Yup, I also detect it as a virus, and it crashed my server when I run it on a VM

Have you ever considered actually opening a true wallet service?

Yeah. I actually have all the pieces that could make a really kick-ass wallet service (at least if you care about fees and on-chain privacy). The main problem is just that I'm really constrained for time. I'm already pretty delayed for bustabitv2 (I really wanted it out 6 months ago), no small part because of side-tracking with stuff like integrating a constraint-solver for handling withdrawals in a privacy/fee maximizing way Smiley

But if after the bustabitv2 launch everything is going smooth, I might split out the code to make a special wallet service =)

You need to hire an assistant haha, or a team

Hi Ryan,

could you please think about (at least temporarily) lowering the withdrawal fee ? In the last days, BTC fee level has been clearly decreased, so I think that 700bits is unnecesarily high fee now. I guess lowering into ~ 400bits would be more than enough. Thanks.

Sorry about that, yeah it definitely should be lower. I made the mistake of hard-coding that value into the configuration file, with the only way of changing it reset the web-server. Which wouldn't be so bad, except I also made the mistake of storing mutes in memory  Angry

So I've dropped the withdrawal fee now, but it won't kick in until I reset the webserver (when ever that is).

Fortunately in the next release (which is getting very close!) both of those issues are fixed, and withdrawals are going to be way cheaper. Like crazy cheap (thanks to me spending over a month optimizing coin selection and partial batching and what not Tongue).

Have you ever considered actually opening a true wallet service?

28  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: August 29, 2017, 09:21:42 PM
Gold is a good commodity. Yes, everyone wants gold and because of its scarcity (gold is rare) and authenticity (you can’t recreate a gold block). So this causes the price to increase gradually or remain stable. Bitcoin can be related to gold in the long-term, but in the short-term, Bitcoin can be very volatile. I have used this example of its volatility a few time now. If you look at the price graph for Bitcoin, you will notice that Bitcoin price dipped immensely in the space of 2 hours. So in the short-term, any cryptocurrency will be volatile. But the next day, Bitcoin price was back up. So if you want a good investment strategy, all that you literally have to do is buy some Bitcoin. Leave it in cold storage or in a wallet. Forget about it for a while. After your desired period of time come back to the Bitcoin and check the price of Bitcoin. The price (in fiat) should have increased.

Congrats to killyou72

Please send 0.1BTC to minerjones ( 1HEGfPYW6MEvv6T2YXrN9vPqJiq4kiZoF )
with this public note: "7/30/2016 00:00:00 GMT Donation to minerjones" (this is to verify the TX)

Then PM me with the shipping details Wink

Hi, no horse in this game, but I don't think you should require people to put "notes" on tx's as that only works if your using something like blockchain.info or whatever web wallet service it is etc.

For example, I can't do that with my trezor, or probably even mycelium on android etc etc.

thanks!

Edit - If you really need true proof, ask for a signed message from the sending btc address. That most can always do!  Cool

A signed message would work too!

Would be nice to see at least 1BTC bid here for minerjone's family.
If you want to see a 1BTC bid, the fastest way is to place one yourself Smiley

True, but unfortunately I don't own that much at the moment.
But maybe the big players will get in.

Hi guys!

Indeed I told Anduck that I would pay as soon as more spots are filled.
That week I was out of town and didn't have acces to my wallet, so I wasn't able to pay on time.

Seems my ticket wasn't invalidated, even if I didn't paid, and the raffle begun, forcing me to pay.
This didn't seemed fair to me...
Most of the raffle owners, invalidated someone's bid if he didn't paid on time.

Anyhow, I will pay 0.03 to Anduck just to solve this dispute, but still, this doesn't feel right for me.

Anduck: Please post here a payment address and will pay in max 24h.

Paid: https://blockchain.info/tx/4bccd26927b2ae566d0a54cac7f83a5330956531543df6a4cf8f9ea9e54b5248

I've not sent you a payment address. You sent money to someone else.
Did he send to the raffle address?

Thanks! Indeed, he sent to the raffle address.

I took the liberty to send to the raffle address, I hope that is not a problem.
Also I hope we can do better business in the future.
