21  Other / Archival / Re: Do you use bitcoin as currency or investment? on: June 01, 2016, 11:41:42 PM
At the moment, just before the halving, I use Bitcoin as an investment as I don't want to spend it before the halving come.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: May 30, 2016, 04:02:56 PM
Nobody will know what the value will be of Bitcoin and that is because Bitcoin is a currency so you never know what will happen with the value in the halving. But the most people are hoping that the value will rise soon so they can earn a lot of money with it.

Value has started to rise now, so we can hope it will continue till we reach to the halving stage, and I don't see any negative points related to halving now, it will be surely good for all of us.
How about the miners?  They are the main parties that have a direct impact of this halving, aren't they?
23  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Official Xapo Service Discussion on: May 29, 2016, 12:37:51 PM
Hello! My identity is under verification for 10 days. Nothing happens. I wrote twice to support@xapo.com and I got no response. What's problem? You will no longer provide services? My email in profile.

You are having issue with debit card ? We see a similar issue with advcash's exchange rates. This leave Bit-X as the only honest Bitcoin debit card service, in my opinion. They use the market exchange rates for card transactions and all fees are stated clearly

I think he had a problem verifying the account Xapo for now to use xapo must verify the account ID
Very bad 10 days no response my advice try again contact the service with a different email
I am surprised to see a lot of people have problems with Xapo support center, but when I sent an email to the Xapo support center, I got the reply just in couple hours.
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bet: Bitcoin to top $900 before Sep 2016 on: May 29, 2016, 08:31:10 AM
That is not going to happen we are way to far away from that, we are not even close. we have yet reach $500 so for it to go to $900 is a bit unlikely to happen. Maybe it will happen ion 2017.
We have reached $ 500 now. I believe that Bitcoin can go to $ 900 at least before the end of this year. Let's see...
25  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bagaimana cara menjelaskan bitcoin kepada pemula? on: May 29, 2016, 08:26:24 AM
Ane bingung gan mohon bantuanya

Eh gan, ente kenal ane gak? Kayaknya kita temenan di FB Cheesy
26  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: How to make 0.5 btc just from fauceting? on: May 29, 2016, 07:48:45 AM
Personally I stay away from faucet. In my experience, I spent one week to earn only 30,000 satoshi from some faucets. I warn you, stay away from faucet.
27  Local / Trading dan Spekulasi / Re: [DISKUSI] Harga Bitcoin on: May 29, 2016, 07:25:40 AM
kemarin lihat harga btc sekitar $490an sekarang udah $500+ aja cepet bener yah kenaikannya, apa karena mau mendekati halving kah orang ramai ramai buy ?
Ane pikir iya sih gan. Dan juga, ane pikir orang-orang ramai beli sekarang, sesudah halving nanti mereka mungkin malah langsung ngejual Bitcoinnya, dan malah bikin harga Bitcoin turun.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: May 29, 2016, 06:36:59 AM
I try to visualize what I want, where I want to be, what I am going to accomplish 10 years from now. It helps to have a concrete plan on how you are going to make your life better. It is human nature to strive for greater things once we have accomplished something. I try to look at the goal of being rich as a slow journey that's full of experiences that are both exciting ang challenging.
Nice try dude. In addition, it also will give you happiness, especially in enjoying life. I think being rich is not the only thing that is most important in life.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: May 28, 2016, 05:55:50 PM
Many people said Bitcoin is safe. I wonder, in a future where hardwares are already advanced than it is now, so maybe people could break the cryptographic keys that are made at this time, whether Bitcoin will still be safe?
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whether in your country bitcoin already allowed to use? on: May 28, 2016, 12:53:27 PM
I am not sure about my country that whether it has support from Government or not, but many people are using it and its very easy for me to convert it to my local currency.
You are Indonesian, right? You should read this, the official press release from our central bank about virtual currencies: http://www.bi.go.id/en/ruang-media/siaran-pers/Pages/SP_160614.aspx
31  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to install Electrum on Linux? on: May 28, 2016, 07:35:04 AM
Hey everyone, I have an old Pentium 4 PC with specs:
1. Core speed: 3 GHz
2. Physical memory: 249 MB
3. Operating system: Wary 5 - Puppy Linux
4. Python version: 2.6.4

I want to use it as a cold wallet. But I realized that installing Electrum on Linux is not easy as on Windows. Please help me.
Hi, i have installed electrum on puppy6 through PPM (puppy packet manager)
Nothing extraordinary, no additional commands where needed.
Wallet has its own menu entry etc, its in 1.9.7 version. Very basic options.
Unfortunately, there is no Electrum package in Wary repository. So I had to build it manually. I had to install setuptools, ecdsa, and slowaes. And now the Electrum client works, but just in text mode that is uncomfortable for me because I don't know how to install PyQt4.
32  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: May 28, 2016, 03:44:58 AM
Currently many of us do not want to sell our coins since we are thinking that halving may explode bitcoin prices.
I think the Bitcoin halving will no explode Bitcoin price instantly, it need a few months and the price will seem significant at the end of the year.

34  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: May 27, 2016, 10:46:59 PM
Imo I think it is good for bitcoin hope the price will doubled
Price might rise. But I would be extremely cautions with our expectations. People seems to think that halving will be some kind of instant switch which make bitcoin price 2x or 3x higher.
And that most likely won't be the case. Price rise after halving will be slow and time consuming process.

Look, a couple hours ago bitcoin prices reached $ 480. And it seems to be easier to reach $ 500 before halving. I'm not sure on the price of bitcoin in the days after halving. And I think the price will seem significant at the end of the year.

36  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can I trust Blockchain.info wallet? on: May 27, 2016, 06:48:05 AM
I am truly shocked at the number of users saying Blockchain.info can be safe. I hope you all know that you can put all of your precaution measures, one beautiful day it can be hacked this website, and all your precious coins gone, because hacker will have access to your private keys, and 2FA can do nothing in this case. Is it so difficult to move to a desktop wallet, where private keys never leave your PC ?
AFAIK all wallets stored in blockchain.info is encrypted, and its strength depends on your password. It took a very long time to break the encryption on each wallets (and in Blockchain.info there are much wallets, not just yours). So, if Blockchain.info is hacked, users will have enough time to move their wallet balances to their secured wallet.

I am afraid you have not understand what I mean by hack, I mean the website to go offline, once blockchain.info gets hacked, you cannot access the website, it will give you DDOS or 404 not found error, meanwhile during this time the hacker has all of the database wallets and their private keys, and the hacker has all the time to send those BTC wherever he likes. Its highly not advisable to use such kind of wallets. This is my last warning, you do what you like, I am tired of repeating why blockchain is not the ideal wallet.
AFAIK the private keys are stored in the encrypted wallet. So, if the hackers want steal the private keys, they have to decrypt the encryption first.

Last word, I use Electrum, dude.

38  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: May 27, 2016, 06:20:21 AM
Gold nowdays is much safe and profitable so at my opinion better to choose gold, but bitcoin have huge potential and bitcoin is very promising.

Not at all, gold is these days not so good... its even lowered in price and by the way its also not safer if people know you got a good amount of gold they will rob you for sure with the bitcoin this is gonna be way more difficult.

Are you going to carry gold everywhere you go? That is simply impossible, you will always keep gold safe at home and that doesn't goes same with bitcoin you can carry as much as you can.
And because of this problem, the gold certificates or gold-backed money emerged, which then turned into paper money that can be used to make transactions. And others, take a look at what material used to make jewerly that worn by people? Much of them are golds! In conclusion, you can bring the gold anywhere (surely not gold bars, lol).
39  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can I trust Blockchain.info wallet? on: May 27, 2016, 05:56:33 AM
Formerly the Blockchain.info online wallet listed in the wallet lists on the Bitcoin.org website. But for some reason it is no longer exists. What this means it is not recommended for using the Blockchain.info online wallet?

Yes, it's have been removed since they wallet have a lot problem. I suggested do not trust them.
I never noticed that. Well, I don't usually visit bitcoin.org anyways.
But why did they remove blockchain.info? That was my very first wallet back in 2013 and I'm still using it with no problems at all.
there are too many maintances on their system, i think this is the one reason why do bitcoin, org removed them from their list, my last problem with them was the site was unaccessible, and problem with beta version when we were upgraded, as for me i dont recommend any online wallet, but for spendable amount i'll go with them,
However, although Bitcoin.org (I guess) do not recommend the Blockchain.info online wallet, I still trust it.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Next Halving on: May 25, 2016, 11:46:22 AM
According to the blockchain halving rule, the Bitcoin block mining reward halves every 210,000 blocks, the coin reward will be decreased from 25 to 12.5 coins at 10 Jul 2016 13:24:42,

Can anyone predict what will be the exact time and date for the next halving after this halving?

Something was bothering me, the time you write is not the same as bitcoinclock.com, this means that your prediction is not necessarily accurate, how can we predict the exact time for the next 4 years?
