I have a question for the community:   is there any interest in having a resource to buy or sell HBN directly for fiat?

In my opinion, something like that would be great but given the relatively low volume on our main exchange Cryptsy, I doubt it would be beneficial.

To me anything that can help spread the word, and create additional liquidity for HBN is a good thing. Having said that, I also agree with PressF1, the volume may or may not be there to support the additional market.

But as always if someone is willing to put in the resources to make it happen, I will do whatever I can to help.

We at EMC2 are considering it for our coin, my thought is to also consider it for a few other coins too, coins that are appear to be relatively stable and reliable.  Obviously price isn't the sole factor to determine stability.

For now I'm sending out the feelers to gauge overall demand,  thanks for the responses they are helpful.

Hello, this is usually caused by a corrupt block chain. It can happen during a bad shutdown.

Fixed, thanks.

You are welcome.

So the Hard Fork has come and gone, so far everything seems be operating correctly.  Anyone experiencing anything odd?

Unick, who has helped with the coin in the past, is having some issues with the Mac wallet.
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/27625-cant-sync-mac-wallet-for-3-weeks-now/

Can anyone else confirm they are having similar issues, or is their mac wallet working and staking as normal?

Thanks!

I think I have to disagree with PressF1 and Tranz, and that don't happen very often. But frankly, what holds all alts down right now is that they are linked to BTC, often solely, and with little way of exit. Links to Fiat has multiple good points, not the least of which is that it decouples that link between HBN and BTC. BTC is hardly the best Crypto, it's just the gatekeeper.

I would be quite supportive of such a thing, if it's done well and transparently.

I think every coin should have such a service via their foundation -- The HBN Foundation. this type of service in-house could have a very stabilizing affect on a coin and community.

Having multiple resources for the same service results in competitive pricing and added liquidity.

I'll keep everyone posted as this develops.

anyone have an updated addnode list?

Whenever I need nodes, this is where I look:
http://hbn.cryptocoinexplorer.com/peerinfo.

And the Jan. 17 fork must have been the smoothest crypto fork ever! Great work Tranz.

I added a bunch of peers, but why, when I initially open the client, am I only connect to 4 peers. I've had the client open for about 5 mins and it's still only 4 peers. If the peers I added are currently active/alive (which they should be since I just grabbed them from the list of peers on the site) why won't my client connect to them right away?

If you are behind blocks, the client will first worry about grabbing the missing blocks before connecting to many peers. Also the client uses the peers.dat file to look for new connections. It does it randomly, not necessarily using your addnodes right away.  Usually after you are caught up with blocks, you will get a strong 16 connections in 30 to 60 mins.

Also remember the client by default onl allows for 16 connections. So the nodes you added may be full and not accepting any connections right away.

Guys I would like to know specific details about the hard fork, I went back about 5 pages and didnt see any information. I went to the OP and its not there either. Here are my specific questions?

Has the min stake age changed? If so what is it now?
Has max pos reward changed? If so what is it, and what is max block size to use to avoid hitting max block reward?
What other important changes do I need to know?
There is talk of buying HBN with fiat.. Tranz have you made a decision on this?
Also Tranz, can you please post specific details about the hard fork on the OP for everyone?

Thanks
Vegas

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

Min stake age is still 10 days, but max age is now 30 days.

Further info : https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/21832-hbn-version-15-update-by-jan-17-2015/

Max reward from a single block of coins is 250. Hitting the max reward is largely probabilistic, but given that coins don't age after 30 days, that would equate to ~8% stake, or a max desirable block size of ~3000.

Thanks Majormax. Yes that page will have the detail for the hard fork. Additionally it can be found in the change control on github.

Regarding HBN to fiat. This is not my decision or in any way in my control. I personally would love to see it, and will do what I can to help make it happen.

The 2nd post(after the op) already contains the links for the 1.5 information.

Im looking to buy 32,132 HBN @ 3101 sat . I placed my buy order on Crypsy. So if you have a large quantity and want out. Its a little less than market, but heres your chance to unload a massive quantity if you want. Tranz Im sure you have extra you can spare to a loyal HBN lover? I would be willing to do an OTC with you, if interested. Its 1 BTC is my buy order, and im sure you know the price of btc went crazy today.
