I believe it exists but you never posted it in the thread as being ready - so how do I know you are not a personal friend of his and he listed your prior to my pool in order to give you free coins - this guy is getting off to a bad start by the apparent lack of transparency.
I'll offer a pool for the coin but only if it's pure scrypt - not X11 - sorry
Well, I concede your point on that one. I should've posted in the thread in addition to sending a PM ftresfi. In relation to the coin type, it should be pure scrypt as far as I understood.

Hi jjj0923. The pool listed 4th, bitlitspool.com is mine. It really does exist. Why does it matter that I do not have a post in the thread? I am a real person and the pool is real, I have been in contact with ftresfi in the last few days. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask them.

I am not really promoting it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . I knew right from the start it cannot be. BTW, it seems that he changed the description from the date my message was written. I spoke with him on Skype on that day (August 10), and I told him it can't be. I did found the same USB in another store that wrote the real hashrate. Also, before calling me a noob, please read my post "I remain very sceptical". I might be new to the forums, but I have a lot of experience with software and hardware and I always do my research, I knew right away it couldn't be 8Gh/s scrypt mining, the seller was misinformed or a scammer, I don't know and don't care. With the dual Gridseed being only 350KH/s, of course a usb could not be more. I am going to remove the link if I can too, so people won't think I am promoting this.

You are welcome. I would recommend using a reputable ESCROW agreed by both parties (i.e. you and the seller). As they say, check, check and double check again. And always read the small letters at the end of any agreement ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Hello. I don't have one for sale, but I do have a word of caution about Paypal. I presume you want to use their services because of their Buyer protection, am I right? If so, be aware that you will not necessarily be eligible for it. For example, if you pay the person through Paypal's option of "send money to friends or family", then you are not covered. Also, when you buy a custom-made item (which this one is kind of is), again, you are not covered. I would suggest reading the exact terms carefully, as you are about to spend a very large sum of money. For your convenience, here's a link for terms (based on Paypal in the USA): https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US#13Hope it helped, good luck with your purchase, hope it'll end well for you. Cheers

Wow, this forum is quick.
First, thanks for the super quick response.
Second, based on your answer, I am a bit confused.
I would like to start mining as a hobby first and "get into" the mining trend, but for now my budget is not big. It seems from your answer and other posts I read on the forum that if you don't have a big budget, you will never recuperate what you invested (I know that in order to earn money it's necessary to spend some, but this seems ridiculous). So, what would you suggest for a starting miner based on this? Buying bitcoins is out of the question (don't have the money for it), and Litecoin is talked about in this forum as a dead currency. Is there any hope at all for miners joining these days? Or should I just give up on mining altogether?
Thanks, Shay

Hello
I am interested in buying this machine, and found it for 33 Euro with shipping. The miner is second hand but buyer says its in good condition and also have only good feedback (listing is on ebay).
Would like your thoughts if its worth the money.
Thanks in advance, Shay

Hmmm...
Inasmuch as this could be true (and as you can never know which one has got malicious code on it), this really not practical to stop using usb devices. We use them for too many things today.
If you are a private person (i.e. not a business), then you need to put on your firewall and antivirus software and should be enough (most routers have got an internal firewall today, so another layer of security exists).
The question now becomes why would a company (say sandisk for instance) will manufacture a USB that can inject malicious code into your computer? In addition, no one really tried hacking a private person's computer (if someone put 123456 for his internet banking site, sorry but he is an idiot).
Also, most times (if not all) you need to be physically at the computer to use the usb (the hacker, of course).
So, I respectfully disagrees with the article, it looks like another new scare for me (if you want to be safe, don't ever connect to the internet, but this is not really possible nowadays, is it?).

Yes, I thought so too. This is probably for bitcoin (makes sense, there are usb with this hashrate).
The seller either didn't understand me or he doesn't really knows his stuff (or he is lying, but I reserve judgement until he answers my other question as he does have very good feedbacks).

Hello I just found this usb scrypt miner a few days ago: link removedProduct page says it provides 8 GH/s hashrate, so it looked a little weird for me. Spoke with the seller on skype and he confirmed that it has such hashrate. I remain very sceptical. Any thoughts? Thanks, Shay

True that, price is almost too good. Unfortunately for me, he bumped the price again, so I can't buy it anymore.
Also, I am hearing about GH/s not being enough anymore, and while it's true, not everyone has got a huge budget to buy TH/s machines.
I also can't seem to find StickMines (e.g. antminer U2) as for some reason they are all out of stock and it seems like they become rare but people still want them.
Anyway, I will have to keep looking, maybe I'll just buy some cloud mining on CEX.io, eBay seems to be full of them for cheap prices on the GH/s.

Of course. From reading and learning the last few days, I got the idea that it is better to reinvest BTC you get (won't be much, but you got to start somewhere and my budget is really small). I also noticed that many shops accept bitcoins and sometimes only bitcoins. I also guess I would be able to sell it later for someone else who's just starting, as in my still not very educated opinion 32 GH/s can still get you some coins even though the difficulty is on the rise all the time. Its the same problem as with pc games and GPUs, there's no end to it and every day new products get out. If your budget is not great, you can't hope to follow, but you can still do a little and someitmes you might get lucky and find new blocks (although I still need to learn more about what exactly is the deal with finding blocks, why do they need to be found in the first place ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ).

Thanks for the answer. Yes, this for starting point ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) About profits, I get that I won't profit much, but this is as I said to learn and maybe make some bitcoins along the way (who knows, I can always be lucky ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ). I don't get it for free but the price is $18, which includes shipping with the DHL so should be quick to arrive and much cheaper than StickMines such as Antminer U2. As for electricity, it's not cheap as you mentioned, but I don't pay too much for it and it isn't going to be working 24/7 at the beginning at least. Thanks again, every help here is greatly appreciated.

Basically what the topic says.
I just found out about it and in an unbelievable price. The seller has an 80% off sale right now and sells it for 18$ only. In the description is says the usb and power included, but I did send a message to seller asking him about it just to be sure.
Anyway, I'm new and wanted to know what you think about it? It says that it is 32-37 GH/s and takes about 40-45W.
Thanks for all the help, this is an amazing forum!

also its not the parts you can monitor on a laptop that you worry about its the parts you cant monitor such a VRMs which always run hot add the extra strain of mining and the fact there little circulation in a laptop your asking for trouble. Yes, that is true. I don't really use it a lot, I only wanted to see if I actually configured the mining client correctly. I don't really use it too much for mining. As for cex.io and PBmining I heard about them. I was actually talking about contracts from private people on eBay, like they will use their equipment for you for a set time, but on a pool of your choice. Also, sorry to ask so many questions, but do you think anminers on aliexpress can be trusted to be the real thing? cheers, thanks for all the help ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I do agree, but I am not worried about overheating as I monitor it closely. Another thing is that this is an old laptop that I don't use a lot. As for miners such as the one you posted, I've seen them, but I live in Italy and sometimes the shipping rates people put on this stuff are outrages and make the whole deal not worth it. I will probably go for it if I find it cheap, don't mind buying a used one. I've also seen contracts from people for mine power, such as 1TH/s for 4 hours 5 euros or so. You sound like you know your mining, what do you think about this kind of offers? (they will mine to a pool of your choice). Thanks for all the advise ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I know. I am just starting and don't have a lot of money, I just wanted to get it to work to see if I configured the client correctly, as with CPU mining you can't even see if it works. Also, I use software to see the load on the GPU and have used the --intensity d clause. The load is usually around 80% use chrome and other non-gpu intensive programs. The hashrate is actually 14 MH/s on average, which is more than I expected. Anyway, right now I just do it for fun and to learn the "business", but money is tight right now. During the night when I don't use the computer I can crank up the intensity up to 6 and it goes as high as 18 MH/s with a load of 90%. I agree with all your statements, but I do think it is good to learn how to actually mine, because it does have some hashrate. Cheers ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Hello all, my first post, I'm excited ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I have a laptop with the aforementioned GPU unit, and was pulling my hair out trying to get CGminer to recognise the card. I have seen topics about it, but never a definite solution. After about two days (ok, I admit, not that much), I finally managed to do it. Here's how: obviously the OpenCL SDK is needed for it to work, the question was, how? There are so many versions, and some graphic cards need older versions. So, here is what you have to do: 1. Get the driver from your laptop manufacturer (e.g. Dell, HP, etc.) 2. Uninstall your driver then reboot. 3. Get the AMD APP SDK versison 2.7 - IMPORTANT! 4. Install the driver, if it asks to reboot, say no. 5. Install the SDK you downloaded, then when it finishes reboot. 6. Open CGminer, it should now recognise the card. Here's the link to version 2.7 OpenCL (both for 32 and 64 bit systems): http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/opencl-zone/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/download-archive/The last two links are version 2.7 for windows. Hope it helped someone. Have a great day all.
