21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NEOS]Neoscoin Unique Anon(Arbitrush) Multi-Algo/Multi Exchange Web Wallet! on: September 06, 2014, 04:11:17 PM
mint pal just posted their requirements to be listed on their exchange and one of them is the coin has to be at least 28 days old then the development team needs to request a review and that takes 7 days and then another 7 days to be listed if it meets requirements ...

so we have a little issue... there one way around this, we can pay a 5 btc fee to be reviewed and listed within 24hrs... I'm thinking this would be a 5 btc well spent, maybe we can raise it in donations from the community and two turtle can help out maybe ?

what do you guys think, I'm going to bed but just throwing that out there...

also syntaks, what are your thoughts on the superNET , sounds extremely interesting, maybe we should consider joining and being a part of that considering it changes nothing for neos core properties. just another thought , if any one wants to know what super net is look into it, there will be at least 100 coins using supernet, and neos has a unique anon feature that I'm sure super net would love to have aboard..

what are your thoughts?

5 BTC!? Really? Wow! Is this idiot tax, or what? Considering they make a profit on every trade, they should be chasing and paying developers, not the other way around. This looks like an insult to the developer and the community. Personally, I will not take part in any crowd funding for Neos listing on any crypto trading site. Not now, not ever. It seems these “elitists” developed a rash and phobia to new coins, especially the ones that are capable of delivering innovation. I think their brain-fog is caused by their Bitcoin bloated guts. I have seen this behavior in too many businesses to recognize the self-destructive patterns of a “selective” salesman. Good luck Mintpal! You are going to need it!

I am launching an open invitation to any veteran programmers and website designers. I will be giving 121 stones of rough Tanzanite, with a total of 770 carats, worth roughly 300-500$ to anyone that can deliver a crypto currency (BTC and NEOS) website for gemstone trading and would like to partner with me in a lucrative future venture. If interested, please P.M. me.

Someone should sell to those desperate traders. I think 5 Neos bid would serve justice to the current begging, Thanks! Smiley
Under the transaction limit. dammit!

I’m referring at the traders taking a go on the market price, where thanks means 10x.
Which means 10 times fold their investment.
Sorry for being so cryptic, I thought this as a crypto forum Smiley

Disagree. Genuine interest by the same people that brought you here in the first place. This will not stop until at least they can say thanks.

It seems like a determined man got to read our posts and finally convinced himself of Neos working anon. God bless you Moby, you now give back the expression 10x it's true meaning!

Prices for casino software that can be tailored for your needs range from 2000 USD(romanian firm that sells casino gambling games with modest graphics but good maths), to a couple of millions USD for large poker sites like pokerstars, which today has an estimated value of more than 5 billion dollars. Yes that is correct, the raking alone brings pokerstars about 1,4 billion every year in revenue. I, myself, consider the betting business a hell of a market that can be tapped into with brilliant ideas.

Good point. I suppose when it's done in the work place it's done very low-key. Putting it online crosses that licensing line. What if you went down the Nintendo Tecmo Bowl route and dropped names, and just used dallas v. San Francisco or is that grey area too?

If it was in big enough demand I'm sure we could retain the appropriate lawyer and figure out all of the details, but for gaming licenses, even online with cryptos I'm sure it's all gray.  I typed that and as I'm doing so thought to myself, if I'm betting Neos for Neos, I don't see why it'd be an issue.  With that being said, we're going to have some real fun in the near future. =)

     Best regards,

syntaks

Thanks for the update, that's really awesome!!!

In case you did not know, Minerals coin had an interesting and mostly working betting service based on e-sports, particularly on Star Craft 2. They made their own website with a betting platform that streamed live Starcraft games from twitch.tv. I was a big supporter but then the whole project was left to die because the developers couldn’t find a way to implement anon (what the masses desired for the price of Minerals to be competitive). It’s a good thing we can learn from other’s failure and that Neos already realized anon. Good things are sure to come!

Hello, I’m a great supporter of both BTCD and NEOS projects with the outmost respect for the developers work. If the question has been raised for the community to have a go at what they wish to see in the future of crypto, I thought I should try as well to publicly project my desires. When you tear me apart, please consider that I lack software knowledge and am not a native English speaker.

Belibeli,

     Let me put your mind at ease - your English is just fine firstly.  Secondly, there will be no tearing apart done by me or anyone in my community.  You've raised some valid, and very good points as well as features.  Once v2 is released, I'll begin looking into how we might proceed with some sort of approach for possible integration.  I will keep everyone posted at such a time so that they'll be aware.  Thank you very much for your support, we appreciate it greatly.

     Best regards,

syntaks

 Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind words and promptitude they were delivered with.  After few crypto ventures that didn’t fruit, my hope glands were unexcited and my skepticism was set to high. I am grateful for giving me something to believe in while on the internet and I take a moment to wish you the very best of luck with your shared project.

@ ereborltc
I think of it as fear, uncertainty and doubt because types of analysis like these that focus on the death factor are common to insurance salesmen and are meant to give a negative context to your surroundings, so that the insurance company can justify the policy, and I, as a risk assessor, can justify my work and salary. Although a risk assessment is crucial for the definition and prevention of some future negative behaviors of the environment and its user, in reality, from my experience, there is also the chance (destiny, faith) factor that is not part of any accepted theory in the scientific community.

For example, I wrote a risk assessment for the teachers of an elementary school in a small village of a country unknown. I examined the area carefully, tried to think of surrounding dangers and the nature of their work as best as I could possibly imagine. I thought of risks ranging from lice (due to the children’s hygiene) to stabbing (due to the poor nature of the village and alcoholism being frequent within the population/parents).

One day there was a flood at the third floor of the school. This was left unchecked and the damages made to the ceiling were not repaired. A year later, on ground floor, during a normal class a professor gets his 1-3 cervical vertebras crushed by a piece of the ceiling falling on the back of his neck. This was called a work-related accident. Could I have predicted that?

Working in this area for so long I have about another dozen examples like this where actual math purely cannot calculate the magnitude of the butterfly effect and the unfathomable consequences of one’s actions.
What can be done though, by humans and computers alike is to analyze what has happened and try to prevent the same negative behavior from happening in the future.

If the question has been raised for the community to have a go at what they wish to see in the future of crypto, I thought I should try as well to publicly project my desires. When you tear me apart, please consider that I lack software knowledge and am not a native English speaker.

This is what I would like to see in version 5.0 of the wallet:

A universal trading platform

- A craigslist type of market integrated into the wallet where you can post and buy services or goods from other users

- Linkage to non-crypto trading (shares, commodities, etc.)

- Crypto news section

- Voting option

- Financial estimates and projections on both crypto and non-crypto markets. A financial risk assessor can provide an algorithm on how you can do that. I have been a Health and Safety consultant and risk assessor for 8 years now, and each time I make a job assessment, I use the weighted average (If that that is the correct term) between the degree of gravity and the possibility of it happening.
Risk assessment in my field involves identifying all risk factors analyzed in the system and quantify their size based on the combination of two parameters: the maximum gravity of the possible consequence and frequency on the human body. This gives partial risk levels for each risk factor or risk levels globally for the entire system analyzed.

In specialized terminology, human security in the work process is considered as the state of the system where work injury and occupational disease are ruled out.
In common language, security is defined as being a shelter from danger, and risk - the opportunity to get into danger, potential danger. If we consider the usual meanings of these terms, we can define the status of job security as the risk of injury and illness as zero.
Therefore, safety and risk are two abstract concepts otherwise mutually exclusive.

In fact, because of the features of any system of work we cannot achieve this state of absolute nature. There is no system that is completely ruled out the potential danger of injury or illness; there is always a "residual" risk, if only because of the unpredictability of human action. Unless corrective interventions are ongoing, this residual risk increases as the work system elements degrades through "aging".
Consequently, the systems can be characterized by "security levels" and "risk levels" as quantitative indicators of security status or risk. Defining security risk as a function y = f (x), where we can say that a system will be more secure, the risk will be lower and vice versa. Thus, if the risk is zero, from the relationship between the two variables results that security tends to infinity, and if the risk tends to infinity, security tends to zero.

If you are already asleep reading through my definitions, please let me explain how this works in layman’s terms:

Let’s say if I do the risk analysis for a programmer, I first get a good look of the working process he is involved in, split his work into 4 parts: Production means, work environment, performer and work load. For a brief example, this is how a work related risk assessment for a programmer looks like:
Identified risk factors:

A. Production means

a. the mechanical risk factors:
• puncture and / or body cutting tool used (needles, pins, cutter, stapler, etc.);
• falling on the slippery floor
• slipping and falling of the worker from his travel route from home to work

b. electric Risk Factors
• electric shock by direct contact - wire insulation degraded
• indirect contact with electricity - damage of grounding;

B. Working environment

a. the physical risk factors:
• temperature and humidity: high or low (failure or non-functioning heating system in the office);
• office drafts favored by opening doors and room leaks;
• radiation emitted by computer monitors

b. biological risk factors:
• bacteria, viruses in the work environment on the materials they are working;

C. Performer

a. wrong actions:
• misuse of IT equipment;
• Falling by slipping, tripping, unbalancing;
• Not using an ergonomic seat
• Incorrect positioning of the IT equipment operator;
• accidental spilling containers with liquids on office electronics and electrical installations

D. Work load

• physical overload: visual overload
• mental strain:
• intense work pace
• difficult decisions in a short time
• monotony of work;

I then assign these factors of risk that I have identified numbers from 1 to 7, both on gravity and frequency, considering that 1 means insignificant damage inflicted to the body and 7 means death.

I then take each risk’s weighted average and translate it in this formula:

http://imgur.com/7qcEumS

, where I have 18 identified risks
4 with the weighted average of 4
6 with the weighted average of 3
6 with the weighted average of 2
and 2 with the weighted average of 1.

And therefore we have as a result the number 3 as the overall weighted average for the risk of working as programmer. If I were to choose a career, this seems as a pretty good one, considering that a teller gets around 3.5, a construction worker around 4 or a miner gets around 5.5 on the 1 to 7 risk scale.

I think that if transposed properly and built into wallets, this type of analysis, or any other type of powerful real-time prognosis tools could take the crypto way beyond the proverbial moon, and if skilfully combined with an intuitive interface, could transform the wallet into your business partner and make trading of commodities, goods or services one click away for the non-technical user.

In the hopes I have not scared you with my FUD (due to the nature of my work) in choosing to continue your brilliant work as a programmer, I am extending an open invitation to all the community to exercise their imagination and express their wishes on what the future of crypto should be bringing. These guys are certainly here to deliver.

If you have read this far, I want to thank you for bearing my pseudo-science and wish good fortunes to you all!

Hello, I'm a science fiction writer that has a wife and a passion. I am also many other things.  A friend recommended this guy’s blog. I also think anon is awesome and I come not from fiverr. A part of me takes this in some sort of mockery and the other part really lives in a Verse where thoughts can be accomplished in the matter of a click. Only a risk assessor could confirm debilitating draws even everyday’s market, but we think it is idea like yours that treasure value. And when I say we, I mean me from the present as well as me from the future. Thank you jl777 for making the money teleportation concept come to life!

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS | Developing own anon solution | on: August 25, 2014, 09:31:02 AM
I am calling this a scam because of developers and PR lack of activity. A user suggested in an earlier post that they are online but don't post because they are afraid of scrutinization? What?!
It seems we are dealing here with either con-artists or children "wet behind the ears", to quote another brother that got burnt with the illusion of a coin developed for e-sports betting. The developers were clearly not able to write code for an automatic payout during the tournament and now we are expecting them to deliver anonymity via wishful thinking?

Decided to pull out and invest in BitcoinDark, the only coin that has a really smart coder which delivers all the time and is developing a mind blowing anon solution. Time will tell if that will turn out ok as an investment because right now I am really dissapointed with these shitty alt-coin scams. Have lost about 80% of my Bitcoins  on HiroCoin, Vericoin and now Minerals. When will I ever learn?

I am sorry if I offended any other holders with my remarks, this was not my intention. This coin has a great community that I truly enjoyed being a part of. My thoughts and disappointment are with the developers and ultimately me because I should have seen this coming following the developers’ incompetence during the tournament.
All the best to you all!

Hey guys,

I think betting & crypto is starting to heat up!

As usually, as there's only "reality" garbage on TV and the news only shows poverty, misery and suffering of innocents caused by sick psychopath politicians and banksters (Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Gaza, Islamic State, Mali,...) with corpses and bombs falling on everything, I try to look up more interesting and informative things on Youtube.

So I came across today's Keiser Report (but that's thx to Twitter) and the second part of the episode is about gambling and crypto currency and how the Isle of Man wants to be a trendsetter in that market.

You can watch it here (skip the first half if you don't like the topics Stacy brings up) >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0uF9lriRYY

And then, there was this documentary about South Korea. It gives a small hint on how big e-Sports is over there, just a short interview/comment. It starts around the 37th minute >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqb5DdMnbPA

I think that once the redesign and/or anon (whatever you guys decide Smiley) is done, it might be time to think about public relations and marketing.

I don't expect us to hire marketing professionals, but we might be able to come up with a nice information booklet or poster/flyer. A promo video? Maybe someone in here has a degree in computer science/design/user interfacing and can work on a proposition or mock-ups for easy to install and easy to use wallet? From what I saw on the chat during the invitational, quite a lot of people had issues with the installation, finding their addresses, the long time to sync and things like that. I can all be improved, so no one gives up on using Minerals (there was one like that on Monday in the chat). And yes, for some people installing something that's not coming out of an "App Store" is quite a challenge.

Any native Koreans here? They might want to translate the wallet and website (official and betting service) and attract South-Korean gamers? Don't aim for the stars, but get us known with the casual gamers. They'll spread the information about Minerals quick enough if it's easy to use and acquire.

Maybe someone knows Moolah personally on IRC? Negotiating for a fiat<->minerals slot, which could be included in the wallet using the API/QT's built-in web-engine)

I'm more than willing to help out with these thing, but I need lots of time for getting back up-to-date if not learn from scratch again first. I studied computer science, graduated in 2003 but never got a real IT job (lots of IT companies closing and massive layoffs) and went back to uni (Japanese/economics) and even now, do things complete unrelated to my studies (airline/finance).

Anyway... just tell me if I'm ranting or lost my connection to reality Cheesy
I don't think you are ranting. Translating the website is a very good idea, translating the wallet is an awesome one. Has it ever been done or all the crypto wallets are plain English? I can help with the translation in Romanian and Deutsch, maybe even Spanish. MineralsPR, do you think a Multilanguage installer is feasible?

Also, everybody, please don’t get down about the price, we have achieved a first in the crypto with the tournament, but this kind of effort needs to be sustained, not forgotten. What I’m saying is that we are on the right track, we just need to persevere in what we did first, meaning tournaments should be on a weekly basis. The price will follow, I assure you.

And about anonymity, you know it does not exist, right? True transaction anonymity is impossible as long as the transaction is completed between people with physical hard disk computers and the Internet as intermediary. The internet never forgets, nor does your hard drive. You cannot claim a transaction has never happened, but only pretend it never did. Masking a transaction does not make it anonymous, it just makes it harder for the scratcher to find it, do not be fooled by false claims.

Focusing on what you did good and trying to improve it should be your main priority, but by all means if the crowd has spoken please listen to them, give them the pseudoanonimity they have been raving about. No, really, pleasing the crowd will help you get your credibility and support in whatever you desire to do next with the coin. It’s like in Hollywood, Nolan makes a film for himself and then one for the studios.
