a graphical and relatively "easy to follow" explanation of how PoSA v2 works, that should become public over the next 24 hours or so.
PDF link will be posted here as soon as it's ready and also on www.cloaktalk.org

I read all the info published. Without multisig, I don't see a way of forceful situation in a p2p system. There's no restrictions to the middle nodes, you can't simply "expect" it to behave correctly It is not the problem if we need to know how middle nodes work, it is the problem that if I put a fake node with same APIs but doing different things (e.g. steal coins or send coins to different places), how the system can prevent that? You can't simply expect people use the software you provide, otherwise that's too easy, there will be no cheaters, period. Cloak is in the middle of implementing a "block escrow" system that may share some similarities to a multi sig solution but is infact unique. Once in place there will be nothing that a "bad/fake/evil" node can do to act malicious during a send from A to B. This is because of the order of the posa tx, combined with the blockchain, will not allow corruption. PoSA will soon be entirely anon + trustless as we set out to achieve from day 1. Having any kind of risk that a corrupt node could interfere with a transaction was a genuine concern (of the Cloak team and others) and as such it's been dealt with accordingly.

To help sync to PoSA nodes: You can extract addnodes for 1.9.7.33 from the block explorer http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/Or atm the following are valid and can be added direct to .conf. connect=192.99.43.247 connect=107.191.34.156 connect=173.60.106.117 connect=99.153.243.11 connect=77.187.1.18 connect=91.108.183.162 connect=205.206.237.243 connect=98.203.26.14 connect=70.209.196.121 connect=71.180.246.164 connect=37.48.65.72 connect=106.186.20.153 listen=1

PoSA v1 : Proof of Stake Anonymity
Welcome to the ground floor of a breakthrough anonymous system. In this version we sever the link when sending from person A to person B and therefore there is no solid proof that B received from A. You'll notice in the wallet that there is an extra icon near the minting icon that lights up green when other PoSA nodes are detected. Sometimes a few minutes is needed to find other PoSA broadcasting wallets.
It took no less than 33 builds to get it to this stage, but we're not leaving it there.
Part of the cloak team is already working on a PoSA v2, in which we introduce our "Block Escrow System".
Block Escrow (interestingly an integral part of OneMarket) was drafted in to PoSA to protect senders and receivers from so called "bad actors". What that means is, there is a known risk of a phase 1 node or phase 2 node being a bit naughty and attempting to interrupt the flow of a tx, for self gains or not. It is unlikely that happens but; in our quest for true trustless anon, as laid out on the day we first introduced PoSA we are not ignoring any chances of a "bad actor" disrupting PoSA flow and that concern is now being ruled out entirely.
What we have shown with PoSA v1 is real anonymity and when block escrow is built in, it'll make PoSA the strongest anon system to date (as far as we can tell).
Not only will block escrow make PoSA 100% trustless, we'll be able to provide users with more control over anon sends, to raise or lower the amount of nodes and splits etc but also to remove certain fees that will make a PoSA tx blend into the blockchain even further.
The hard work is completed for PoSA with increased PoSA node stability, various node broadcast checkpoints in place and loads of other tweaks over previous versions in order to get PoSA flow working correctly.
So to recap: In PoSA v1 you now have a working anon right here to play with and test, Cloak team will deliver PoSA v2 in the very near future along with continuous developments of OneMarket and other projects.
Extra command for .conf (optional):
posa=0 Turn posa off, default is on.
Anyone having trouble loading up an old wallet.dat on 1.9.7.33 is advised to make a new one and send some coins over to it.
To send PoSA there is a an Anonymize PoSA check box, after sending once it will stay checked. For normal tx it's recommended to deselect this as using PoSA incurs greater fees for the sender.
Windows 1.9.7.33

Linux 1.9.7.33

OSX / Mac 1.9.7.33
https://mega.co.nz/#!VY1EwaJL!Bnu8oKm5z4Hb4KCQAde_YeWFjDxJ44L-RbodaVmrHeI The time is approaching when we have to introduce a new tx fee structure for Cloak. As the price of 1 cloak rises the fees are getting more expensive. We'll time the lowering of fees (in which a fork will be needed), with the launch of PoSA v2.
PoSA has been a closed source build, to protect it from cloning but when PoSA v2 launches expect a full audit from cryptographer/s or code analyst/s with the aim of adding an extra level of "trust and authenticity" in our work.

PoSA Update:
There have been two big changes in 1.9.7.27:
First:
Instead of relaying any POSA Service Availability Announcements around that a node sees, it only relays announcements from itself out to other nodes. Originally, relaying them around makes it so the network can light up faster, but then you have no way of directly contacting one of those nodes. It could be a node that a peer of a peer of a peer is connected to. So we changed it so your view of the PoSA network is only comprised of those PoSA nodes you are directly connected to as peers.
Second:
There is now an "are you up?" validation check when sending, by sending a check message and waiting for the acknowledgement. If we don't get an acknowledgement before it times out to verify that the node is still up, then the send fails.
PoSA testing is continuing and we'll aim to get a public version out soon.
