21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 08, 2014, 11:54:29 PM

It just feels like you are all creating talk here to keep alive a thread. What innovations? There are none of them note worthy. It could be a very nice coin but it is not flying high for now.
As for the stewardship under Neutraltc it was not all rosy so please take off your sunglasses (paying a dev before anything done!!!).
I don't usually talk but I'm quite annoyed to see so much back patting for nothing above average.

whether the innovations are note worthy are debatable however I'll list them. Also, Chedigital and Golden have both developed Incognito coin outside the main wallet by working on the front-end and back-end of a web wallet, brain app, website, merchant API, and forums well before a developer was ever payed. The brain wallet app for Incognito coin is somewhat innovative as few if any coins besides Bitcoin has automated generation for brain wallets.  I would like to point out that Hectortilla had never requested payment for the ATM API developed for Incognito coin which utilized point-of-sale (according to thread history). In hindsight there could certainly be room for improvement but I would argue that PR was handled quite well as Desil volunteered to make promotional videos of ICG while the Incognito coin twitter account garnered over six hundred followers. Beyond the earlier mentioned features, There's already a web wallet, mobile wallet, and a full API for web merchants to accept ICG.

I think that you may be missing the big picture in that the ICG ATM API was independently developed as a closed payment solution by directly exchanging coins through Bittrex and several Hot-wallets without the dependencies of other APIs owned by a company. Meaning that there's no propriety restrictions in it's usage allowing it to be ported to ATMs, cash registers (hypothetically), Web merchants, and other instances where point-of-sale is required. Essentially, it's unique in that a third-party hot wallet is not required for its usage meaning that the whole transaction process is more decentralized with less single points of failure. There's only a handful of alt-coins which use ATMs (Gulden, Bitstar, Doge, ETC) however all of them require a hot-wallet operated by the ATM service provider. I realize that my post is long-winded but I wanted to emphasize the differences in Incognito coin and how it's innovative in at least one way.

Good post, although you forgot the anonymous tx system when you listed out the features. Ultimately a coin's value is determined by its utility and actual practical usage in the real world. I've seen many coins with significant development and innovation isolated to one key function eventually be forgotten due to a lack of practical usage beyond the speculative trading in this forum. The fact that ICG already has been extensively developed upon for the purposes of accessibility and usage contribute to one of the reason why I personally invested in it. Most coins fail to articulate their actual purpose and proposed usage and typically never reach a stage to be considered widely adopted. I see this as an exception with Incognito coin as it's main slogan states: "IncognitoCoin's mission is to create a simple and intuitive anonymous coin through the concerted efforts of a decentralized community." The growing list of merchants and real-world usage in ATMs, web merchants, and physical payments using paper wallets is a testament to this.

What is everyone talking about? More volume, more exposure, more...?
The coin is at such a low that the marketcap of it is shrinking. I find it very strange that happened at same time as Neutraltc was getting out, needed funds for new coin?
This used to be an interesting coin and has since regressed to a point of not being relevant. Don't say it is in ATMs as unless you can show me how many people use ICG in an ATMs, it means nothing

New coin? This wasn't my coin to begin with, if you like we can go all the way back to the other thread and show you how a group of random people and I took over this project. My goal was to learn how altcoin's work behind the scene's and try to run this coin 100% as a community effort coin... if you remember, this was a community takeover.

I have now my own project, so I handed the project to others that are still interested.

I can attest to this and I congratulate neutra on all the hard work as well as the rest of the team. It's been a long time fighting.

Thanks somekind, it sure was an uphill battle! Now let's see where Desil and his team can take it. Good luck guys

I've been watching this coin for a while and have the same enthusiasm. Not many other alt-coins have ATMs.

After reviewing the ATM API developed for ICG, I noticed that it uses a point of sale system which is rather innovative by itself. I'm surprised that Incognito coin is selling at such a low price after development and incorporation of ATMs, mobile wallets, web wallets, brain app, and new wallet features. User adoption seems to be increasing.

That is correct. A point of sale system was indeed used in the ICG ATM API allowing for quick transactions. The Incognito Coin team is currently seeking for more ATM providers as the existing API should allow for quick integration and broaden the potential user-base.

That sounds interesting. It could also be possible to extend the point-of-sale system beyond web merchants and ATMs and implement it in a form of marketplace paired against ICG. There's numerous possibilities as to how  the existing API could be further expanded, but for now I think that increasing the amount of ATM partnerships would be ideal.

As far as I know, most other ATM providers besides Genreal Bytes (where ICG is already accepted) are located throughout Europe near major metropolitan areas. Getting Incognito coin exposure to new users in a different market outside Europe would accelerate growth.

It would also be nice to get accepted into major companies and service platforms. Cointopay is a good start as most of the basic payment processor needs are now met.

Right, there's several merchants which use cointopay and by default are capable of accepting ICG. I can definately see ICG being accepted by service based apps like Send chat for example. It would also be beneficial to get accepted by popular gambling websites.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 05, 2014, 04:28:19 PM

I agree, we also shouldn't limit ourselves to only desktop use. From my experience, it's relatively easy to use ICG on my android phone by either the Web wallet or mobile wallet. I've also had no issues using ICG where accepted by merchants. Improving the existing features while getting added by more merchants sounds like a plan to move forward upon.

That's actually what I was thinking too. It would be nice to see ICG more developed as a platform for services but the ICG team has done very well so far. Not too many other alt-coins are integrated into ATM services.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 04, 2014, 05:24:21 PM
Yeah, It shouldn't be too hard to get ICG further accepted by merchants and businesses. I will do the same and post back news later.

I'll match your offer and do the same. The API offered by cointopay should offer easy integration of ICG into web merchants and services.

Nice jump in buys and BTC volume. This is an indication of a trend reversal as new investors join and community participation increases.

Already making some progress, I was also able to use ICG at the merchants which use cointopay.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 03, 2014, 09:21:21 PM
low sell resistance relative to the amount of BTC in buy orders. I'm going to introduce ICG towards crypto-currency service sites.

Promotional material and advertisements are being continually produced while the ICG team is working on development.

The animation and infomercial series should attract new people. Good job.

With a strong and transparent Dev team who are planning many innovative developments, ICG should reach new heights. It shouldn't take too long for others to catch on.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 03, 2014, 03:42:28 AM
I'm going to take advantage of the cheap ICG prices once my BTC buy order is filled. The price shouldn't stay at this level for long once developments are released soon.

Indeed, I'm going to do the same. The ICG team has delivered a lot thus far.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 02, 2014, 09:07:41 PM

Keep up the good work! I'll try to get in contact with merchants and increase acceptance of ICG.

Getting listed on gambling websites and other forms of e-commerce will also help.

Once the development is finished with ICG, it should really set it self out from other alt-coins by easy merchant adoption and several choices for user interfaces. I envision a form of platform to built upon it to help facilitate business transactions while providing useful services.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 02, 2014, 01:52:34 PM
The order book is a little skewed but there's strong buy support relative to the market-cap. It should be up hill from here.

Yeah, I doubt ICG will continue to be oversold like this.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: December 01, 2014, 12:58:13 AM
I was able to take advantage of the 10% discount and make a purchase at http://bitscoinshop.com.br/en/ using ICG. Hopefully more opportunities to use it will open up.

I also made a purchase there using ICG. Now that we have access to a payment processor, it should be much easier for other merchants to accept Incognito coin.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 25, 2014, 07:57:05 PM

Can you explain me what is special in ICG? What are the advantages?

Presently, Incognito coin offers a encrypted stealth address Tx system allowing for anonymous transactions. However Incognito coin is unique in that it's one of the few alt-coins accepted by GeneralByte ATMs located throughout Europe and already a mobile wallet and web wallet are available through the payment processor Cointopay.

As a community based coin, ICG has received development from  Hectortilla, Fernando, and Chedigital. ICG is also accepted by numerous merchants either directly such as http://bitscoinshop.com.br/en/ or through the payment processor Cointopay. There is also a significant focus on marketing and adoption which will provide a viable future for the coin beyond speculative investing. A "brain-wallet" is also in development alongside other features planned for release.

Personally, I have invested in ICG because there's no single point of failure due to open access for development and improvement by the community.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 18, 2014, 06:07:23 PM
There seems to have been a steady price correction. It shouldn't take too long for buy support to rebuild.

I wouldn't be too worried. Fundamentally The ICG team is achieving results so the long-term prospect seems quite good.

This coin is more of a long-term investment with nearly unlimited potential as it's community run and developed.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 18, 2014, 12:19:19 AM
There seemed to be a minor dump, but it's a good opportunity to buy more cheap coins.

I don't see any reasoning behind it. The ICG team continues giving development updates and statuses on merchant adoption.

True, It was probably just one entity selling.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 14, 2014, 01:45:50 AM
Nice jump in volume and buy support. The price should correct in time.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 13, 2014, 10:47:48 PM
Lost my ass on this pos.  Undecided

Yes it has lost value, but I'm confident in an uptrend.

It's been relatively bloody for altcoins recently, especially those with low marketcaps. However I expect increased buy support and a correction in the price.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICG][X11] IncognitoCoin | Pos 5% | Bittrex | on: November 13, 2014, 05:47:33 PM
I've been following this coin for quite some time. The recent dip in value is due to the rise in bitcoin's price but otherwise I think it's a great time to buy.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Bitcoin Mainstream? on: November 13, 2014, 03:28:21 PM
We find more merchant adoption and create a larger user-base.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: why rise price? on: November 13, 2014, 03:20:42 PM
I believe there's many factors at play here, but I believe adoption is the main reason.
