OK, I've deposited the money, check your wallet. My next bid is 83.

I have a question actually: do I have to make a deposit for my bid to be valid, or am I good?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XDN] Foundation on: July 02, 2015, 02:37:08 PM
The next stage of our plan is focused on increasing DigitalNote’s media presence. We are already working to promoting XDN anonymous and untraceable messaging capabilities to media representatives in the US and Europe. However, such effort should be paramount – on all fronts and with all the potential.

To facilitate our effort in increasing media coverage of the DigitalNote, we ask the community to help us develop the newsmakers. Therefore, we are launching a competition for the best newsmaker related to DigitalNote. The question of the competition is the following:

How can the technology implemented in the DigitalNote be used in the classic economy?

Please post your comments and competition entries in this threat, quoting this message. We will have an open vote on all the competition entries to select the top three. The three winners will be awarded 100 000 XDN.

Help us take XDN to the top! Together we can make it happen!

A nice contest!

My entry is not exactly about classic economy, but I do have one idea about how to use the XDN technology differently from how it is used at the moment. I'm referring to the encrypted messenger: by integrating the already existing system of sending completely anonymous and untraceable messages into a lightweight cheap mobile app, one would make a truly revolutionary messenger, that wouldn't need to rely on expensive servers and personnel to maintain it. It would be cheaper to use than any of the competitors who are present at the market at the moment and at the same time more secure, with XDN's already-established miners network ensuring speed and security 24/7.

Nice! Looking forward to (hopefully) winning this auction!

The last two weeks were very important in terms of our community work. First we did a successful crowdfunding campaign. Now we did our first XDN auction. I was quite nervous about the reaction of the community to our initiatives, but seeing big lumps of funds coming to our wallet, and later hot debates and bidding sprees to win the auction, made me feel relieved and enthusiastic. I am delighted to say that this was a successful funding campaign that culminated in XDN auction. As a result, we raised some liquid funds for XDN Foundation, as well as supported Digitalnote’s market price.

Thank you to all the community members, who supported us in the crowdfunding campaign!

Congratulations to the auction winner TwinWinNerD! I am confident you will see your XDN funds grow in value steadily.

The funds that we collected will go to financing our marketing effort and specifically outsourcing some of the important marketing functions to the outside professional marketing and PR agency.

We are now launching a tender to select the best suited marketing agency on the market. I will update you with the proposals that we will receive shortly.

Yeah, good job on the auction, guys, it definitely went better than the previous attempt. I'm really disappointed by the fact that I couldn't win, but nevertheless will try again. I'd like to request you to open up the second auction at a price of 80 satoshi per XDN, as I'm really interested in buying a big stake.

Btw, those coins will not be dumped but hold for the long term. So have no fear Smiley

Well that's somewhat reassuring, I hope you do stick to your words. Congratulations on winning.
28  Economy / Services / Looking for a technical consultant on: June 30, 2015, 08:38:49 AM
Hey guys!

I'm planning to invest and participate in the development of a certain cryptocurrency-based project which, I believe, has a lot of potential. I have experience in marketing and communications, which I intend to use there, but I have one problem: my technical understanding is very limited and to be able to contribute I really need to have a deep understanding of how the code of the underlying technology works.

Because of that, I need a programmer, experienced in C and C++, who will be able to dissect the code of the underlying piece of technology and explain it to me in layman's terms in the form of concise reports and Q&A sessions.

If anyone is interested, please reach out to me via PM to discuss the details of the job and compensation.

Thank you.

Bid: 100. This really isn't a very good price, the only reason I'm going so high is because I'm worried that some of the buyers can still pursue intentions that are harmful to the coin. I, on the contrary, will restrict myself from selling the XDN and crashing the course by locking all the coins in a blockchain deposit.

What time does the auction end?

In 15 minutes from now.

Guys, since 0.1 or 0.01 satoshi isn't even a thing, I'll have to ask you to make the minimum price increment 1 satoshi per XDN, otherwise you can just keep changing the bids by 0.001, 0.0001 etc., which doesn't make much sense.

The last bid that conformed to this rule was 80 satoshi from hodlbananas, so we'll consider that one as the current price.

Sorry but I don't understand this rule. The XDN exchange with the biggest volume trades in 1/10 of satoshis. https://hitbtc.com/terminal/XDNBTC, so how is this "not even a thing". And considering that each 0.1 satoshi increase correstonds to a 0.02 BTC increase, I wouldn't say this is unsubstantial.

Come on man, why not bid 80.000001 while we're at it?

So you see no difference in a 0.000001 increase and 0.1 increase?

When it comes to measuring satoshis - no, I really don't. Besides, you used a 0.01 increment too, so there's no telling how far are you gonna go. Can we close this competition in polemics and proceed to the actual auction?

80.11 / XDN

OK, where are you all coming from? For the past two days there were no bids made and now all hell broke lose. I bid 80.12.

Hello everyone!

I would like to remind you that the auction ends in 6 hours from now, so I advise everyone who wants to participate to hurry up with registering and placing their bids.

I'm offering 72 satoshi per XDN

Yeah OK, not your fake accounts manipulating the price again. Xian, wasn't there some sort of compliance set up to prevent this from happening again?

Hey hodlbananas! I understand your frustration, but that user has, in fact, made their deposit. Here's the link to the transaction they sent me: https://blockchain.info/tx/68f30a9f26a72ad1ab9c4f0374b2272918282f012401320ca149885e3d0ab14a

I think that you shouldn't dismiss this account as fake: my guess is that there's someone else behind that account, who just doesn't want their public name to become known in the context of this auction. Which is perfectly understandable, given how the coin that we're currently auctioning is centered around ideas of anonymity and privacy. I was sure they'd turn up right at the end of the auction Smiley

In my own opinion depositing 1BTC because i want to buy into an auction is not welcome, Bitcoin is meant to be invested, traded and not to be enslaved or kept some where.
I might be interested in buying some @70 sats but i can not send you 1BTC.

Hello melisande! All deposits are returned to their owners at the end of the auction so they are locked for just a couple of days. I agree with you: Bitcoin, like any other kind of money, should be turned over at all possible times to maintain its continuous growth, but the Foundation believes the following: by having people deposit just 1 BTC for the duration of the auction, we are making sure that they aren't here to speculate, or artificially increase the price but are indeed legitimate investors who are interested in seeing the XDN grow. And that is well worth the price of having 1 BTC per person restricted from active market use for a short duration, because this way we are ensuring accountability and goodwill of the auction participants.

We are open to suggestions and recommendations on improving auction terms, which will ensure the participants' accountability for speculative behavior.

All right, whatever. I bid 75.

I bid 70 satoshi per XDN. Additionally, I'd like to let y'all know that I will not sell a single XDN out of these and will instead lock them in a blockchain deposit. And if anyone manages to overbid me at this auction or any other, I advise you to make the same with your DigitalNote stakes FTGG.
