21  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you're not out, get out. on: September 09, 2011, 07:10:45 PM
What do you mean?  There's another fake bid wall at $4 now.

ya that is where prices will likely become stable... for a while... it's a big bid wall, but there really isn't much above it.

Actually, taking into account that bitcoincharts isn't showing ANY activity <$4 I have a suspicion that it's not a wall at all, but rather the sum total of all holder who simply don't believe it will drop below $4.

*edit* wait, wait, no.  It's a wall:
$4.00    BTC:3461 (3)    $73616

Two of those orders are 20BTC and 10BTC accordingly, leaving one giant wall of ~$73k.  So unless somebody's foolish enough to actually want to spend $73k I'd bet that wall will disappear just like all the other ones did.
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paul Krugman Effect on: September 09, 2011, 07:03:25 PM

Give slashdot some credit. The first post was:
Qualifying Krugman as a "prominent Keynesian economist" is like calling Stephen Hawking a "prominent Einsteinian physicist". I call shenanigans.

For some stupid reason people who call themselves "austrian economists" are still given credibility despite their continued track record of failure, so in this case the distinction is prudent.

Not even the manipulator can save you now.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ownership vs Possession of bitcoins on: September 09, 2011, 06:48:25 PM
If Intersango didn't want to give BenDavis 511 bitcoins, they would write code that doesn't give it away so freely.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mtgox refusing to respond since first crash.. Holding my bitcoin. on: September 09, 2011, 05:51:25 PM
I cant be the only one. But for months mtgox had not answered any of there emails to them. There automated password recovery script never worked for me. I got friggen hosed by mtgox. So far they have stolen my bitcoin I'm getting pretty annoyed.

How else do you expect them to recover their losses from dwolla chargebacks?  Just as their dollar reserves dried up, some bitcoins must too.
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MtGox: Is the chart real? on: September 09, 2011, 05:31:01 PM
Look, there is literally a wall on the sell side. WTF?

Ask walls haven't been automatically cancelled when they get bought into.  Bid walls disappear all the time though.  That was is most likely real.

In Monopoly of the future, will there be a:

"Bitcoin error in your favor, collect $4000 dollars"

because of this?

If phantomcircuit was worthy of keeping his customers' bitcoins, they would write code that doesn't give it away freely.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: I found out it's one guy with all those buy walls on: September 09, 2011, 03:55:04 AM
I'm looking at the bid depth now, it looks like he is pulling out except a few walls. This can be a really bad sign.
I notice that he pulls out after some of his bid walls he has put up have been sold into hard. Supposedly someone sold 18K coins into his bid walls, that really probably hurt him bad.
It is always the same shit with this guy. He has been doing this shit so many times, and if you watch close enough you can clearly see it. That is why I am convinced.

So who do you think has enough USD holdings to cover those walls?  (hint: mtgox, DUH)

The irony of this thread is that you would exclude the people who have pretty much saved you from further scams at the hands of Bruce Wagner.

Saved from future etc.... Do you know the future by any chance.

31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in France: first legal decision directly related to Bitcoin? on: September 07, 2011, 04:53:11 PM
So since bitcoin is not money, does that mean that Tom Williams stole nothing at all?
32  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Liberals HATE Bitcoin [NY Times Link] on: September 07, 2011, 03:54:39 PM
It's just flat-out wrong though. BTC "soared"...then collapsed and hasn't risen again. It's also undergoing massive inflation, not deflation.

As a currency, its value it deflating because more and more of the currency is being hoarded by a select few who are still delusional enough to believe that bitcoins would be a viable, useful currency.  Right now it's just merely a highly efficient method of grifting wealth from one person to another.

I'm always serious and i'm always joking.

Nobody's disputing that you're a joke of a human being.  They're wondering if you're a troll, and considering that you probably do believe what you're posting, then you're not a troll.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchange accidentally sent 512 bitcoins after coding error on: September 06, 2011, 07:51:34 PM
Feel free to post again when you understand your own writings Smiley

(And have new evidence. "There might be things we don't know" isn't)

Irrelevant.  Occam's razor is simply the simplest choice out of the many choices presented.

Agreed.  He was quite a motivator and wished when I had the time I could have worked with him on one of the many ideas.

No, his ideas were the idiotic rantings of a petulant child.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: The REAL real reason Bitcoin is dropping... on: September 06, 2011, 03:21:12 PM
Bitrebel, is that you?
37  Other / Off-topic / Re: Freedom of Speech - Bitrebel's plea to the Community on: September 06, 2011, 03:12:47 PM
My conclusion is that yes, you are a troll.

That's a pretty short sighted conclusion if you'd actually bother to read back through his post history.  I'm amazed that any of you are surprised when Bitrebel's been posting his conspiracy theory bullshit for several months now.

Bitcoins are a collaborative effort on the part of Jesse Ventura, Ron Paul, Alex Jones, Gerald Celente, Bob Chapman, and Terry Anderson to break the back of the Federal Reserve.  This money is used to fund the revolution against the Illuminati.

Bitcoin Exchanges are created by the Illuminati to attempt to profit off the use of bitcoins by revolutionaries and use that money to fund propaganda campaigns against bitcoins.

Both parties finance the DDos attacks, in order to try to take control over the propaganda.
Both parties spread stories to sensationalize bitcoins.

The Masons and Vatican were both large consumers of bitcoins in the early days. Both factions attempted to liquidate at the same time, causing a price deflation overnight.

A right wing christian militia group bought the bitcoins as they went down in value and then sold them as they increased in value and are now poised to break away from the US and start their own country with guns, bombs and bitcoins.

I was not supposed to say anything.

You all look like you are pretty intelligent people.

This is where you went wrong.

Don't worry, they'll come back eventually and you'll get 49% of your package
