21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UBER will start to transact with Bitcoin? on: February 14, 2021, 06:35:29 PM
While I don't use Uber because it's not available in my country but it is good to see more and more companies starting to accept bitcoin as a payment method. I don't know how Uber will implement it, but maybe they will make you deposit your bitcoin in your Uber account first and they will deduct the balance when you use the service otherwise the customer have to pay the transaction fee everytime they use the service which will be quite expensive compared to the ride fare.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get another golden oppurtunity to buy? on: February 14, 2021, 09:44:44 AM
Depends on your target price. If you think bitcoin can reach $100k then even right now is a golden opportunity to buy but the funny thing is people often scared to buy when the price goes down. You had like 2 years to buy bitcoin for less than 10k but i bet you are not buying any because people are scared the price will go even lower, then they saw the price goes up and they regret because they don't buy it. Same as right now it seems like the price is already high but if it can reach even higher then why not just buy right now.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 14, 2021, 04:46:24 AM
Turns out that the bill is much worse than we ever anticipated. Even the existing holders of cryptocurrency will be penalized, even if they agree to immediately liquidate their crypto assets.

https://www.livemint.com/market/cryptocurrency/get-ready-for-hefty-penalty-to-legalize-your-crypto-assets-11613064974027.html

Quote
The proposed cryptocurrency bill may allow holders of such currencies to exit the asset class before its anticipated ban but may put a heavy penalty on its conversion to a legal asset.

The government strategy is very simple. They have run out of money and now they want to confiscate wealth from successful people. From what I can understand from the article, the government is proposing a transition period, where the existing cryptocurrency users will be allowed to sell their assets. But here is a catch. The government is proposing a "heavy" penalty on those who doing so. In the end the penalty may work out to 50% to 75%. One the remaining amount, the income tax of up to 43% needs to be paid. So in the end, if someone is holding $100,000 worth of cryptocurrency, the government will take away $90,000 and leave the individual with around $10,000 in funds.

This is nothing but plain daylight robbery. I don't know what to say about those people who still support the criminals who run the government.

Private cryptocurrency issued by the state, so that's mean it's prohibited to own almost all crypto that exist right now right? Wow that's actually really harsh, banning is one thing but confiscating crypto assets? that's tyranny in my opinion. If they want to earn money from crypto realated income then they can tax it, no need for punishment on top of the heavy tax. Crypto holder should just hold their crypto until the the finalized bill is passed and decide what to do after that.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 13, 2021, 02:39:40 PM
Vardy would've had a hattrick in the first half if he finished his chances. Liverpool should've lost a lot more if it's not for vardy bad finishing today. Now it's three straight lose and they are going to miss UCL spot if this kind of performance continue. Is it just me or salah dives a lot this season and he's not a good diver, ref should've given him yellow card for that kind of dive in the first half.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: different price movement this time on: February 13, 2021, 01:23:58 PM
hello guys we all know BTC price reached peaks an year after each halvening followed by 80-90% major price correction and so on after each cycle. i thought to myself it may be different this time since everyone expect this to happen again. since adoption is growing and more money are involved maybe this time price will just climb slowly up in the next years with some minor 10-20% corrections now and then until it reaches high 6-digit amounts (plateau) after some years. if this happens we have no choice but to hold for longer period otherwise we will not be able to buy back. can you share your thoughts on this?

I think it's different right now from back then because the price didn't move a lot at the last halving, the one that's pushing it right now is a lot of institutional investors which is a major improvement from the last bull run and with the news of tesla and mastercard will accept crypto as a payment option then we are advancing a lot in adoption progress so i think the foundation is definitely stronger than the last time and the price will still continue to climb.

I have the same issue 20hash. I tried the memory and clock at anyway and still doesn't work better than 23.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers,

Can you confirm is due to the 452.06 version?

Regards

I have 1 1660 super with hynix memory (MSI ventus xs) and i can get it run to 32 Mhs using -502 core and memory at 62% power limit. The driver i am using is the 446.14 version and it's stable for mining since june last year if i remember correctly. If you think it's driver issue then you can try to download another driver version but are you sure you have the hynix memory? not micron or samsung?

Right.. My memory is Kingston as far as I know and its 4 Gig. And the 1660 super version is the EVGA.

I will try with the drivers and let you know guys , thanks for the tip.

I mean the GPU memory type, not the RAM you are using and you can check that using software like gpu z and it should show one of Hynix, Micron, or Samsung.I already seen your afterburner setting in another post and if you really has hynix memory then you should set both of the core clock and memory clock to -502, not just the core clock like this https://prnt.sc/zcd750
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC were to permanently freeze at one price , would you buy ? on: February 13, 2021, 07:50:14 AM
It's impossible to happen as there will be supply and demand around it but assuming that kind of scenario happen is going to happen then what's the different from fiat you are using right now? if the investment aspect of bitcoin is gone then what the use of bitcoin as the number of things that you can buy with bitcoin is limited right now. The number of interest in bitcoin will go down for sure because no one want to buy a stable asset. People buy asset expecting returns (such as stocks, property, gold) and if bitcoin offer none of that then it's useless.

The last time i used nicehas was around june last year and i agree that the rejected share on nicehash is definitely bigger than when using phoenix miner + other mining pool. If the issue is not because of unstable overclock then you should change the mining pool. If you are a small miner then i guess ethermine is good because they can pay you every 2 weeks, other pool usually set their minimum withdrawal at 0.05 which will take a few weeks if you are a small miner. You can also consider flexpool, their server is great and i got less stale with them, but you have to pay for the network fees when you want to withdraw your eth.
Thats the problem with other Ethereum mining pools, if you want to withdraw you have to pay for the withdrawal fee which is very high right now but it's better to mine into binance exchange ETH wallet or use binance Ethereum mining pool, anyone use binance pool before?

I only know about ethermine and flexpool (because i use them), but right now with ethermine they subsidize the withdraw fee because they self-mined payout transactions with a 1 gwei gas price (you basically paid nothing for the withdraw) and you will get paid if you have more than 0.01 eth in your unpaid balance and haven't received a payout during the last 14 days (used to be the last 7 days but they changed it recently).
With flexpool you'll earn maybe 3% more but you have to pay the normal transaction fee (about 100 gwei right now) so you can choose which will benefit you more. I don't know about other pool like nanopool or binance because i never use them.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 1559 and 2.0: Update and Timelines on: February 12, 2021, 07:19:10 AM
Increasing DAG size to 5-7GB won't help and it will eliminate a lot of 6gb card like 1060, 1660, 2060, 5600 alongside with old asic. And then we still have a new asic like Innosilicon A11 which has 8 gb of vram so the one that will be impacted the most are the small miner so i don't like the increasing dag solution. Also if the team refuse to remove the burning fee, then, it would be nice to raise the base block reward, 2 to 3 eth per block would be welcomed.

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why was Musk so late to the party? / or Publically support BTC on: February 11, 2021, 03:09:35 PM
He has a lot of other business so maybe bitcoin hasn't got his attention until now and if you are looking at the grandscheme of thing he's not actually that late, bitcoin is not mainstream at all, not everyone know what bitcoin is and the number of merchant that accept bitcoin as a payment method is not much. We don't know how much bitcoin will worth if it goes mainstream. he brings support and attention to crypto so i expect good things ahead.

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin price had not crashed in 2018 on: February 08, 2021, 12:53:47 PM
For me, I think it is necessary for Bitcoin to have a major crash in 2018 because of the market’s immaturity (thanks to the ICO hype that lacks regulation). I do however, agree the fact that if the market was more matured like what it does today, I bet we have reached new heights and a lot of people may become Bitcoin millionaires or so.
Yep completely agree, in 2017 everyday we saw new icos and projects that want to get big funding and people saw that as a quick flip scheme, participate in the ico and sell immidiately when the token get listed on some exchange. People that don't even know what blockchain is keep buying crypto with purpose to get rich quick and i am glad that the crash happened as it's becoming out of control back then. The one that still believe in crypto keep accumulating and now the market is more mature and healthy than before.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Choosing the right riser boards for RTX series on: February 08, 2021, 10:46:34 AM
Just buy ubit PCIE Riser version 009s like this one https://amzn.to/3tFiDMy or something similiar and use the 6 pin to power it (never use sata connector). I already used them for almost a year and all still in a good condition. You can also throw away the sata connector that comes with the riser unless you want to use it and burn your house down. This is a good guide on how to power your riser & GPUs and how much power that can run on each cable https://www.gpuminingresources.com/p/psu-cables.html
36  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 08, 2021, 09:12:25 AM
Risk taker can be the one that ahead financially, also can also be the one that ahead on bankruptcy, it will be different from every person and what risk did they take. Higher risk almost always means higher reward but not a lot of people can't handle the aftermath especially if it's bad that;s why they choose low risk low reward because they don't want anything bad to change in their life. Also you only see successful risk taker because they will be the one that share their experience not the one that fail spectaculary.

I am running 4 x 3080s MSI ventus 3x @ around 95,5 mhz and the temps are around 50-53 Celsius.
On the inner cards the temps are a big higher and I bought additional fans, which I plugged to the mobo and put them infront of them, so that the memory could be a bit cooler.
Just to tell you since I got the MSIs the temps in my lviing room are like 10 Celsius higher than usual Cheesy its getting really , really hot in here

Do you get thermal throttle on 3080 MSI ventus 3x? i want to buy several 3080 as there's almost no 3060ti in my country but i read that some brand's memory temperature get too hot and thermal throttle to 60-70 MHs. I know that you can fix it by changing the thermal pads but that will be additional works and the warranty will be void if i do that so i am looking for brand that has good cooling. EVGA FTW3 is good but there's only a few stores that sell EVGA brand here.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC? on: February 08, 2021, 07:12:41 AM
It's usually the casual user that get hacked as they don't seems to put a lot of importance to their password, use the same password for all their email and website accounts, downloading random thing on the internet, and they often click random links on the internet. If you are careful with what you do on the internet then you should be fine. My account never get hacked and i always use authenticator to be more secured.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 08, 2021, 05:01:41 AM
You are right. Liverpool's defense is very weak now. Their game strategy should change. They will not be able to draw the match against Manchester unless they change their strategy.
it would be nice if Klopp brings another goalkeeper to Anfield the next session, Alisson did blunder when the city creates goals on 2nd and 3rd. as my reason post above, the defender is weak and all players are very unconfident. all team need a psychiatrist  Grin
Isn't adrian good enough as a backup keeper? i don't think they need another goalkeeper, it's just one match and allison having a bad game but he can bounce back to the usual performance next game. If the bad form continue and he has kepa like performance for the rest of the season then i agree they will need to buy another goalkeeper. Their problem is the defense, there's nobody there as everyone is injured.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Connecting GPU's with and w/o Risers on: February 08, 2021, 02:03:15 AM
Are you going to mine inside a case? because usually the one that want to connect 2 GPU directly to the motherboard doen't use open case. It's okay but the temperature will be higher than using riser because you will space them properly. You'll probably run into thermal throttle if you are planning to use 3080 / 3090 but other than that i think it will be okay. I've seen someone open the side panel and using 1 riser for the 2nd gpu.
