21  Economy / Economics / Re: This is how 0.037 Bitcoins looks like in Venezuela on: October 30, 2015, 02:22:39 PM
...

Venezuela apparently has been selling a big part of its gold stash (which is a pretty large 370 tonnes, or was...):

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-10-29/venezuela-sells-billions-gold-repay-its-debt

They will have to sell more before too long, or else they will be unable to borrow.

Note that the New York banksters are perfectly OK with receiving gold as "money"!

gold is more true money than fiat currency.

fiat currency isn't money at all in fact.

Gold isnt money either, because it's hard to divide and it has fungibility problems due to forgery.

Bitcoin is the only money around that is both limited, representative of value, and the biggest / safest one out there.

Fiat currency is just a bank note which is = promises that cant be fulfilled.

All of them (fiat money, gold, dollar, yuan and other currencies) are used for trade stuff.
Flash back, i really salute with satoshi nakamoto who can turn their "digital stuff" into real money. (Satoshi Nakamoto is a group name, not only stand for 1 people)

Will come many altcoin too in future.
And when that happen.. Population of bitcoin users will reduced up to 40%

40% Bitcoin and 60% Altcoin.
I can sorta see what I think he means.  Lets say hypothetically bitcoin was more "centralized" by huge mining corps and banks and it wasnt feasable to home mine alts could likely take a turn for the better and become more popular.  I'm not saying this is what will happen just my thoughts.  The beauty of cryptocurrencies is that anyone can create their own unique or cloned coin and if someone can bring value and utility/fungibility to their own coin it becomes a currency of value to whomever finds value in it.  Bitcoin is awesome but some might have reasons for an alt as their choice of coin. All in all yes a very high percentage of alts are just pump and dump coins,  but within the rubbish there are always little gems.  In my mind I cannot see bitcoin without alts or the other way around.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: October 30, 2015, 02:30:32 AM
Bitcoin is an easier pick, its easy to store and you can buy products with bitcoins, gold is expensive to store and you will need to change to coins before to buy anything.
Gold doesn't deteriorate so you could bury it. that's not expensive to store  Wink

Also, walk into a pawn shop with a full Bitcoin wallet and a piece of gold.  See which one is able to get you a bottle of water.
so very true! Damn thats not a bad idea! A bitcoin pawn shop! Im going to try that out.  Seriously speaking! Ultimately though it's up to each person to decide where and how they want to store their value. Each has it's own niche.  SHTF Gold... Day to day btc. IMHO

You can monetize anything so long as someone is willing to trade you for it.  Btc is money to me.  I can buy and sell almost anything for Btc.
25  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining rigs rental is that profitable? on: October 28, 2015, 01:56:08 PM
An ICO would make it profitable if the coin had a following and a decent price.  I got out of the mining game because Florida is too hot to keep home mining profitable and the power cost is to great for me.

The heat is a challenge for anyone that setup's a decent amount of miners.  I had to do a lot off CFM's of fans to get through the summer.

I'm lucky winter is coming and it's cooling down.  But for initial investment I now can mine during summers from this point on with using fan's and not AC which saves a lot of money.
Whats the ambient temp of your mining room? If I didn't use ac it would get up to 84 degrees inside which I didn't allow my miners to run in.  I mean how hot does a data center get?

I would buy 100k worth of btc and put it in cold storage.  Then spend 100k having fun.  And finally buy property with the remaining 800k so I could rent them out

Period october - december 2013: "well, price of BTC is now $250. Should have bought at $150. I'll wait till it is beneath $200 again." Then, two weeks later: ""well, price of BTC is now $450. Should have bought at $250. I'll wait till it is beneath $300 again." And so on.

In a nutshell: hesitation ... !
I know that feeling.

I choose both Wink honestly if I had to choose one for shtf situation I would say gold because it doesn't require tech to use.  If all the competes in the work failed gold would be my only choice imho.
33  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: October 25, 2015, 05:52:06 PM
If you freeze a big enough piece of water you can kill someone by dropping it off a building. I think water should be banned as well. It really bothers me how people can say guns are bad but they live in a nice suburban area with low crime rates.  I live in a bad area and honestly not having a gun here is just a bad idea
The local criminals don't care about any laws.  Do you think gun control will stop them from carrying? These laws only hurt law abiding citizens not criminals.

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with having one.
You can loose your man card if caught with one.   Wink
Not forever! You'll look like a brave man for saying "Look at me. I love myself, and I want a good picture".
Lol the same can be said for cross dressers too but we all know they don't have a man card. Still though,  there are exceptions like being in a hot tub surrounded by women etc etc

I`ve wasted time, a lot of time, in bitcoin, searching for useless methods to earn them.

Now i`ve found it, but wasted time sucks very bad.

Well, tell us your secret....What did you find?  Have you figured out a way to increase your bitcoin portfolio and you're not telling us?  Let us in on the secret!
Shhh... it's a secret...  don't scream it out lol.  I'll admit I am curious though
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you? on: October 25, 2015, 06:52:03 AM
I see it as cash. I have used it to buy many things so it is to me
38  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin-forums.net ? is it a replica of BCT . on: October 25, 2015, 06:38:56 AM
I saw that site come up a few times in searches.  Found it odd how it was almost if not exactly alike this one. Never used it thank goodness.

My biggest mistake was not investing $200 when a friend of mine told me about btc a long time ago.  I thought it was monopoly money and never really paid it much attention at that time.  Boy am I kicking myself in the butt for that huge mistake as I wood have been very comfortable right now...
Recently btc price increases a lot day by day. If you believe it, there is stll a chance to buy some before further increaing. We should move forward, not regret the past.
I learned quite a bit from that. I moved on and buy when I can.
