We never been against it and we have been thinking about it sine a long time. Now the problem here is that you have your mind wrapped around the US and have apparently a lot of difficulties to understand that we are not a US company and that we are based in Japan with different set of rules. Also since we are working on a global scale, such audit will be EXTREMELY difficult, long and expensive, a cost that goes FAR beyond what you are used to deal with on your local scale.

Now, WE HAVE BEEN AUDITED in Japan by a JAPANESE COMPANY and we already provide you with the LINK of the Japanese company that audited us (link available on this forum). This audit was for us a FRIST step, and we are moving as fast as we can on this matter. Bottom line : it will come at some point.
Another aspect that have already been discuss here on the forum : in Japan (Remember we are based in Japan) our accounting is done by a third and neutral party that is required to alert the authorities of any wrong doing.

Also we have publish early this year quite a lot of information about our company (these informations are still available on our website) something that NO ONE forced us to do and that NO OTHER BITCOIN Companies have ever yet done (And I am not including Exchange). We cannot of course give such details here on a public forum, but I can tell you that we have been VERY caution when this particular change of ownership happen. We of course use the advise of our Lawyer and act accordingly. We did not let this change or ownership happen until we were fully satisfied with the document that were send over to us.

We wish things could be so simple, unfortunately they are not! But if you read a little further we explain that we know how and where the money goes and we will give all these details to the appropriate authorities to get this done right. AML as nothing to do with warning. AML is just here to make sure you are who you say you are, and then once a person on here in this case a company prove they are who they say they are they become Trusted or Verified. Once you have a Verified Account or a Trusted account your limits are not lifted, you or in this case the representative of the company need to contact us and ask us to lift their account limits.

AML has once again nothing to do with that. Now Mt.Gox offers many withdrawal methods, and the thief use the one(s) that fit his/her/their needs in that matter.

Please use Google Auth for the moment, we will see with Mark what can be done regarding people that already own a Yubikey.

Let's clarify the situation, Bitcoinica is not verified as an individual but as a company.

We are once again very sorry to hear what's happening to many of you and that once again Bitconica has been the victim of a theft.

As far as Mt.Gox is concerned and as Genjix explained, we did not suffer any breach or any hack, all other account are safe and the thief only targeted Bitconica's account. Mark (MagicalTux) has been in contact with many Bitcoin players since this announcement and offered any help we can give, but unfortunately all funds (USD & BTC) are no longer within our reach.

Once again, someone with a US IP succeed to get Bitcoinica's account credential which did not trigger any alarms since they were fully identified. Since Bitconica's account was a verified account the owner of this account asked (This happened when Zhou was still controlling Bitconica) to have his limits lifted to the maximum possible, giving the possibility to the thief to move Bitcoinica's assets to another external account (External to MtGox).

Despite our effort on securing Mt.Gox and protecting everyone's asset I would like to remind everyone that it is also your responsibility to secure your account with a very strong password and use either a Yubikey or Google Auth (You can even use both at the same time).

Of course and within our capacity we at Mt.Gox are ready to give a hand in anyway we can to help Bitconica's team.
