I remember sending like 0.4 btc to the wrong address back when Bitcoin was still at around $1000

This is the mistake that everyone does at the initial stage, I remember even I also did the same mistake when I was a newbie and it was my first transaction, I had to send 0.1 BTC to my friend but somehow I sent it to the wrong address, may be internet fluctuation or maybe I was careless, But it was good that amount was not too high to regret, So now I check and recheck before sending BTC.

Interesting how many people lost a large share of their money in gambling.

I lost some of my bitcoins in betting and I still regret for the same, it was my biggest and worst mistake with regards to bitcoins.

Worst mistake?

Getting into that Scrypt ASIC hype. Bought a couple Zeus machines that were already out-of-profit after a month.

My worst mistake was getting involved, now I know about it and I can't unlearn bitcoin, and I will compare everything else to bitcoin.

I know bitcoin since 2010, but I didn't give even a time to read about it (though I made a wallet but received no bitcoins in it). I rediscovered it in Nov. 2013 when it popped out of the news because of the all-time high price. On that event, it sparked my interests on this decentralized currency. Funny how things that were once valueless tends to become valuable when you ignored it. Smiley

i invested into scams like clouds mining

Oh yes, most of us ve been in that situation. Then again, you learn and move on.
There are only 2 legit cloud companies I know of, one is in my signature and the other one is Hashnest. Compare to that hundreds of scam websites offering non existing hash and u ll have an idea of how many people took that bait.

Good thing I haven't invested into something like those in the past. I only put some into cex.io and traded my share to maximize my profit. I've made quite a money from those and other HYIPs back then, but I do not promote the latter as we know that there isn't any good in that kind of scheme.

Well, I don't have a whole bunch of experience yet but the worst mistake I've made with bitcoin is investing in Mercurial: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1158117.0

This was a recent investment so it still stings....they ripped off thousands of dollars from us....creeps!

Worse mistake was leaving around 400 BTC on an old hard drive from 2011. Didn't really understand the tech at the time.....

You are correct that if you are active on forums especially here on bitcointalk, you'll probably more wiser and you'll receive a lot of advice from veteran people here. I also used to waste my hard earned BTC from faucets and referral bonuses on cloudmining shits like hashprofit and scrypt.cc

Worst mistake I ever did with my coins was that I invested 60% of my stash in BTCT.co (Bitcoin version of the Litecoin Global online trading platform). The platform suddenly closed down, and the net worth of my BTCT-AT shares declined by 99%. I thought about quitting the Bitcoin sector for a few weeks... but then settled down.

My biggest mistake was not investing $200 when a friend of mine told me about btc a long time ago.  I thought it was monopoly money and never really paid it much attention at that time.  Boy am I kicking myself in the butt for that huge mistake as I wood have been very comfortable right now...

If you are reading this,  you have too much time on your hands hahaha! If you're still reading this consider sending me some btc to my wallet on my profile.  Pennies make dollars and dollars make my life more interesting.  Seriously though stop reading this! LOL

Recently btc price increases a lot day by day. If you believe it, there is stll a chance to buy some before further increaing. We should move forward, not regret the past.

I learned quite a bit from that. I moved on and buy when I can.

I`ve wasted time, a lot of time, in bitcoin, searching for useless methods to earn them.

Now i`ve found it, but wasted time sucks very bad.
