21  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: I wan buy memecoin and pepecoin on: May 30, 2024, 06:00:05 AM
Abeg my pipo, I no wan slack oo, make una carry along cos I hear rumour about the inflation for market on how these two coins dey rise. I say make I confirm am from this genuine source. When na true, and if na true una fit throw clue on how I fit buy dem keep?
the best place to ask this question would have been in the altcoin discussion but even at that, I had already made similar thread in the board not long ago and I guess you can go through the replies to get there overview on how pepe is doing at the moment. Here is the link to the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5493562.msg63969839#msg63969839

But from my experience, meme coin isn't worth holding on to, you could risk a small portion of your money into it and when it gets to a certain profit price, don't allow greed blind you to wanting to hold to the coin till it gets to 100x or so. As long as you're in profit, try to zoom off on time so you don't end up loosing your money in the process. I'm not a fan of meme coin and only tried it cause someone spoke me into doing it and surely can't give you any concrete advice on wether it's right to buy it at this time or not but know that one major mistake some people make when it comes to trying to get themselves involved in meme coin is to buy a coin that's already phasing out of the market. Do your findings well and even after you've gotten it all right, don't invest too much fir a start. But I still fell that altcoin discussion board members would give you better reviews though.
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 30, 2024, 05:50:16 AM
Arsenal manager,Mikel Arteta have met with Manchester United's forward and winger Rashford over a potential transfer to Arsenal, and with rumours going around, the winger might complete a transfer to Arsenal this season as Mikel Arteta intends to make the England forward a world class player like Saka.He expects the two wingers to be on left and right wing to false their attack line next season.
However,it is still in doubt whether Man u will allow their star player leave the club next season, but I believe there is no player Arteta will convince and talk to who won't want to play for Arsenal, therefore,I believe Rashford have agreed to play for Arsenal,it is left for United to decide to sell or not.
it's definitely going to be a good signing from both ends and might be a turning point in rashfords carrier that has taken a downward trajectory at Manchester United for a while now. Combining rashford and saka at the two wing possition would solidify the attack greatly and maybe rashford would start more matches at arsenal than what he's been having in Manchester United.

I don't think that it's going to be a big deal for Manchester United to give out rashford and bring in a substitute for his replacement. Dude hasn't been all that effective in the team and though on his part he seems to love playing for the team, I don't see his impact being felt by the team that much and if he goes off the team, it wouldn't even after there overall performance at the end of the day. Would want to see more signing into the arsenal squad to better prepare them for what's coming out in the next cause the competition wouldn't be easy at all. Chelsea have gradually gone back to there form and Manchester City isn't relenting at all to still defend there spot on the top of the premier league table. It's going to be a tough fight and any team that's interested in getting the trophy would get the best tool on time or else pep will still steal the trophy all to himself.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: May 30, 2024, 05:39:06 AM
funny enough, this is going to be the first year for a long while that I will be actively following up on all major sports events accross the globe. Seems like my undergraduate journey has taken a lot from me and I can't even remember the last time I followed up on the Olympics.

I would definitely look out for the relay racing since that's actually the second sports I enjoy most outside of football and maybe I will have to follow up on basket ball also. Don't know if my country would be participating in the Olympics this year and the sports they are most likely going to be featured in. What's mostly common in my region is football and its tournament and apart from AFCON, world cup and other major qualifiers, no one really talks that much about other sporting events that's going to be featured in the Olympics. But maybe it's because I haven't actually paid more attention to those other sports and it might be possible that they already have representatives in those sports that will be going to the Olympics.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 30, 2024, 05:27:26 AM
Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
lol!
My mum isn't even technologically inclined to know what Bitcoin is all about even at the moment and it didn't even make any difference to her if Bitcoin existed or not. In her time as a youth, what's mostly predominant at the time is basically doing the regular market trading where you sell your goods in the local market with the use of the fiat and that was okay for them and they didn't need much of an alternative means of financial systems outside of the banks. Dad on the other hand has some basic knowledge if Bitcoin based on his personal research but hasn't bought one or even thought on considering putting a dime into it as a possible investment option. It's for a generational something where a particular generation is exposed to a certain way of wealth creation that's somehow different from what's obtainable with the previous generation.

Did this affect my journey into Bitcoin? Absolutely yes. I didn't get know about the decentralized system earlier enough because no one around me was interested in it but only got to know about it when I started my undergraduate journey. If I had stayed back with my parents, I would have most likely taken the same financial part they took. What's going to be the general implication of my knowledge on Bitcoin to my children? They will learn all the basics of Bitcoin investments at an early age and with my exposure on the importance of making early investment, I would Ensure that start off as early as possible but that's going to be at there own discretion. Don't really fancy the idea of imposing shit in people.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 30, 2024, 05:12:23 AM
The best thing to use is that before should accumulate Bitcoin he or she must have some cash that will serve as emergency funds while they accumulate , like instance being paid $100 and $50 can serve as emergency funds. He or she can use $30 as his weekly purchase fir Bitcoin accumulation, while he hold the remaining amount as reserve funds.

I think that you understand that it is not necessary to establish an emergency fund prior to getting started with bitcoin... but yeah, the more disorganized a person and the worse situation of his finances, then he might need to be careful regarding how much he puts into bitcoin without making sure that his finances are not in order so that he does not have to sell any bitcoin at a time that is not completely of his own choosing, so any guy with bad finances might have to balance how much he is putting into bitcoin, yet there may well not be any reason NOT to get started, even with $10 invested in bitcoin, but yeah, if a guy has absolutely no disposable income, then he is not in a position to invest into bitcoin, so there is a need to have disposable income prior to investing, and sometimes there could be some struggles in terms of figuring out the extent to which a guy has disposable income and then at the same time, if there is building of an emergency fund, reserves and./or float at the same time that there is investing in bitcoin, the bitcoin investment may well have to stay pretty small while these basis financial matters are getting put into some kind of an order that actually establishes that disposable income is being used rather than money that is going to be needed for short or medium term expenses.
I think that @i_Anime is trying to suggest that it's best to be as organized as possible while starting your bitcoin investment as it's going to somehow help you continue investing at a spontaneous pace without necessarily making some readjustment along the way in a manner that might distort your accumilation plan.  Is strategy seems to be okay for an ideal situation but my issue with allocating upto 50% of your earning into serving as your emergency funds is that to some extent, it might seems as though you're caging a majority of your money. And then if you're also considering keeping our 30% for your DCA and then the remaining 20% for your expenses might appear as though you're somehow misplacing priority and that can affect your whole plan. I feel that The allocation you give to your daily expenses is very crucial because if for any reason it's not meeting up your needs, you've directly exposed your emergency funds to regular touching which will also go along to exposing your holding in the process.

If I'm to remodel this kind of plan, I would rather allocate 20% of my earning to serve as my emergency funds which I will continue adding up to a certain time when I have reached a point where I wouldn't have to continue adding. And then 30% can go into my regular DCA while the remaining 50% will serve to Carter for my needs and expenses. I believe that because you're investing for the long run and can't pause all expect of your life because of your investment plan, it's best to allocate a good amount of your earning to serving your basic needs cause you've got to survive and live right before even talking about getting the best out of your investment plan.

But like you've said, these ideal case isn't a criteria that must generally be in place before ever getting started in your investment, depending on how organized your income is, you can decide to start your accumilation journey in a well planned manner or just start stacking and along your accumilation journey you set these variables right. The general and most important thing is to just start buying and with time, the necessary adjustment will always come into play and based on how well you're doing in terms of your finance, you can choose to increase the allocation for your DCA up to 50% of your income and if you're able to set the right financial structure in place, you wouldn't even have to get worried about your emergency funds as seeting out a business or an alternative system that will serve that purpose can just be enough.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 29, 2024, 06:05:51 AM
One thing about investing for the long term is that a relatively modest amount invested could end up adding up to a lot invested, so even though in the short-to-medium term, there might be some difficulties in measuring the amount of value that is retained, but there seems to be a bit of a likelihood for some kind of an upward price trajectory that could happen somewhere down the road.. or mayb even several upward price trajectories, so even someone who is investing relatively modestly, might be able to measure a lot of progress from the over the years modest contributions that end up outperforming other places that the value might have had been kept.. while at the same time, it is not guaranteed to actually go up in value.. but that is true with any investment that we choose to allocate into, we might have some investments that outperform other investments.
so in essence, the main implication or thought process of long term holding should be looked at as a medium through which we can build strong portfolio overtime in such a way that our modest contribution over these years will place the value of our asset in a possition that's possibly better than saving it in fiat or investing it in another asset. in order words, while it's not 💯 certain that Bitcoin will get to the value most persons are speculating in the long,  from the compounding effect of making regular buys over a long timeframe, you're certain to have succesfully built a good amount of Bitcoin in your portfolio which though might not seems to be of great worth while building your stack will turn out to compound into an overall sum of Bitcoin all stocked in the long run.

even if there might be a large number of weeks that we are ONLY able to save/invest around $10 into bitcoin and then maybe there are other weeks that we are able to save/invest $100 or even $1k into bitcoin, so there may well be quite a bit of variance in our cashflow (and/or our disposable income) that affects how much we are able to save/invest, so that in the long run the variable amounts of value that we injected add up but they also may well have ended up holding their value pretty well as compared to other places that they could have been put and/or they might have ened up appreciating in value as compared with other places that the same value could have had been put.
that's so true. At the start when you probably had very little amount of Bitcoin because of how small the amount you use is making your buys is, it might appear as though you're not doing anything serious and at that time, even if Bitcoin goes too high in it value, it would make a big deal for you but consistently stacking your Bitcoin based on the amount you have, maybe starting with $20 and then a long the line increasing it to $60 and then $100 and upward, with time and in years to come, you will find that you've built a good chunk of Bitcoin by just being consistent with your buys regardless of the amount you're using at some different buying moment.
27  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christian and politics on: May 29, 2024, 05:25:46 AM
Is it a good idea for Christians to get involved in politics, because if they are involved in it, they tend to lie, make promises they can't fulfill and sometimes get their hands dirty which is sin.

And ministers of the Gospel, are they suppose to endorse any candidate to their congregants. What's your take?
is it not bolding wrteen in the Christian holy book that when the righteous rules, the people rejoice? how then can they rule if they don't belong to a political party and get themselves involved in the electionary process?

One of the biggest problem we're facing in the society today is that most people that are competent and able to carrying out the task of leadership in the society have decided to told there hands allowing incompetent and aggressive folks to lead us and all they do is to sit back, point of errors that they aren't ready to help solve.

Regardless of your religious affiliation, if you're not ready to get involved in politics, be ready for whatever comes your way cause a time will eventually come when you will find out that the tye decision that's made by these supposed sinner politician must always stand and that you have no option rather than carrying it out regardless of your faith.
28  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What is the situation of Cryptocurrency in Nigeria? on: May 29, 2024, 05:03:14 AM
the Nigerian government has been warming up to cryptocurrencies and even introduced a new digital currency called e-Naira. All this to say that the situation is constantly evolving.
the introduction of the e- naira which is same as CBDC is nothing too serious other than trying to model some of the Financial framework other nations are tilting towards and seeing if it's going to work in the Nigerian situation. It's obvious that from when the whole e-naira thing came on board, it didn't appear as though they wanted it to work and so when it wasn't gaining it deserved attention from the public, there was no strategy in place that was going to ensure that it actually worked and that's just why it appears as though the e-naira just came and went under bed within a short space of time.

Nigerians are among the world’s top adopters of cryptocurrencies, often using them to transfer money, hedge against inflation, and as an alternative to the Naira.
However, there have been instances of fraud and scams involving cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, so caution is recommended.
fraude isn't just peculiar to crypto. banks have actively involved themselves in the highest level of fraude even before crypto gained popularity in Nigeria and even now that crypto is operating side by side with banks, it hasn't changed the narrative at all and the rate of fraude is still increasing by the day.

Understand that when it comes to the level of fraude that's happening in the crypto space, it's just individual that carry out these act but as it regards fraudulent activities in our banking sectors, you have so many persons to be worried about. The banks themselves are a treat, the bankers are another treat and even the government regulations are the bigger threat. There isn't any serious safety in banks compaired to crypto. They are both in the financial sector and one of the common risk that's known of in that sector is fraude. As much as it's good to be cautious while engaging in crypto transactions and holding unto your assets, it's also very necessary to do same while trading with banks.

The Nigerian government has expressed interest in regulating cryptocurrencies, but it's unclear what form that regulation will take.
Despite the uncertainty, Nigerians continue to show interest in cryptocurrencies, with peer-to-peer trading and investment growing in popularity.
as much as I know, crypto has come to stay globally and regardless of the negative interest the government has been showing in this sector, it's just going to last for a period of time after which everything will go normal. They've tried and I know that by now it should be clear to them that the problem we're facing with the devaluation of our naira is not much of a crypto related issue.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jose Mourinho Next Job (Season 2024/2025) on: May 29, 2024, 04:41:48 AM
Money is certainly not a problem for any clubs from Saudi Arabia to get Mou but I doubt Fenerbache willing to spend a lot of money just to get Mou.
However, even if they offer a big contract - I dont think he will take it, Mou is an ambitious person and Im sure he is still awaiting an offer from big clubs in Europe or National teams.
It looks like he wont refuse if Newcastle or Chelsea make an offer to him.
Chelsea's plan is to get a much younger coach and if that's the case, then mou is definitely out of the equation. I feel that he has done his part as a sports person and should be thinking on slowing down or going to a much more less competitive leagues since it's obvious most of his tactics isn't favourable at this phase.

Saudi pro league for me Is a perfect option to consider. Joining the Saudi pro league will add some top up to his manageral pay and  since the kind of football that's played at Saudi pro league isn't as organized as what you have in the EPL, lailga and bundesliga, it's going to be to his advantage that his tactics would be useful at that place. And again, almost all the big names that are approaching thier retirement are all going to the Saudi league which has gone a long way to making it a popukar league accross tye globe. He should just go there and leave our Chelsea alone.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do if you are loged out from your Sportsbet app after wining? on: May 29, 2024, 04:33:05 AM
I don't know if such thread has been created already but there was a news that was trending some weeks ago about a man who won #14million Naira which is equivalent to $10k and was logged out of his sport bet account, he tried severally to access his money but didn't Work out. he sent the Sport betting site a message but didn't get a positive feedback so he had to come out publicly to explain his predicament on air. Below is the link Man logged out of his Sportybet account seeks access to his N14m
this is not an issue at all. As long as the betting site hasn't closed down and isn't anonymous, legal action can be taken against them and they will be forced to pay back the money. You know some of the local betting platform would try to outsmart you when you've won a huge sum of money and try shutting you out. It's a very bad act that should be discouraged in it entirety. I know they might be working on framing shit that will suggest that the gambler didn't win such amount of money or stuff like that but since the slip is available and other possible evidence that's in the possession of the gambler , it's easy to bring a solid case against them. And I know that some human right firms would only want to jumpt into this case sinces it has gone public.

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
honestly, this is this first time time I'm hearing that such thing as this is possible. The regular one I know of with most sports betting shops is that after you've won and you come back to take your money, if the money is too big, some of these sports betting shops would intentionally close thier shops for the for reasons best known to you. The best betting channel is that which allows you to do your bet at the comfort of your home, endure your losses when it happens and also enjoy your win without a third party even getting to hear about it.
31  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Have you seen where Bitcoin is used to make donations in fundraising? on: May 28, 2024, 06:55:13 PM

One of the major reasons as far as I'm concerned why people don't make donations in Bitcoin, is because they hodl it for investment, rather than using it for payments, also because many businesses don't accept it yet. Another reason is that I think most Bitcoin, holders don't want others to know that they hodl it

you can't make donation in Bitcoin in a fund raising event where you're not sure if the people that are in the place are conversant with Bitcoin. If you're following up on what's going happening on social media, you will know that some people don't even kno what on Bitcoin is. If your for instance tell some people that you're donating 0.002 Bitcoin, some would take you as a jocker without knowing that you've made a good donation.

What's necessary to know before thinking on making your donation with Bitcoin or fist is to first of all try to know the kind of people that are in that seeting. If you have Bitcoin enthusiast as majority of people that are in such event, then it's reasonable to talk abiut uding Bitcoin fur duch donation otherwise, its not necessarily. When it comes to spending, fiat ys mostly the preferable option.
32  Economy / Speculation / What happens when the big Bitcoin whales stops buying? on: May 27, 2024, 10:49:16 AM
Buys and sells of bitcoin plays a great role in ascertaining how bullish or how bearish Bitcoin is and when the big whales buys Bitcoin, it lends an assured sense of legitimacy to Bitcoin, provides liquidity to the market and  goes a long way to improve the overall market sentiment which will go on to influence bitcoins price positively.

The question is, what happens when they stop buying?  It's possible these big whales might at some point reach there limits or for some reasons they might stop buying and just decide to keep holding or maybe sell there bitcoin at the point. what's going to be the fate of Bitcoin in that instance?
33  Economy / Economics / Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 10:11:37 AM
One of the major problem an average person that has an incredible business idea faces is the ability to raise the initial capital that's required to bring his ideas to life. and in solving this challenge, the available option has always ranged from iether taking a loan from a financial institution or seeking for investors that will take a particular percentage of the company and will in return provide the necessary financial support.

Considering these two options that's one of the easiest to get, taking a loan sometimes comes with a whole lot of strict terms and conditions and  with the high interest rate expecially in my region, it's even deficult to put that as an option. Looking at the case with most investors who are just looking for ways to double there already dormant funds, and care little about the owner of the business, it seems to be another problem dealing with them as most of the ratio they intend getting from you seems to be too big expecially when they already know that your proposed business have an higher chance of doing well in the long run.

I know that as a start-up, these sources could potentially help your business to upscale at a very sharp pace and that from the angle of allowing an investor to buy into your business, you could get other added advantage like getting advice and connection that will help boost your business but I'm just curious to ask;

If you have a well thought out business idea but don't have the needed capital to keep it functional, is getting a loan the best option or looking for interested investors?

Would trying to start up the business in your own little way the best option or can you consider bringing a third party into the business who will just serve as a partner that contributes just money?
34  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The Tapswap addiction of youths today, will their expectations be met? on: May 27, 2024, 08:52:05 AM
Since the announcement of Tapswap, there has been addiction of youths to their phones, trying to mine as much coin as they can before 30th of may which is the proposed date of their launching. Tapswap is a decentralized exchange on the Solana block chain and every one, especially youths, are trying to take advantage of it but the issue is, will Tapswap be able to meet the expectations of its miners coming may 30th?  Undecided
do you consider people that are looking  for genuine money through airdrop as addict? What's your definition of addiction? Just so you know, airdrop has been ongoing for years back and a lot of people have benefited from mining it in the past and this is no different. I know that this made the headlines because of the large number of active participants it has managed to attract but that doesn't mean that participant are addict.

If you've ever done a promotion for a company that allows you to work for a period of one months after which your service would no longer be needed and that how much you're paid for doing the promotion is dependent on the number of active engagement you're able to do within the months, if you're going to be sincere with yourself you will know that nothing else will make any sense to you outside of getting the best out of the month.  All the miners have just this month to mine as much as they are able to after which they have to pay if they are going to get the tap swap token, what do you expect them to do? It's not addiction but it's rather called hustling and even if it didn't pay them as they might have expected, remember they didn't pay a dime to mine the stuff so regardless of the outcome, they didn't loose anything to be honest.
35  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto farmers on: May 26, 2024, 04:35:17 PM
I say make I bring this one to our notice. Recently, Naija and other African countries don dey recognise as the world largest crypto farmers. So tay e affect many of our business men and women for society. With the way things dey go so no body for our country wan dull am again, about 70% of the youths don dey farm sites like tapswap, hamster combat, yes coin etc
at least 80% of the youth that recently become too interested in mining only joined the train because of the recent notecoin gain and would go out of the system if tap swap and some of these recent airdrops didn't do so well. The real people that are really into crypto will continue to stay even after these hypes about airdrops.

Being a crypto peron doesn't mean that you can't go into real farming or that you can't consider other sectors that can still fetch reasonable ton of money. I still know that there are lots of people on this forum that are actively trading and are still in an active signature campaign but refuse to allow these things to hinder them from gaining from other bouyant sectors of our economy. Most airdrops allows you to use some bots that do the mining for you while you just come to occasionally claim them. They are not excuses to not facing other sector if you do please. Let's understand that some of our youths always allow themselves to get caught up in ponzi schemes and that's why they just jumped into tapswap without necessarily knowing how it works.

While you're doing your normal crypto mining, I don't think it's right to look at it as a source of your livelihood. In addition to it, you've got get yourself involved in other real sectors like the agricultural sector, the engineering, medicine and other viable sector that will help us grow as a nation.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 26, 2024, 03:52:14 PM

Real Madrid's draw against Real Betis was quite disappointing. Because the match took place at the Santiago Bernebeu. I hope Real Madrid continues to win when this team has to make beautiful history for Toni Kroos who will soon leave and retire. But even though Real Madrid did not perform optimally in the match against Real Betis, I still feel confident that in the UCL Final we will see Real Madrid's performance better. Because there is no way Real Madrid will waste the final match. And this team must give Toni Kroos the best farewell by winning the UCL this season.

Actually, the draw result was quite disappointing for bettors because I'm sure many people bet that Madrid would win. Real Madrid seems to be trying to save their energy for the Champions League final. I saw Madrid playing without any intensity. Real Madrid did not have any motivation to win that match. A win could give Kroos the best send-off but I think a draw wouldn't be so bad either. Unless Madrid suffer defeat then it will be a disappointing farewell for Kroos. Kroos has one more match, namely the Champions League final. I think Kroos will create his best farewell by winning the Champions league.
the best thing all real Madrid players would give to Kross as he playes his last match with the team on the first of next month is to ensure they win the champions league. I must say that there performance was far below expectation and like you've rightly said, it would have been a  great fair well for tony Kross if they won the last match as it's obviously the last time Kross would be playing in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in front of the home crowed who has cheered him all year Long.

The match ended and it never happened and I must give maximum respect to the real betis team that played real Madrid as though they are the better team. That's the thing that you should expect when you're playing an underdog. They know that technically, they've got nothing serious to loose should the match go against there favour and so they would normally want to give it thier all and ensure that the spoil your day and secure at least a draw from you. It's understandable that real Madrid wouldn't want to be aggressive with them as they wouldn't want any player to get injured before the big game that's coming up in the champions league finals and I guess that's why they were very reluctant in how high they are pressing in the attack but you can't talk about that matches without giving due regard to Jude Bellingham and camavingar that were almost everywhere on the pitch. Bellingham always ready to do all the dirty work while still being conscious of his attacking role.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 26, 2024, 03:17:49 PM
You don't expect a manager that's led a different teams to the UEFA Champions League Final on six different occasions to underestimate the strength of his opponents in the final of the competition. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti already knows what Borussia Dortmund can do if they get any chance and would definitely not give them that chance. Borussia Dortmund didn't win any trophy this season so they're coming to that final with the hope of winning the trophy and Real Madrid players and manager fully understands that part. Real Madrid is simply the better team between the two teams and I expect them to beat their opponents in the final
Every manager has different tactics in playing their role on the field, especially in this final match. Every manager will definitely prepare a really mature strategy to beat his opponent. Edin Terzic will definitely be carefull can he might have read Carlo Anceloti's tactics just like Gasperini who can read Xabi Alonso's tactics so that he can beat an undefeated club, it could be Edin Terzic too, we can't underestimate underdog clubs because anything can happen, this is a big match and these clubs definitely want to do their best to create a satisfying ending.
you can't compare what happened between Atalanta and Bayern Leverkusen at the UEFA Europa League finals what's going to play out in tge champions league finals between real Madrid and Dortmund. Atalanta where the better teams with experience and energetic player and were involved in there games even before the encounter. Leverkusen unbeaten run didn't make them the better side at all and they were only lucky to have had no loss but lots of draw that they always manage to steal from thier opponents towards the end of the game. This is not same with what's going to happen in the real Madrid game against Dortmund in the champions league finals. Real Madrid is the better team In this case and is the favorite to winning the champions league. It's not just that statistics shows it so but from the angle of the individual player performance and to the quality of there coach and the fact that they are defending champions, its most likey that tgey will still win the champions league again.

My little concern is when I look at what played out yesterday at the FA cup finals between Manchester United and Manchester City were city lost to Manchester United, it's certainly going to boost the moral of the Dortmund team to assume that they can manage to pull something out of the match. Also, real Madrid drew there last match against a much weaker team and while fans might assume that they didn't want to take the match seriously, the Dortmunds team will want to take something out of the match cause if you critically analyse what led to real Madrid inability to scoring in Thier last match, you will notice that the team they played against played almost same pattern of football like real Madrid and were as attacking minded as real Madrid which kind of disorganized them. Dortmund is also good in terms of thier attacks and would most likely bring it on to it peak in the finals but real Madrid quality in terms of delivering all those true passes is the added advantage that will be of the greatest help they will have to rely on in the all important champions league finals.

I'm finding it hard to believe this story because the person in question has worked with different start-up crypto projects, and he knows the risks involved and how scammers are looking for someone to deceive. The number one rule in telegram is not to believe anyone who messages you first, claiming he is the admin of a crypto telegram group or a team member of a crypto project. That one alone is a red flag because they just want to sweet talk you and scam you with your hard-earned money. Your friend would have quickly rushed to the telegram group of the said start-up crypto project to know if what they told him was true or check their official X account to see if there was any ongoing token sale, but he chose to send $18k without DYOR.
if you've not had experience with these scammers you would assume that anyone that falls victim to thier tactics isn't wise at all. I once thought that it's impossible for these local scammers that calls you to send your bank details to them that they want to rectify a challenge you're facing in the bank to convince me to sendy details. When it finally happened, it was after I had sent them by BVN and all my banks details that I realized myself. When it comes to getting involved with dubious people, ray never to get involved with them cause you can't tell what the outcome will look like.

Like he rightly said, the scammers took the man's image from there handle and where able to manipulate it such that it appears as though he was talking to the main person. In this kind of instance, it's actually deficult for you to dictate if you're talking to the real person or not expecially when you're desperate to seal the dea. Some scammers use a combination of technological means and spiritual means to catch there victim and that's possibly what played out in this case.

I will repeat it again, when it comes to dealing with criminals, you can't be too careful with them. You just pray you don't get entangled with them or else you discover that you aren't all that smart after all.
39  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Adopting Bitcoin as a global payment method. on: May 26, 2024, 01:43:01 PM
Due to some unfavourable banking experience some persons are embracing crypto currencies like Bitcoin as a alternative payment method
Bitcoin is not alternative to the already existing payment medium but rather a complement to it in some context.  Even though we understand the limitations that's popular with the fiat and general banking systems, let's not forget that we still need them for simple and straight forward transactions. Considering bitcoins worth, using it to buy simple stuff like recharge card or subscribing your phone isn't possible at the moment unless you convert into back to fiat. For it help in easing international transportation, it could serve as a substitute to the fiat and general banking system in that context but when we bring it back to using it for local transaction, it becomes a disadvantage to Bitcoin.

these central bank digital currencies will change the whole concept of global financing as more users and accurate, reliable and effective digital banking experience Wil be seen worldwide.
CBDC is still going to be regulated by the government and that makes it totally centralized and not different from the general banking system. The concept is just to create a digital currency that's going to be regulated by the government as a replacement to Bitcoin that's 💯 decentralized. So as to shift people's attention from Bitcoin to it but you know that for the case of Nigeria, it only get popular at the time it newly came out but no one is talking about it at the moment and the society is living comfortably without it as though it never existed. With the use of Opay and and all these micro finance we have at our fingertips, CBDC had to possibility of gaining popularity over the banking and mobile banking systems not to talk of the being a threat yo Bitcoin or the crypto ecosystem in general.

I won't leave out the challenges facing this system, which includes

1. The users must be protected from online fraud cyber theft, which can lead to loosing his or her digital assets.
this is not just peculiar to Bitcoin but affects even the banking systems. As long as the financial sector is concerned, cases of theft, hacks  and fraid is always going to be part of the system. It's only left for the user to decide to be safety conscious and be intentional about putting the necessary safety measures in places to ensure that his funds are safe.
2. It might add to the recent employment rate we have, as many bankers and bank staffs will loose their jobs
if what you're trying to say is that Bitcoin adoption will increase the rate of unemployment, the you're being one sided here. Even now that Bitcoin hasn't gotten an open acceptance by our country, do you know the number of People that are currently making a living through the system? If you allow any technology that's coming up at the moment to take your job from you, it only goes to show that you're not ready to be responsible for your job security. Fin tech came in and it's almost as though all Nigeria have shifted into the use of fin tech but band are still functional till date. The worls is global and accommodates everyone that's innovative enough to move with the trend in the technological sector.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin reach another new ATH before the bull run begins? on: May 25, 2024, 06:05:00 PM
some long and short term hodlers took profits from their investment when the new ATH was created. Now, some investors who didn't take out profits when the ATH was created are waiting anxiously to see another new ATH this year before the bull run begins so that they can utilize the opportunity.
I don't think that it's true that people generally take profit from there stacked bitcoin just because Bitcoin hit a new ATH. Regardless of wether you're a short term or long term investor, your concern isn't just about Bitcoin getting to a new ATH and that we have a new ATH doesn't necessarily mean that you should take your profit or sell off your holding. The difference between the recent ATH that we just had not long ago and the current Bitcoin price of $69k is just $4k which means that if someone had stacked his Bitcoin to the point he would have probably dimed fit to take his profit, it wouldn't be out of place if the fellow took his profit at the time when Bitcoin was at an ATH of $73k or now that it's at $69k. What I'm saying in essence is that the criteria for taking your investment profit isn't just that we have a new ATH or not, as long as you continue HODling your Bitcoin, you will be see several ATH in the future and will be in a very comfortable point that would tempt you to sell off your holding but you've got to know that what's more important about Bitcoin investments is that you have a good amount of Bitcoin such that even if Bitcoin doesn't climb to high in terms of its volatility, the least amount of percentage difference that's added to the price of Bitcoin during your accumilation phase would put you in a good profit region.

Is it really necessary to be anxious for a new ATH to be created or just keep hodling and discard whether a new ATH happens or not?
understand that Bitcoin is iether becoming more bullish or getting more bearish as time progresses. While the bullish period is the best time to consider taking profit, the bearish seasons aren't a bad time. Bearish season are corrections that allows you to buy Bitcoin at a cheaper rate so rather than becoming anxious that it's taken time before bitcoin breaks a new ATH, wouldn't it be nice to use those bearish season to stack as much Bitcoin as your capacity is able to carry? It's actually called Buying during the DIP.  whike you anticipate a bull, don't fall to make the best out of the DIP.

Remember that the rate of profitability  of the bull is dependent on how best you made you of the bearish season. If you stacked little Bitcoin during the bearish seasons and only spent your time being anxious of the price of Bitcoin, when it gets bullish you wouldn't have enough Bitcoin should there be a reason to sell at all.

And is it also a good practice to be taking out profits from your Bitcoin investment each time a new ATH is achieved?
and how much bitcoin would you have left after taking the profit the third time and then it goes further to a much higher ATH? You can't always take your profit out because Bitcoin has a new ATH, it's unnecessary and tells of how short termed you're with your investment.
