Apparently, Friedcat name is Della Lu, at asicminer.usb@gmail.com unconfirmed yet, but under investigation

It is pretty well known that Friedcat is 'Xinyu Jiang', but he is also associated with the names 'Brandon Lu' and 'Della Lu'

BitFury has announced it has completed the manufacturing of its anticipated 28nm ASIC chip.

The company reported the chip has been tested to deliver 0.2 joules-per-gigahash, a figure it had advertised widely at the time the project was announced.

BitFury continuously improves its market-leading technology and we are already hard at work on the next generation 16nm chip that is expected to achieve 0.06 J/Gh this year.

Any thoughts on this article? (It is currently on the front page of r/bitcoin)

I wonder what ASIC optimizations FC is using for BE300.

AM is dead.

AM isn't dead! It is merely resting.

I'm joking of course. But some good BE300 news can't come soon enough.

You are probably right. It must be painful to see your coins sitting there in plain sight. F*ckers.

As part of a move to expand into supercomputing and deal with the excess heat that is a byproduct of bitcoin mining, BitFury Group, a bitcoin infrastructure provider and transaction processing company, has purchased Allied Control, which makes cooling systems for supercomputing and data centers.

Well, I guess that concludes the partnership between AM and AC...

So the Hard Fork has come and gone, so far everything seems be operating correctly.

Thanks for your hard work on the hard fork Tranz!

Anyone experiencing anything odd?

So far so good over here :)

So Guido bought everything? Isn't that Eduardo's buddy?

Such a move baffled the veteran bankruptcy judge, Dennis Montali.
"What troubled me was to read that Mr. Ochoa will allow the debtor to buy mining boards?" he said from the bench.
"This is like a patient that is going to die from three different things and now you're suggesting a fourth surgery," he added. "Now they want to do a hip transplant? Why?"

What is going on?

It is interesting to see how hard it is for a coin to actually die.

I just installed cryptometh-qt and instantly got 10 connections, so it seems to be running fine although I don't think this coin is traded on any exchange anymore?

My prognosis is that CryptoMeth has overdosed (too many pump & dumps is bad for your health yo) and is currently in a comatose state :)

I wonder how many alts have actually died? (as in not producing any new blocks, 0 connections).

A consortium of major Chinese bitcoin mining firms including ASICMiner, Gridseed, Rockminer, XBTec and ZeusMiner has pledged to be more transparent in its operations, specifically on the source of cloud mining payouts.

It appears the KNC site is being DDoS'ed right now but from what I understand their 16nm 'Solar' chips scheduled for deployment in Q1 2015 will achieve 0.07 W per Gh/s.

The reason there is no reaction is because there is no news. Just plans and promises:

Quote
will soon be launching

will have its own payment processor

will be called iXpay

will be iXpay.io

expect to announce at least 1 partner

intend to bring this complete solution to the masses

Of course, if you are able to actually get this thing of the ground, it will be a different story.
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 30, 2014, 02:00:48 AM
The company that got the "fastest" chip went bankrupt faster than any other company, didn't deliver one full batch of miners and managed to spend all the money from 4 batches of miners on chips and tricks. Did I miss something?

Nope. That sums it up nicely.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Scamming Business is Booming! on: October 14, 2014, 04:09:59 AM
Scammers are everywhere, you can't trust any person in this world, real and virtual.

True. And I'm afraid that includes you after I got the following PM out of the blue:

Hey man, i really need fast response, i need to sell my bitcoins without any verification process.

If possible instant withdraw to paypal, skrill ect.

Localbitcoins is too slow for me, please share some website that you have used and its reliable (its a lot of btc for me).

I searched all possible exchanges and i couldn't find anything without verification.

Appreciate any help.

All the best,
futureazy

Now kindly go f* yourself.

Friedcat's stated goal of squeezing everyone.

Well, FC is certainly getting some help today.

I am worried that a continued price decline will cause a further centralization of mining power into the hands of a few players though. This can not be healthy for the Bitcoin ecosystem as a whole.

You can disable signatures in the settings. Cleans everything up nicely:

Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Don't show users' signatures
40  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 17, 2014, 10:55:10 PM
In the current mining climate (declining BTC value, exponentially increasing difficulty, fierce competition) it is hard enough for an ASIC manufacturer to survive, let alone thrive.

I would not expect anything in terms of dividends. Gen2 was vaporware and Gen3 a bit of a dud due to a design mistake that significantly increased power consumption. I think the best we can hope for is for friedcat to roll over any earnings from Gen3 to accelerate and perfect development of Gen4. Shareholders looking for short term gains will be disappointed. In the long run, I think AM is still well positioned to come out on top and worth the risk of holding shares.
