21  Other / Meta / Re: Infographic - Activity, Merit & New Rank Requirements on: January 29, 2018, 07:02:13 PM
A little plain, but maybe helpful.

Great content. Appreciate the effort you have put in. Is there a similar one for trust? If not, you could add that one too. Though its not required for ranking up, many newbies create threads asking the same and can be redirected here get a simplified picture.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we identify pump and dump? on: January 29, 2018, 04:54:18 PM
It is frustrating when I saw a strong momentum and bought a position only to see that it candle return to the original price where it belongs. Is there anyway we can know it is p&d group working and not organic push?

It’s not too difficult to detect a coin that’s being primed for a pump and dump. You’ll often see buying patterns like the ones in this graph. A coin generally rises in its price due to various factors but most of it being the current news and developers updates on the roadmap. One way to avoid this by checking the news or buy not investing in Shitcoins altogether. Since they are the ones usually pumped due to volume. If you want to learn in depth check buy and sell walls so you can find if there are no already built up large sell walls. One more thing is Never buy a coin just because the price is rising. This is when you become a victim due to the fear of missing out. Lastly use your common sense while trading. Don't trade thinking you will get rich instantly and putting your money in the dead coins.

23  Other / Meta / Re: How do I get merit and trust? on: January 29, 2018, 02:39:25 PM
collect 10 quality posts of yourself and post it on meta section

Wrong. IIRC There are undisclosed number of merit sources as posted my Theymos here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
But I guess its easy to find out over the days and postings by the merit sources.

I am still new in this and i want to learn more about it. I just want to asked what is merit and trust for? How can i earn merit and trust and where can i get it? Are merits and trusts important here?

Merit was introduced to reduce the number of shit postings and the account level farming going on in the forum. The the more active and constructive your posts are the more they will be merited. Trust on the other hand speaks for itself. The better trust you have the more trusted you will be on the forum. Just go along with the flow of the forum and eventually you will be trusted and merited. Don't beg for it whatsoever
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Signature Bounties and local language forums on: January 29, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
Would he be able to exclusively post in his own local language sub-forum? What are other members experiences with bounty campaign policy generally regarding this? I realize each campaign is

No. The main intention of the Signature Campaign is to advertise the ICO or Platform across the various threads and get an outcome for the amount paid to the participants. Most of the local boards have a very little activity happening and its not worth counting it as a approved board for Payment. Again it depends on the campaign and the manager. If he sees that most of your posts are in the local board then there is a very slim chance of getting accepted. Since you the majority of the forum is english and widely spoken there is no other way than to put in some hard work and earn the language. And most importantly the grammar.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My long-term portfolio, looking for advice on: January 29, 2018, 01:04:47 PM
Half of your Portfolio looks great but the other half in filed with Shitcoins. Its better to do some research on the coins you have invested so you can look for yourself if there are really going to survive and competition and do they actually have real world use cases.

Like you have mentioned I would take a look into XRB. Looks promising and a worthy contender to Bitcoin. Try to add to your Portfolio as the price is a lot lower now. Also some other mentions would be ARK, REQ, ICX and VEN. IOTA also will have a good future over the years. So try to increase a percentage of that.

27  Economy / Economics / Re: Robinhood app and Cryptocurrency on: January 29, 2018, 07:14:30 AM
They are currently showing prices for bitcoin etc. Anyone knows what is the source of this price feed?

IIRC Robinhood will be using Existing Exchanges to facilitate Crypto Buying and selling, not their own Exchange. So I believe it will show the best price available. But one thing to note is a lot of new money will be entering the markets. Hope to see a bullish run. Having Stocks and Bitcoin in one platform seems great. Could be a new trend to follow.
28  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Wallet and platform for 100 low value currencies ?! on: January 29, 2018, 07:00:38 AM
Hello,

Not sure if this topic was discussed, but I want to begin investing into cryptocurrencies and I was thinking about buying 100 different cryptocurrencies with very low price. For this I am looking for a wallet that accepts all this kind of currencies and also a platform with incorporated support to monitor the evolution of that many currencies.
I have searched this but with not great results. Most platforms support only the 5-10 main cryptocurrencies, also the wallets I have found are or for the main cryptocurrencies or a little shady.
Any tips about this kind of investing and names of wallets/platforms that supports this ?

Thank you in advance

There is not such wallet that can store all your coins in one. Although has Loyce mentioned Coinomi is a great wallet to store your coins even it doesn't include everything. Since you want to invest in 100 different Cryptos, most of them will be ERC20 Tokens. So you can store them in Myetherwallet (MEW). Its not exactly a wallet but just a Ether address and a private key. And ERC20 Tokens can be stored in the Ethereum address. Thats the safest way. Just youtube it and learn how to use it. Furthermore you can import the the private keys to Metamask Chrome extensions for ease of access. Again youtube.

If you want to hold you coins for a long term then buy a hardware wallet (Trezor or ledger nano S). Again you can store your ERC20 Token in it. Along with most of the coins. Avoid keeping you coins in exchanges. As you don't get access to your private key you don't have full control over your coins. Also they might disappear due to some bug in the system and the support will take forever to fix your issue.
29  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: [ANN] Setting the Roots of Blockchain in India [Bangalore] on: January 29, 2018, 05:24:07 AM
I am just wondering that the event would be discussing the future road map of the block chain in India. But I am not too sure with the government decision if they would be supporting this in any way in near future this technology or cypto currency. Just incase if they decide not to allow cypto currency in India then such events will actually become less worthy.

Though most of the people relate Blockchain to Crypto you must understand that Cryptocurrency is a part of it. Blockchain as a technology has various other use cases as in IoT, Supply Chain, Dapps. The government might want to suppress Cryptocurrency but I don't think they can do much about Blockchain Technology in general. So I believe these events will create a lot of awareness among people of these things. Also most of the people I need just take Bitcoin as an investment, trading instead the learning the how actually it work and the beauty of it!
30  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] Masked Gunmen Steal `Fortune` in Bitcoin in Daylight UK Robbery on: January 29, 2018, 05:14:45 AM
Rule nr 1 -- whether it's with Bitcoin or your fiat wealth, don't brag about it publicly.

I agree with most go your points but what about the massive KYC docs that exchanges like Bittrex insists. If these get hacked and the hackers get their hands on them then they can easily track you down. Though the chances of this is surely slim you never know what is coming. One advice would be to stay away from those shady exchanges. Also stay away from those localbtcoins listings of dealing with cash in public.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Governments let Bitcoins and Crypto World survive? on: January 29, 2018, 05:03:50 AM
I believe that they will try to pump and dump to bring it down. Remember that bitcoin only makes up half of 1% of the total investments in the world. When it crosses to 2 - 5%, then it will become a problem. Personally, I believe that if people do it legitimately and extract their money through coin base for example and actually pay their taxes, they won’t have a problem with it.

Also you have to remember that most countries are embracing bitcoin, not the other way around. And we all know a global currency is coming. The government is controlled by the big banks and they will do anything to destroy anything that comes in their way!
32  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-27] Bitcoin SNUBBED after value plunge as Starbucks announces plans ... on: January 27, 2018, 05:09:41 PM
Makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't pay $10 in fee for a $7 coffee. Which Cryptocurrency will it be then? Hope they don't start their own ICO in the near future. Whatever Starbucks chooses will require a chunk of time to implement. They should start with something that will last.

I would vote for XRB as I see a lot of potential in it to be able to use as a currency. Though it is currently not quite mature and fairly new but it as instant transitions, no fees or mining. It is literally the only coin that was designed for these types of transactions that is ready right now.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Hitbtc has taken my money I have to do on: January 25, 2018, 10:55:13 AM
Can you be a bit more clear on the issue you are facing? Are you trying to withdraw the coins or deposit it?

Secondly, what were you thinking before investing recklessly and listening to some friends. You might not be in the same financial situation as your friends. Ever heard of the phrase: Invest how much you can afford to loose

There is nothing you can do about your problem other than waiting in patience for the support to respond. Hope it gets resolved ASAP and a lesson learnt.
34  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fuloos Signature Campaign; A possible Scam! on: January 25, 2018, 09:46:11 AM
I would still be more careful around it though, Fuloos wallet does not need Bitcoin Miner.

The wallet is just a dummy product to embed the virus. I remember last year installing some sketchy software and my CPU going nuts at 100% in the background. Couldn't do anything and had to re-install the OS. So basically the wallet will chew up your CPU power and start mining coins until you notice the cooling fan making a loud noise.

And the key-logger, I guess everyone knows what it does. These kinds of scams are very well put up and a computer noobie will never understand its consequences. This is how your Info is sold on the Dark Web.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have to invest 550$, in which Coin(s) i should do? on: January 25, 2018, 09:30:58 AM
Hi Everyone, i have 550$ to invest in Crypto. I know, its not really much but its a beginning. Do you have any Ideas in which coins is the money most appropriate? I thought at Xspec, is there any chance that he get high? Thanks for help  Smiley

With $550 you can buy a lot of promising coins which cost less than a dollar. Try to avoid shitcoins form the top 10 of the CMC like Ripple, Cardano as they either don't have a working product or pumped enough to reach that high which will eventually crash.

Everyone has their own views and speculation for investing. From my perspective I would invest in NEO instead of Ethereum as I see a good run for it in 2018 as many ICO's are launching. Some other worthy mentions would be XRB, IOTA, ARK, PRL, ICX, VEN. Again these are only my speculations. It is better if you go through the whitepaper and decide for yourself if any coin is worth investing.
36  Economy / Scam Accusations / Fuloos Signature Campaign; A possible Scam! on: January 24, 2018, 05:43:34 PM
Today user Fuloos started a thread for Fuloos Signature Campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2815250.0) which I highly believe is a scam and better to look into ASAP since the applied users passwords might be at risk. Some proof in regards to this:

1) Fullos has a twitter campaign and never paid the users
Ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2649217.0

2) The campaign asks you to download their wallet to receive the tokens and on running the windows .exe file on Virus total this is what I found
http://prntscr.com/i514ys

Since I am not a computer geek I cannot justify this. So if anyone could look into the source code I am pretty sure it would be easy to figure out. Also this needs to be addressed with priority as many signature bounty hungry people have already installed the wallet and their passwords, private keys might be at stake.

3) Their whitepaper is nothing but definition of concepts and highly plagiarised (can be checked using a plagiarism tool online)

4) Jr member running the campaign without escrowed funds, Some shady exchange to trade the coin (probably created by them to look legit) all clearly points out to a be scam.
37  Economy / Reputation / Re: Using 2 Accounts on the forum on: January 24, 2018, 01:10:17 PM
I'm not saying that it's impossible these two users are alt's, i'm just saying that i don't see any proof in your OP...

Because they are not. Even I will be surprised if proof is provided. And the post of mine and reply of Alone055 are not even relevant. Lol! Either OP is trying hard to promote his scam (which I never accused but will do now) or he just wants to increase his post count.

1ST ACCOUNT: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=522852
This seems a bit fishy to me. Can you provide a link to the ANN thread? Not able to find it anywhere. The coin is not even listed on Coinmarketcap. Any reasons for that? Plus what kind of shady exchange is that?

Just a word of caution to the people who are downloading the wallet. Do it at your own risk. You might end up downloading a virus or a keylogger embedded into it. Not accusing OP, But these are common tactics used by scammers.

Can any DT member look into this?

Not sure about other things you said, but there ANN can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2586410.0
It is in Announcements (Altcoins) section, if you did not check there.
You are right about the exchange though. An exchange that trades in FLS (Fuloos Coin) only. Maybe it is made by themselves as well.

Are you kidding me? You got Buthurt just because I warned the users to be cautious from downloading a wallet. Over that people have claimed that you have a key-logger in your wallet in your own ANN which I haven't tested and I will do it in a few hours when I get time just to protect the users and the community. I am not loosing or gaining anything here.

Secondly which user are you referring to? Are you retarded or something? If that account is proved to be handled by me I will be glad to take red trust.

If not, I am sure to report you for false accusations.

40  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-23] Stripe: Ending Bitcoin Support on: January 24, 2018, 09:36:57 AM
Kind of sad to see it go. A company like Stripe is making the effort to normalize block-chain technology for mass adoption by creating familiarity. I read that Stripe was really easy to integrate into any website to process payments.

I think the problem is that most people wanted Core to support a increase in block size, not to run software without any developers behind it. I'm not even sure we needed such a large increase, probably a 50% bump from where we are now would have been sufficient to buy us time to get Segwit fully adopted and LN up and running. High fees actually make it harder to adopt Segwit since it'd be very costly to move all existing inputs to new Segwit addresses, so by having lower fees more people are likely to be able to very cheaply adopt Segwit.
