21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $600 during the first month of the new year? on: January 06, 2016, 01:39:02 AM
Looking at the trend in the past 10 days, I think it is going to be a quite month.
I will be happy if we come close to $500.  Smiley
22  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi Arabia executes 47 prisoners, including opposition Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr on: January 06, 2016, 01:16:35 AM
This is pure Democratic in action. Biggest USA partner in Middle East. Biggest USA ally. Seems they are cool with SA action.

That is true. If it weren't for US support, a lot of countries in the Middle East would have tried attacking Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia controls the holiest sites of Islam and other countries can't stand this.
23  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The space launchings aren't putting food on your table. on: January 06, 2016, 01:06:37 AM
The space launchings can be compared to the weapons race back in the 70's and 80's - the US wants to be the first, bu the Russians, Chinese and Indians wants to.

Nope, now countries have realized that quite a bit of money is being spent on these programs with no tangible benefits.
In the past, there was pride attached to space programs. Now countries have realized that it doesn't matter.

With another day getting washed out, those who bet on a draw in the WI-Australia match must be feeling happy.
They essentially bet on rain and got it right.  Smiley

Ok, I am gonna go with South Africa batting out a draw against England
This track has nothing in it for the bowlers, it is a road!

Yes, this test match is heading to draw. But draw itself a big achievement for South Africa to retain their No.1 test rank. Amla and ABD are batting with some dropped catches. I guess still 150+ odd runs are required to avoid follow on. Let us hope for any interesting out of this test match.

Even the AB De villers wicket has not changed anything big for England. I also guess pitch is more supportive for batting and we can not expect a result from this match. Any way England's lead will continue even after this match also.

This test looks like it is headed towards another dull draw.
Why don't we have more sporting wickets? I would support a pitch which provides a result in 3 days, compared to one which cant produce a result in 5.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stocks dropping like its hot on: January 04, 2016, 04:27:40 PM
China currently has a walnut bubble selling $32,000 "symmetrical walnuts" and $500,000 "racing pigeons".  Contrary to what noobs on the forum say, China hasn't even come close to initiating a Bitcoin bubble compared to all their other insane bubbles.  If China actually does get involved in Bitcoin, it's going very high because they will literally pump pocket lint.

The Chinese government has their own ways of ensuring a bitcoin bubble doesn't take root. They can change regulations and can even intervene directly if required.

All this is confusing for the oil traders.
Should we punt on an increase in prices based on middle east tension, or should we expect a fall in prices based on global/Chinese economic date?  Grin

Now don't get me wrong, I am NOT in favor of tax supported space exploration. I believe that a far less egregious use of the ill gotten gains of the taxman than starting and maintaining pointless wars with no end, but it's still attained by theft. But companies like SpaceX and Virgin Galactic? They're doing it right, monetarily. Selling the risk to those WILLING to invest, and developing viable strategies. I think a mars colonization project could be funded in that very manner, and I KNOW that it's a valuable exercise. Colonizing mars is NOT trivial, but it is well within our technological capabilities, and it is a far better platform for further exploration and exploitation of space, for multiple reasons. (I can go into those at length should anyone be interested, but in the interim I recommend the book "The Case for Mars" by Dr. Robert Zubrin. While I disagree with some of his plan, I don't disagree with much of it. It's a very good read.

I am in favour of private space launches as well.
I however think that the objective would be prospecting for rare earth metals, rather than space colonization.
29  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The space launchings aren't putting food on your table. on: January 03, 2016, 05:25:41 AM
We have to colonize space sooner or later.
We don't really have a choice if we want to survive.
Earth will be destroyed when the sun turns into a red giant.
And there are all kinds of other catastrophic events that could wipe out our civilization.

The sun is a medium aged star.
Humans have had their run on planet earth.
Evolution will get us faster than the sun turning into a red giant.

We're a very young species. Our run has barely begun, and we'll likely be the first off this rock. Yes, we will evolve faster than the sun will, but why restrict it to one planet or star system? Our successors will remember us this time, unlike all other species that we are aware of.

Hmm... Humans have been around in the current form for more than 2 million years.
So I wouldn't call our species young.
Plus we seem to be intent on destroying ourselves (and the planet).
With all the radiation we have unleashed, some mutation (and evolution) must already be taking root.

South Africa v England (2nd Test) this time my bet is going on England 1st Inns Runs 425 Runs or more @ 1.53.At the moment England's position is 162/2 and after winning last test match this team seems more solid again.

This test match is slowly turning in South Africa favor now. England are struggling right now with 5 wickets loss, they have scored 237 runs. I guess they will score another 100 runs with their remaining 5 wickets. Still, I find less chances for South Africa for winning.

How quickly things can change in cricket!
The current partnership is worth 94 and England look to be on top.
South Africa haven't managed to take a wicket after you last posted.  Wink
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: drop it like it's hot. on: January 03, 2016, 04:34:42 AM
Well its not drop it like its hot but its jumping like its duck.
The price is now increase this day and it will increase more day by day. The bitcoin price today is 440.4
Looks like its starting to increase above 440 i will wait for any changes soon..

$440?? It is still hovering around $430.
And looking at the graphs on coinmarketcap, this seems like a 7-week high.
32  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 3 killed in attack on India air base; all 5 attackers dead, official says on: January 03, 2016, 04:32:48 AM
Another effort made by jihadis to scuttle Indo-Pak talks.
Every time there is an effort made towards reconciliation, these terrorists carry out another attack.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the price for January 1, 2017 on: January 03, 2016, 04:29:44 AM
My prediction would be an All Time High.
We should be around $1300, with the market fully absorbing the reality of the block reward halving.  Smiley

35  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Facebook's free internet service has been shut down in Egypt on: January 02, 2016, 03:09:13 AM
If you really want to provide free basics do it.. Give everyone a limit of say 100 Mb per day and retrieve the cost via advertising. Its a win win situation for everyone, thats a fair and good proposal, but we all know thats not zuckerberg wants right?

Nobody is gonna oppose 100mb of unrestricted access. But how will you recover the cost through advertising?
The users may not visit facebook at all.
36  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Paris New Year: Fireworks Canceled, Moslem Car-Burnings Go Off Without a Hitch on: January 02, 2016, 02:56:46 AM
This happens every year? Then you would think the owners would be ready and watching and start shooting some of those idiots, That would probably bring it to and end.

This would definitely bring it to an end.
If you have some riots post this, the police should deal with it.
Vandals should be shown that their actions won't be tolerated.
37  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin: Western Civilization "going extinct" - low birth rates & PC on: January 02, 2016, 02:54:28 AM
The low birth rates might be tough to reverse, given the general change in society.
Political correctness can be wiped out quickly. All it takes is one event for the far right to obtain political relevance.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all know huobi volume is faked, but what is this??? on: January 02, 2016, 02:51:27 AM
Even with no trading fees that is some seriously big volume that is not easy to create.. If the spread is not high enough it is very difficult to trade with yourself wihtout catching other peoples coins.

If you have deep pockets, you can skim the other trades and do huge volumes of trades with yourself.
In the end, you won't lose much.
It is only when there are trading fees that you feel the pinch.
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: why people excited for halving block reward? on: January 02, 2016, 02:47:38 AM
If the price of bitcoin is expected to increase after the block reward halving, people will start buying it before hand.
This will cause the price to move up much before the halving.
How long before - nobody can say.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pump + Dump on: January 01, 2016, 06:52:30 AM
Bitcoin market it's still vulnerable to p&d schemes, of course manipulators will need deep pockets bit it's definitely possible and it still happens so your theory it's not crazy. Just think about how easy it is to manipulate the altcoin market, that's a smaller scale but it's the same game.

Altcoin markets are way too easy given the lack of liquidity.
Given Bitcoin's market cap, it is much more difficult. It will become much more difficult once bitcoin's price increases.
If it can happen in the equity markets, in spite of the regulation and relatively higher liquidity, it can happen in the crypto market.
