Thanks for the bullish news my old dear friend, BitcoinNewsMagazine.

But I'm somehow confident that in a decade we will be $1MM+, not at $1xx,xxx  Wink

I am not exactly sure what "hash rate" is, even after being explained to me several times, but I do know it is fundamental to the activity of Bitcoin.

Be that as it may, this graph was posted late May on this thread, and it showed then that the hash rate at that time had DOUBLED since Jan 2018.
https://www.blockchain.com/charts/hash-rate?timespan=2years

Well, an update shows a continued increase far beyond that, with at least as fast of an increase.

-As I said before, the spring seems to be winding VERY tight.....

HODL!

I hope this helps you my dear brother : https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinBeginners/comments/4v1oxs/eli5_what_is_a_hash_rate_and_how_does_it_affect/

Nice down here, bull + bulls + bullss = a right place to watch as a bitcoiner  Grin

The castle of the bulls over here our bull brother Wink

Lots of really nice stories coming in through here but we haven't seen much of a reaction yet in the price. What's going on? Why is bitcoin still slumping, even after all of that positivity?

You'd think that people would be rushing out to buy it with these kinds of events. Are they just not that exciting anymore, that people don't take them seriously? I know the EFT news is getting a little bit old, but these kinds of events about the NYSE and Starbucks are really something. Those are major signals towards the advancement of the coin and more widespread use.

There have been so many bullish news about bitcoin recently and more upcoming but prices are still declining which is very disappointing to see, personally i cannot wait to see btc going parabolic like it did last year and i hope this year the peak will be double the size we seen last year.

In simple words, price manipulation.

You Just cannot simply put everything around BTC (whats bullish news...) and reflect iT only in price.... its all happening but iT all takes time as well....

Well said, like the springboard, coiling and coiling till the moment of the takeoff.

yes and with all the good news it would be nice to see an instant BULL run but it just needs time so very good for us LONG TERM BULLS thatwe are patient
offcourse its normal that many daytraders As those just for quick money are getting rekt from time to time but yeah thats the case in everything there will always be those that get burned

Patience will always reward you Smiley

I'm willing to sit down and lock down my bitcoins until the ivory towers that those white golf shoe wearing dirtbag bankers fester in come crumbling down among them. They can sit and take as many short positions as they want on bitcoin but it's still not going to stop it. There's enough reason for it to get rolling again.

People are getting sick and tired of getting raped by central bankers so they will learn to make the change soon. They know that bitcoin exists, they just need to recognize that they can trust it.

There is a saying that I trust like I trust myself, "Nothing lasts forever". The current financial system will be replaced with bitcoin-based one.

^
yeah i also see it succeed in the long term, everybody knew its gonna be a bumpy road and big waves to sail uppon ,but just let us hope that enough of the right people can the advantage of BTC and  the succeses of BTC cause currently many dumb F**** are taking very wrong decissions by not to hodl there coins

Everyone is responsible for his own decisions, we as a community try to make the 'weak' hand a 'strong' hand but at the end of day you are the one who will choose what kind of hand you want to be.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Problem with Importing a private key on: August 07, 2018, 10:09:37 PM
Now when I import the key again, it gives me 'null'.
when importing private key, it returns null on success

So I want to somehow like 'roll-back' what I did and to let the wallet re-scan the private key again.
you can do importprivkey "yourprivatekey" "" true
second parameter is empty string to assign address to default account
third parameter is true to rescan local blockchain, but if the address already exist in the wallet this won't work
so in your case, you can do that only by restarting wallet with -rescan command-line argument

Much appreciated Thirdspace, thank you.

Foruntatly, I had a backup of the VM where the fork blockchain and client were laying there, so I worked on the backup and everything is solved now.

Again, thank you so much Smiley
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Problem with Importing a private key on: August 07, 2018, 02:41:55 AM
Hello,

Now I think I made a silly but yet, expensive, mistake while importing a private key.

It's regarding the BCX fork where their clients are Qt clients like the ones of Bitcoin Core.

At first the wallet was scanning the key (was still at 1%) and then I forced close it via the task manager as I wanted to see the balance being updated in real time as the debug window was covering the main wallet window.

Now when I import the key again, it gives me 'null'.

What made me sure there is something wrong is that the fork took place the at the block height 498888 and I had funds in BTC which I then moved to another wallet at block height 502226.

So I want to somehow like 'roll-back' what I did and to let the wallet re-scan the private key again.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely yours,
Fak

Is that why the mempool is creeping higher now?

Hopefully, it’s about time we exploded upwards. It’s been a sea or red for too long now.

Think of owning Bitcoin like riding a bucking bronco.  It really can be the emotional equivelant if you watch the price every day.

And like riding that bronco you only lose if you fall off, sell off, let go...

Hang on tight, wait for the eight second horn and it will be awesome, and you just may win,

- but know that it's going to be a wild ride!

Well said Bitmore, it's the same as a tweet I've read earlier where a some bullish guy said that Bitcoin is 'hard-coded' to pump. it's in it's nature.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-07-16/cfa-exam-adds-crypto-blockchain-topics-as-wall-street-dives-in

"CFA Institute, whose grueling three-level program has helped train more than 150,000 financial professionals, is adding topics on cryptocurrencies and blockchain to its Level I and II curriculums for the first time next year. "

“We saw the field advancing more quickly than other fields and we also saw it as more durable,” said Stephen Horan, managing director for general education and curriculum at CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia. “This is not a passing fad.”

There's the type of progress you're looking for, not cockrings.com adding Doge payments. Everything of this nature is a block being hammered into the foundations.

Can't agree more Gentlemand, the flood gates will open so loose for the institutional investors so soon.

On a side note, so happy to see my long term friends, Wekkel and LFC_Bitcoin here, thank you all guys Smiley

38  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / How to sync the Bitcoin Core wallet where I've moved the 'blockchain' folder on: June 23, 2018, 12:50:15 AM
Hey all,

So, I've Bitcoin Core 0.14.2 on my SSD single partition and everything was working well.

Now the capacity of SSD can't handle the blockchain anymore and I've a backup of the complete 'blocks', 'chainstate' ..... etc. folders and files on my other connected HDD.

Since I've more free space now on my HDD, I want to program the Bitcoin Core wallet to continue syncing the blockchain from the backup till I reach the recent blocks.

How can I do that ?

Thanks in advance  Smiley

The Journey has only just started....

And it will end in such a way we've never thought about before.

I hope all of you fuckers with spare fiat kicking around are falling over yourselves to buy right now...

Well said, there are chances that come only ONCE IN A LIFETIME.

I hope all of you fuckers with spare fiat kicking around are falling over yourselves to buy right now...

Definitely & if this gets any lower I’m going to use a damn credit card to seriously load up.

They say not to take debt out to invest, but I have thought the same thing.

I have made over 10X my investment in BTC, at today's prices...

WHERE I THINK THIS IS GOING, AS VOLITILE AS ITWILL BE....

I am HODL.

Our thread is full with REAL HODLERS & BELIEVERS.

Jack Dorsey's Square is the 9th joint to get a Bitlicense in New York. Considering the expense and the grind that's a nice endorsement.

The next bull run will be uber-epic.
