If enough people feel this way about MintPal, then we will rethink our immediate "social community support" plan Smiley

Do you guys think we should concentrate on getting published on the BBC Tech News website?  They wrote an article about KanyeCoin before, so I'm sure they'll be interested in BritCoin..  Plus they've publish countless articles about btc.

idc i  sold a my coins..i made 5x profit ...thanks! now im out of this coin..cuz country coins and watch every countrycoin on exchanges...tell me one who has a great value

Well done to you, but with regards to your country coin comment..  We believe BritCoin is the first real country specific coin, no disrespect to other coins, like ScotCoin (99% premine? lol).  And let's not forget that this is a long term project, a lot of the coins will life fast and die young, we intend to be around for a long time.

Wake up to find BritCoin was added to the Bittrex exchange in the early hours last night!

Well done to everyone who helped us get listed, next we hassle MintPal. Wink

Remember, don't sell low! Smiley

Don't do mintpal. IT will get pumped and dumped to shit.

you know, I'm getting sick and tired of reading shit like this.

No facts, no proof. Not even a valid reason to be hating mintpal. Just some random ignorant dumbass spouting crap for no reason whatsoever.

caught!

u lost to much of ur panic sells on pump and dumps or u dont know when go in and when out??

Lets be honest here though...MP is a p&d. Some people say it "kills" coins, but I disagree with that. What I dont disagree with however is that when something hits MP, 95% of the time, it gets dumped, and dumped HARD.

Recently just to name a few GUE, SUPER, MIN, and last night, URO. All these coins got dumped hard...URO's value dropping 50% in less than 24 hrs.

All 4 of those coins were experiencing a happy uptrend in Bittrex. Slow & steady. Then Mintpal happened. DUMP.

All coins had potential but it created huge FUD for current holders so many dumped, and new investors are hesitant to get in. It sucks for legit coins like MIN who have huge potential, but a few days after MP add, value dropped to BELOW its original value in Bittrex pre-Mintpal add. That coin is so promising, and its probably going to take weeks to recover.

Not saying ALL coins die in MP, but usually when theres an immediate dump, it never reaches that peak anymore. Look at the MAX trend in MP will half the coins. Basically, once added in MP, there is a very high chance that the coins value will significantly decrease within 72hrs.

Dev i recommend we let BRIT mature in Bittrex. Get some features out, etc.. lets establish the coin first. Then hopefully after some weeks, we'll give mintpal a shot, but right now is seriously too premature.

when this coin get dumped to a good rebuy than im back in but its much profitable atm
@Dev, you need to remove support for mintpal on your signature, concentrate on adding features and update on twitter, more community activities including facilitating volume on bittrex then may be this country coin will be diffrent from the likes of spa,isr etc!

Dev, please confirm your premine. I am sure, until that's confirmed, no big investors are going to be in this coin. Transparency is the key.
I must agree with you on this transparency is the key, but there is so much fuss about pre-mined if dev's pre-mined is not more than 1% for me it's ok. If i've been bursting my ass coding for weeks on the coin that i created 1% pre-mined is not too much for my labour. If you don't want to invest because of that go look for another coin!

yes bittrex kill the coin Sad

Bittrex does not kill the coin. Bittrex is competitive and is good for the true market value of the coin. It is only coin that has nothing to offer that should be afraid why because it is going to be trashed and dumped!

People buy Korecoin the fist 100% real anon with Zerocoin futures,  Tor protocol and anon mixing service.
Will realeased in the next 24/48 hours.
Buy on bittrex.com

Any coin claiming zerocoin implementation are lying. Zerocoin dev has said numerous times that their protocol isnt even fully developed let alone open sourced to other developers
He said with zero coin future but tor integrated!

Gotta love trolls. So obvious he is expecting to buy back cheaper.
These comments are not troll they are reality! There was an issue of fork people waited because they believe in the dev then comes wallet etc. Open your eyes mate coins are coming out with anon on  launch. Some of us bought o high not minding the price because of our confidence in the dev. But look at the value now, i have lost 8btc already. We need to do something fast or else i will liquidate my coin. What is the next positive news that will change the tide if loss Dev?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: July 02, 2014, 12:00:42 PM
The ANN is often the first place people look for info about coins so being absolutely up to date is essential so as to keep rumour, fud etc in check and to let people see what a first mover VRC is. Great work and huge future ahead. Thanks to devs and community.  Grin

Many coins have moved away from their ANN thread as the main source of communication. ANN threads on bitcointalk really aren't the best place to look for information due to the huge amount of FUD in the typical thread. We will, however, try to keep those who choose to look to this thread for information as informed as possible.

And the vast majority of coins have not.

Keeping this thread up to date is absolutely essential.  It is not optional.

As I said, we need to try to do that. However, this is not our main channel of communication at this time.

There is no good reason to not keep this thread completely up to date.  To not do so is just laziness.

The reason is simple. Bitcointalk is not the ideal channel of communication. Many serious coins have moved away from this forum to other channels. Some host their own forum while others use Reddit or IRC. You can try to insult us by calling us lazy, but that doesn't make it so. It just shows that you have no real argument.

Now let me repeat: We will try to keep this thread updated on all our developments.
Do not "try" to keep this thread updated, keep this thread UPDATED as part of your responsibility to us!

People who think a single person can bring down the price of a coin are really obtuse. Let me tell you what happens:

Stages of a coin by SpringfieldM1A

1. Coin gets an announcement, people chime in on the thread, some start mining, some start yelling scam.
2. Coin gets added to an exchange, trading below 100 satoshi. Some normal people buy, some whales accumulate tons of coins. Price rises a little
3. Dev posts positive announcement in thread, some people are ecstatic, a little more people start yelling "scam" and "proof", price shoots up
4. Coin is now starting to trade around 1000 satoshis, peaking at 1500.
5. Dev posts new update, price shoots up again due to whales pumping, more people buy
6. FUD storm starts, people discrediting the coin, whales pull off epic dump, price drops 30 % to 40 % people are afraid and sell their coins cheap.
7. Coin starts trading in lower 500 satoshi range, whales accumulate
8. Silence for some time, 10 days at maximum
9. Dev posts another update, confirming he was legit all the time, whales now pull off an epic pump
10. Make or break point, coin will either grow naturally without the "help" of whales or crash into oblivion due to competition or fundamental flaws.

Can you see what is happening? Whales capitalize on good or bad news, they feed on both your fear and bullish sentiments. This will continue until a coin has a large enough market cap where it will be a lot harder to influence the price by large pumps or dumps. But remember above all: if there isn't found a substantiated flaw in a coin's infrastructure there is no reason for the price to go down. Stop trading with emotion.

Whales look for any signs of fear sentiments in the market, they will dump hard and inexperienced people see the price go down and think "Oh my god the coin is crashing" and sell. This is exactly what happened to VOOT, a single user (inadvertedly) posts serious FUD ammo for whales to massively dump, but there is nothing wrong with VOOT ! It is one of the coins that actually delivered a working anon function.

It works both ways, if whales spot bullish sentiments they pump.

Sometimes you see a massive dump on good news, why is that you may ask? Well if the news is really good, whales see potential in a coin and they want to buy more for a cheaper price. They dump to initiate panic sells "Hey I thought the news was good? why is the price dropping? I'd better sell" is what new people think, then proceed to dump their coins right into the whales' buy order. This will make the rich richer and the poor lose their shirt. Advice: keep an eye on the rich list of a coin in times of percieved crisis, you will probably see the top 50 or so addresses accumulate, while the smaller holders lose coins.

PROTIPS:
Do not invest more than you can afford to lose. This will take out the emotional factor in trading at least a little bit.
Consider your money "lost" the moment you invest in a coin, don't get emotionally attached to your invested fiat ever.
Decide an exit price for yourself and stick to it, don't be too greedy.
Do not cry over losses, this is crypto. You will probably lose a lot before winning. A win can compensate for all your losses though and then some.
Do not cry if you sold "too soon", profit is profit.

I learnt the coin was taken over after the dev left. If you ask for my opinion, i would say this id practical example of "never die spirit of the community" Keep it up people!

ty for this post. I also hold voot because of the community's amazing work at relaunching this one.

Large wall of text

this is a very useful post. Already one time I has been in panic sell and I made a mistake. Now I hold, doesn't matter the fudstorm

Thanks, I try to educate newcomers to this game. In these new and unregulated markets any investment is basically a "lottery ticket". If you invest $100 you just bought yourself a $100 ticket in the Crypto Lottery.

When people buy a ticket in a real world lottery and don't win they think "ah well better luck next time" That is because they can't exert any control over the drawing. The fact that in crypto you can sell, buy etc at any time, that (feeling of) control is what messes with your mind. Just let go, invest, decide an exit point and wait (hold) know but not fear that potentially you lost everything you just invested. That is key, do not fear, say to yourself "I bought this coin and I will hold until it reaches this price" if you see it going down think "ah well better luck next time" That is why you should never invest rent money, grocery shopping money, mortgage payment money etc because with every price fluctuation you either think "wow I can buy this and that" or "damn I can't pay the rent if this drop continues" lose the emotion in trading, really, let it go.

In Psychology we call this loss aversion.  There is a well written Wikipedia article on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loss_aversion  (I could bore you with scientific papers but that wouldn't be fun)

Also be aware of the sunk cost fallacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_costs#Loss_aversion_and_the_sunk_cost_fallacy. Which basically says people keep chasing their investments even if the signs indicate the investment is flawed. In a normal market people should not be afraid to minimize their losses by selling at a loss if the signs are truly bad. But this is crypto take the risk to lose it all, it's all just beer money anyway right? you invested money you could lose so risk it. In crypto trading anything could happen, a coin may be down 80 % today and up 200% tomorrow.

Let me stress this again; in regular markets or in other aspects of life, don't be afraid to minimize your losses by selling at a loss if there is something fundamentally wrong with the equity you are invested in. Ths applies to stock market trading and even figuratively to education and relationships for example. In crypto trading however the sunk cost fallacy shouldn't apply.

Let me end with a quote from Band of Brothers by LTC Ronald Speirs ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Speirs )

The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it.

If you can see the relevance of this quote to crypto trading you will be succesful.
These are coooooool stuff, thanks a million for the education!!

So today Ghash.io have 50% of hashrate on Bitcoin, 51% attack could happen anytime now...
it would be so good if altcoins could be linked to fiat. bitcoin will loose his leardrship at one point with all the evolution going on here.

Chillax FUDDY, a 51% benefits no one and Ghash isn't going to let it happen. This comment doesn't even belong here.

Last week Ghash.io was close to 50% and they said they would not let it happen again , 1 week after here we go again so i am not very confident.  I am pretty sure the last dip we had to 115 was due to bitcoin that's why i comment it.
Actually i am pretty sure that if bitcoin would go back to 400$ a lot of altcoins would follow wich i find silly because bitcoin problems (gox/ ghash.io/ china ban/ Silk road..) should not be linked to us so badly.
My point was if major altcoins could be trade against fiat the link would be broken with bitcoin and their problems would not affect us anymore

Could we find a solution to allow trade with fiat for XC, maybe in development we could have a wallet with fiat balance?

XC would have his own entity and maketcap could grow faster.

I just wish that XC could be free from bitcoin, and XC could overtake bitcoin in the long run.

Let the revolution begin!
@gamestarter I share your opinion concerning xc trading at per with usd. I found an hong-kong based exchange that tradee up to 10altcoin with usd cinnicoin is part of the alt but  there is no xc. We could write the website to include xc. Here is the link: www.crypto-trade.com/ref/Heaven

While all this FUD is going on I think ill remind you all why you are here.

1) XC has the best Dev in the Alt-Currency community fullstop. Check out his LinkedIn profile, this isn't up for debate.
2) XC has the best plan for anonymous technology, and probably the only Dev who could pull it off
3) XC is getting updated pretty much every other day, its moving at a faster pace than nearly any other coin
4) XC isn't just a currency, they are building an entire fucking platform.
5) XC still hasn't been noticed yet by the media
6) XC is hugely undervalued.

Let me just elaborate on number 6 for you guys, what you saw today was a crash that was inevitable. I've explained it before check out those posts. What's coming next is the revival, this is also inevitable. You don't go down like we just did without news without shooting back up.

Anyways. I've got my cheap coins, ill be back in two weeks to collect their value.

See you then.

Cheers.

I agree with everything on this numbered list. This is currently the best investment in crypto. The dev is 100% behind this coin and working on it daily. Great progress is being made. As with any new coin or business there will be some setbacks it is just the way it works. If you are just trading this coin I would predict that at some point in the future you will regret that you do not hold as many of these as possible. This is not just another coin with no vision, there are plans in place or the future. While other coins have plans in place our dev has the ability to deliver on those plans.

I saw an opportunity when this coin was first announced and still see the same opportunity now. The difference is when first announced the risk was extremely high. That risk factor has gone down tremendously at this point. we know who the dev is and he is delivering what he promises. Anyone selling now, even if taking a profit, is in my opinion making a mistake if at all interested in the long game. Personally I am holding for the forseeable future. This project may very well be the game changer the crypto world needs.
1000 likes.. This comment in my opinion is the gospel truth about Xc! I'm holding though i panicked earlier on this morning!
