With a regulated US exchange, it is expected all major investment banks will tap into the trading area of bitcoins.
Liquidity, depth of order book and trading volume will all be improved.
This is the real potential benefit I read from the coinbase announcement.
By the regulation, It is impossible for banks to trade on bitfinex and bitstamp in the past, unlike our retail traders.

From the birth of those new products, we can see the changing attitude of the regulators. Instead of leaving bitcoin in the corner and letting it kidnapped by drug dealers or underground economies, why not use it for good purpose?
I believe more and more bitcoin products will arrive in the USA, if the regulators are adjusting their attitude favorably like this.
New products could include:
Saving accounts accepting bitocins and paying bitcoin-unique interest rate,
Term loans based on bitcoins,
Corporate bonds denominated in bitcoins,
IPOs denominated in bitcoins.
The marriage between bitcoins and the Wall Street will be blessing and magnificent to all supporters like us.
A conspiracy theory of mine is that FED surely want to do more QE to boost the economy and to win the currency war against depreciating Euro, Yen and RMB. However, the printing of new USD is tightly monitored by the republican senate and congress. How to get around of that? Yep, approving bitcoin related products and making it a de-factor currency. Then the inflationary bitcoins at the distribution stage will funciton like "newly printed USD pouring into the economy". So the hypothesis is "using bitcoins to implicitly QE the U.S. economy". |

Why are we dumping???
Simple. Some people may want to take profits. Or some computer algorithm (or HF traders) thinks it is worthy "selling high and buying low" in a very small time interval since we will have enough volatility (or swing) to support it. |

Wow, wouldn't be surprised if we hit $300s tonight, I thought for sure there'd be a retrace down to $260-270 or so but looks increasingly less likely now.
I was also waiting for sizable pull backs, but bears were not collaborating. $300 is highly likely tonight. Today, we just have some early birds that are front running the majority of traders and investors. Tomorrow, I am afraid new fiat money pouring from the banking system will join into the MOON race. |

With the advent of two professional exchanges by the Winklevosses and Coinbase (which opens up tomorrow), people will finally be able to trust Bitcoin exchanges not to scam them out of their money or do blatant inside trading.
People will feel much more comfortable sending money to regulated exchanges run by people who know what they're doing and backed by venture capitalists (remember that NYSE recently invested in Coinbase) with a big stake in Bitcoin. The amateur exchanges will either professionalize or be left in the dust.
In my view, this may well be the biggest news story in a long time.
It is so happy to finally say good-bye to manipulative and unscrupulous Chinese exchanges. |

Edite all balances that were affected byb the activity check. A pull back to $sub-240 is not only plausible but also healthy. I think we will test $240 today.
Sorry but there is nothing healthy in falling price, especially in bitcoin world where price is vital for its expansion. Only healthy thing would be stable growth, not volatile prices like now but ofcourse that would be not fun so nobody is interested (except people who are actually doing something useful for bitcoin economy). The reason a mild pullback is healthy, because we are gapping up all the way from $23x to $259. We need at least two sizable pull backs to release the bearish steam. After that, the price will have less pressure to climb higher. The pullback from $259 to $245 is the first attempt by the bears, and an equivalent second attempt (forming now) will potentially drag us from around $250 to $235-240. Once both attempts failed, bears will give up the $240-250 territory and we will go up much easier. |

I see 300 USD by the end of the coming week.
Depends on the news and the associated newly incoming fiat. Given this un-usual "UP" weekend, I think the chance of seeing $300 by the end of next week is high. |
