21  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: December 13, 2017, 01:49:31 AM
Antpool is actually a good place to mine BCH using PPLNS.  The transaction fees on that blockchain are next to nothing, so 0%??  Sign me up.
22  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: North American Mining Pool on: December 11, 2017, 04:19:14 AM
Why does it matter where regionally the pool's owner is based?

Almost every major pool has multiple instances spread across the world to lower stales. Even if the owners are in China, the miners themselves are globally distributed.

It is pretty trivial to setup a pool these days - so in the event that one of the Chinese ones were shut down, it'd be easy to setup a pool in another region.

The matter is how the pools are run, the high fees, and where the profits are going.  Right now China dominates Bitcoin mining and this lack of competition affects all miners that aren't in a position to reliably solo mine.

Did not create this thread to start a philosophical debate though, interested in feedback on what feature(s) would motivate you to switch from your current pool.
23  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: North American Mining Pool on: December 11, 2017, 02:02:26 AM
I actually always mine on pools that are not necessarily the biggest and most popular, but those who have a decent size of miners and a reasonable fee.

Spreading the hash across many pools and not concentrate all the hashing power into the hands of few is healthy.

So you have any specific features you'd like to see in a pool that would draw you away from your current one?
24  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: North American Mining Pool on: December 10, 2017, 07:12:34 PM
That is an excellent point about transaction fees.  They will become a bigger part of the picture as usage increases and block rewards shrink.
25  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im selling all my bitcoins at way lower than current price on: December 10, 2017, 02:03:42 AM
Seems legit
26  Bitcoin / Pools / North American Mining Pool on: December 10, 2017, 01:42:14 AM
~75% of the Bitcoin network hashrate is pointed at 6 pools, of those 5 are in China.

I myself use a Chinese pool due to the large amount of hashrate going toward it resulting in a steady, predictable daily income.

My question to other North American, or South American or European, Bitcoin miners that use pools:

What would make you switch to a North American pool vs a Chinese or the lone Czech one?

Gotta say RIGED is into something here.   Vegas are sold out everywhere and I don't think the holidays can account for this.   Someone,  somewhere has figured out a way to tap into their mining potential of these cards.   How's the diff growth looking on ETH and XMR?
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12 AMD GPU on Win 10? on: December 09, 2017, 06:41:51 PM
If Windows doesn't work out for you,  I highly recommend ethOS.   Made the switch about 9 months ago and will never look back.   No buggy drivers,  frequent updates,  robust monitoring dashboard,  and remote config.   It's a great tool for mining with multiple rigs.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Blissz firmware (02/11 v1.1 update) on: December 03, 2017, 03:17:58 PM
Hy guys
I don't understand, why better this firmware than the stock firmware? Because the profit on19,3Ghs with 1200w is equal 17Ghs on 750W-1,5 fee.

+1  Grin

If sound is a concern, its same 'profit' for less noise.

I'm only using this on two D3s that had instability problems.  Was able to bump voltage on unstable chains and lower it on stable chains and get all chains hashing stably with a lot less HW errors.  So it has that utility as well.  Can't see switching any other miners over to this firmware though as they are running stable at ~19.3.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Blissz firmware (02/11 v1.1 update) on: December 03, 2017, 03:14:32 PM
Is it possible to clock each hashboard individually?
For example I have one hashboard, which has with higher clock many HW errors (but the two others are OK)

Dude, read the OP on page one.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Blissz firmware (25/11 update available!) on: November 25, 2017, 03:19:43 PM
CONFIRMED

Bitmain gave me (I'm assuming others?) $125 coupon for every D3 ordered!!!

Same here.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: November 24, 2017, 08:30:42 AM
Mine and leverage as margin on polo.  Hodl and trade, great option but you gotta be careful.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: D3, L3+ Received with no PSU on: November 24, 2017, 08:28:54 AM
Just got shipping information for my last number of APW3+ that were ordered along with D3s.  They are November batch so can't complain.  Additionally, the D3s were shipped almost two weeks earlier than expected so.......  We'll see how the November batch of APW3+s ordered with S9s go...  They've still got about a week.

Mass loaded vinyl (MLV).

I'm in same boat, going to line the basement ceiling with this.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: November 23, 2017, 10:16:12 PM
All I gotta say is that Bitmain puts out a solid product more or less.  Why do I comment here?  Because this forum has and still can provide valuable information and discussion.  However, reading through this thread there are a large number of kids threatening to sue, boohooing, etc.  This isn't constructive and frankly, I enjoy trolling you types - you're losers.

No pal, you are only an idiot, that is all.

Well, my dad can beat up your dad.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 Nov. Batch sell or hold ? Suggests? on: November 23, 2017, 09:21:00 PM
Its a free market.  Don't cry if you make a bad decision buying a miner.
It is not about free market, its is about scamming. This is related bitmain's batch policy and controlled selling policy and they use this policy to get peoples trust but then they use this trust to selling excessive amount of antminer d3.
So don't tell these bullshits, everybody want to buy s9 but they selling just 45 minutes or less and just for an one day.
But antminer d3 was open more than 5 days!!! so this is not related demand or free market , this is directly related bitmain's scam.

otherwise there wont be any asic that is profitable, if bitmain sells free amount of miners , all their miners will be obsolete after 1 month. So this is not related your bullshits , your forecasts or your bullshitty vision.

Bitmain is under no obligation to limit the amount of miners they sell to ensure the miners remain profitable.   You're living in a dream world.  I bought several D3s, they aren't as profitable as I thought,  big deal.   They are meeting demand,  people are buying...  I honestly don't get the amount of butthurt here.

Dude, it's as if we're dealing with children. What did these people expect, that it's gonna make'em 150$ per day forever? This is what you get for being a noob, and honestly justly so. I only got one of these machines and while I can't say I'm ecstatic about the profitability, I'm satisfied with what I got. I'm mining some shitcoins here and there, some dash hoping it's gonna reach a couple grand (not a pipe dream I might add). All in all, I'm more than ok with what I've got. Should I have gone for the L3 or S9 instead? Maybe. In the crypto world, hindsight is 20/20.

You got it bud.  I'm sitting on 9 D3s.  They've only shipped 3 APW3+ so far but hey.... I got the miners earlier than expected.  I'm confident that DASH price will rise proportionally with the network difficulty, just like all other coins.  The MN are an X factor though as they have to work no harder, expend no more energy to mine like a purely POW network, but such is the risk.

Nothing is guaranteed in this game.  We take risks, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.  You can blame conspiracy theories and evil Chinese corporations or you can learn from your mistakes and do better next time.  I'm sitting on 9 heaters that are only making about 40% of what I predicted they were when I put the order in - I was wrong.  No biggy, live and learn.  The big takeaway is to source my PSUs elsewhere next time around!
Simple question, if they will open the doors and sell all their miners from now on and send in just in one or two day, what would happen after 1 month ?
But you dont have any information about this change , they will not tell, it will look just another ordinary batch sell.

I can answer for you what will happen, all their model will be useless less than a month due to excessive selling. So this is not related how you do better next time or this time.
We take risk by trust to bitmain's batch policy  and think this will be just another ordinary antminer batch ,limited number of miners... But it was not, they sold excessive number of units.
And because they started to take such shitty approaches ;

Quote
While we cannot control the factors that affect earnings, we do understand the situation for customers who purchased the D3. As a customer service, we are issuing a coupon for $125 to each original purchaser for currently paid orders. The coupon may be used to purchase any miner on our web site.

So except bitmain's dogs on the forum , bitmain already knows it's mistake , but giving coupon is another kind of shitty action from these greedy gnomes.
Simple question, are the doors open to buy as many GPUs as you can? Really guys, stop bitching about profit, as a POW system network will adapt to the increased input from the supplier side. The main problem is that these heaters are technological nightmares, really supposed to run at 15GH, boards produce lots of HW errors, unstable at the factory settings. My A5 runs at 36.5GH@740W@47C   D3s are just a shitty patchwork which is my real consern.

This.

You all honestly sound like clueless, petulant children.   Bitmain sells miners,  you buy them or don't.   Did you honestly believe you'd ROI in 9 days when you put the orders in?
