21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Flexcoin is now owned by James Gray on: August 12, 2012, 07:26:26 PM
I've never used that, or any other Texas address. I've never even been to Texas.
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Flexcoin is now owned by James Gray on: August 12, 2012, 06:52:29 AM
Are you mark logan or james gray? Grin

As you'll soon see, at one time it was both: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99653.msg1094214#msg1094214

I found this thread due to my investigation on Bitcoinica, for his name/company get coming up along with bitcoinplus, of which I've yet to dwell into.

~Bruno Alpaca Duck~ (See what I did there?) (Bruno is my real name, Alpaca is my Christian name, and Duck is my surname.)

PS: Tomorrow I get my degree, so then it will become Dr. Bruno Alpaca Duck PhD.

Let me make this really simple for you. My real name is "James Gray", I've been using the handle "Mark Logan" since ~1996 (I'm not %100 sure). At the time, we had just gotten the internet in Yellowknife and I used the name "Mark Logan" to setup my hotmail account.
23  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Flexcoin? on: August 12, 2012, 06:32:55 AM
You know what? if you start a new thread publicly stating your "case" I'll happily state that I'm neither of those people. It should be mentioned that the guy best known for hunting "wabbits" is normally made a fool of, by the very "wabbits" he is hunting. However, if you'd like to continue down this road, please make your thread.

Put it right in "Bitcoin discussion" with "Mark Logan = Daffy Duck = Bugs Bunny" as the title for all I care, I'll keep an eye out for it, you can even PM me when it's there.

Why PM, when you've already proven to us you get your alerts via Google?

If I put such a thread in Discussion, it may get moved right back here. This thread is entitled Flexcoin? and you're the owner, so let's do it here. BTW, you seem a little terse. I've seen such terseness before, and at the end of the day, it didn't bode too well for the terser.

Let's see how terse you'll get when you read what I pen next: GRAY MARK R & CINDI (make no mistake, for I can link you to this fairly easily)
Okay... so now you think I'm from Texas? This is just getting better.

As I asked before, can you please tell us who you are in the physical world?

Facebook profile? Linkedin profile? Address? Work experience?

Something!

James Gray. 29 Years old. Telecommunications Engineering Technologist for Bell Canada.
Facebook I've always kept pretty locked down: http://www.facebook.com/jamesaegray
I think I created a linkedin profile, but I never did anything with it.
Alberta Canada.

Telecommunications, that's my work experience. Which is why I didn't go at this alone, I brought in my friends in security analysis.

I can't guarantee I can continue answering questions today. I'm quite ill at this time. But, I'm going to try.

Since you can't remember, and Google never forgets, here's your Linkedin page you once linked to: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/james-gray/6/492/913

Congratulations! You managed to track down one thing about me that's correct, and wouldn't you know it? Most of my (extremely few) linked in connections are from Edmonton!

As far as FB is concerned, there seems to be another James Gary who also is a Bitcoiner, but has a hell of a more active wall: http://www.facebook.com/james.gray.758737?sk=info

Okay, so you're now saying I'm a guy who was incarcerated a year ago, I changed my name and live in Texas, and I'm also living in England?

I'm sure the hell glad I don't have any coins residing at flexcoin.com

PG, Are you attempting to imply that I am this "Mark Logan Pedley" character? Because from the articles, it sounds like he went to jail in Feb 2011, and while my current cubicle is somewhat bleak, it could hardly be considered a cell.

Do you have any more conspiracy theories under your tinfoil hat?

When someone sends you a bitcoin, it is only accessible from the device you initially receive it on. You cannot easily access the funds from your mobile device (or from any other device for that matter)
Not quite 100% true.

Why did you crop the author from the quote?

I believe it's a mis-quote from our FAQ here.

Q: What does this site do?

A: When you send a bitcoin, it will only be accessible on the computer it is sent to, and nowhere else.  flexcoin acts as a centralized location to store all of your bitcoins, so that you can send them anywhere from any web connected device.  It eliminates the need to be connected to the PC you originally received the bitcoin on.

This FAQ was written by the previous owners, and as was mentioned, requires a re-write.
It's quoted from your front page.

And this, ladies and gentlemen is what happens when I respond hastily via my phone. Smiley Thank you for finding the actual source, I did think it strange that someone would rewrite something and then throw it in as a quote.

I dare anybody to ask me why. But first let's see if anybody else can figure it out. Smiley

Hey guys, remember Flexcoin?  http://flexcoin.com/

I remembered about it today.  I went to withdraw my account balances that were still there.  It worked.

Does anyone else still use this?  I love the concept of the vanity account names that act as intra-systemic addresses.  I sort of hoped I would have been hearing more about this by now.

A lot of people still use our service every day, though not enough people seem to know about the "user to user" transfers which the usernames are really useful for. We're currently working on more features to expand Flexcoin's usefulness in the ever growing, competitive bitcoin market. Hopefully we'll have some updates on our changes soon Smiley

Yes, unfortunately I've run into some snags in the old code that have to be rewritten to make the payment handling a little less cumbersome, and actually work. I have all the data for the backlog of payments (lots of data) you'll get you coins soon!
31  Economy / Auctions / Re: BitCrate (domain and source code) on: July 05, 2012, 02:02:01 PM
Yes, I am the new owner. The site should be moved an operational this week.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Flexcoin down for maintenance on: July 01, 2012, 02:27:20 PM
From our website:

[MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION: 8AM MDT JULY 1 2012]

After an unscheduled and unexpected outage at our hosting provider we have been experiencing technical difficulties with some of Flexcoin's backend processes.

We understand that access to your coins is one of the main reasons people use Flexcoin, and we've been working around the clock and will continue to, until we
get things running again. We apologize for any inconvinience this may cause. Please note that all the coins in our posession are still intact.

We are answering as many support tickets as we can at this time.

The Auctions section of the forum doesn't allow you to delete posts. This makes it *impossible to "retract" bids. Be careful what you say! Smiley

*("Impossible" is almost always possible.)

Well, that would be my intention, should it be awarded to me in the end.
