21  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Problemed miner running 4 5970's on: February 26, 2012, 02:56:42 AM
I have 2 rigs running 3 5970's each. They run great.

I have tried (many, many times) to get the fourth running and cant quite get there. Windows installs and recognizes all 8 GPUs, even the miners (guiminer poclbm, phoenix miner, and cgminer) recognize all 8 adapters. The problem is that the miners either hang (phoenix and cgminer) or only start mining on 3 cores (poclbm).

Anyone who has succesfully run 8 GPUs I would love to know what os, drivers, and miners you used in your rig.

Thanks.

This isn't trolling, fool, this is a public service warning to anyone stupid enough

I did a cursory examination of your posting history on this forum and it is apparent that you are using it solely as a venue to launch personal attacks against anyone unlucky enough to find themselves within range. Your modus operandi is to re-hash existing conversations and use them as a vehicle to abuse your victims.

At this point I have written off any benefit to reading your posts and I strongly encourage others on this board to do the same.

lol, you obviously need to relax a bit and really get to know LoupGaroux. I trust more in his word than yours atm

lol. Birds of a feather....

Bitcoins purchased with PayPal are reversible coins. You take the bitcoins from the Seller, and then "oh my goodness, what a tragedy, the Seller never delivered the goods!" A quick dispute with PayPal and you can try to get your money back, even if you both get your accounts locked for trading in prohibited goods.

Only a fool would sell bitcoin via PayPal, only a simpleton would ask to buy them that way. That particular scam has been pulled too many times around here cowboy, take your nonsense to another town.

"simpleton" lol. I still dont understand what your problem is, why you are posting in this thread, and why you are provoking me with your incorrect, inflammatory, and trollish statements.

I am purchasing bitcoins atm. My most recent Dwolla transfer wont clear until Tuesday. If someone is interested in selling bitcoins via paypal Id like to buy them. I have extensive credentials and have moved thousands of dollars through various accounts, including paypal, in bitcoin related transactions. I havent had any problems.

Id like for you to explain how I will get ripped off "hardest and fastest" in this transaction. You cant. Your a punk hiding behind an ip address and you wouldnt be talking out the side of your neck if you were standing in front of me. Coward.

seems legit

Your implication that I am not legitimate or attempting to defraud members of the bitcointalk.org community is totally unfounded.

I received the loan a month ago. I am purchasing coins to repay it.

Go see the Easter Bunny for your PayPal purchase needs, he is more believable. You want to buy reversible coins to pay off your loan? What fool was willing to lend on those terms? You and dareq deserve each other... it's a race to see who gets ripped off harder and better. Have fun boys.

What are "reversible coins" ?

36  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Trouble booting Linuxcoin with 4 Video Cards. on: February 09, 2012, 02:55:34 AM
I havent been able to run Linuxcoin with 4 5970's. Its mines great with 3 cards installed but put the fourth card in and it stops displaying after the splash screen. Ive also tried BAMT with the same issue.

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 and it runs well with four cards but I have been unable to successfully install the Catalyst drivers for this OS.

If anyone has any idea what might be causing the boot problems with Linuxcoin and BAMT or has ideas for a workaround please let me know.

Thanks.
37  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / [SOLVED] 8th GPU crashes "AMD External events viewer" on: February 09, 2012, 02:51:45 AM
I have been trying to get my miner set up but am having a problem with the last GPU.

I first tried using Windows 7 64-bit but couldnt get it to boot with more that 4 GPU's (2 5970's). It would freeze at the splash screen. So I installed Windows 8 developer preview and it recognizes and installs drivers for all 8 GPU's (4 5970's). No problems booting up at all.

Miners runs fine with three of the cards installed (6 GPU's). When I try and boot with the fourth card installed it crashes the "AMD external events viewer" every time. If I try and mine after this (external events viewer crash) the computer freezes up after a few seconds.

Has anyone experienced this error or have some ideas for a possible workaround?

My equipment is a Biostar TA-870 mobo with 4 reference 5970's. Windows 8 developer preview with corresponding windows 8 ati catalyst.
